  • I have had my 2019 Mustang GT Premium for 3 years and I figured it was time to do an ownership review. This review covers what my Mustang GT is equipped with in terms of packages (digital dash, performance pack etc.) and all the issues I have experienced so far.
    My mustang is equipped with the 10 speed transmission and unfortunately have experienced some of the 10r80 problems on my Mustang. The 3 year ownership review of my Mustang GT should help potential buyers of the Mustang GT.

    Sweet video. I love your car. I bought a 2023 GT in Rapid Red. Just love it. A couple of differences are that I picked my 401A with the power pack/ handling package and the ppf. I picked up the manual, because I'm an old guy and I like manuals and rowing my own gears. I agree with you about the build quality- it should be better. I've only had mine since February and only have 2100 miles on her. No problems, but it's still pretty new. Really good video. Honest review.

      Congrats on your new mustang! Rapid red is a beautiful color. If I didn’t have to deal with dailying it in traffic I would’ve gone with the manual. 10 speed is faster but manual is more fun without a doubt. Can’t believe I’m coming up on 4 years of ownership already

    Be careful lowering your GT. A friend lowered his GT and he was hitting parking space stops all the time.

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  Рік тому

      Yeah I have been lowered for a while now so far it's been. I know Eibach that I originally wanted are even lower than Steeda and the bumps and parking garages I barely care would've been an issue on the Eibach.

    I really want to get the GT 2018-2023 but numerous 10r80 transmission & engine issues I've read about made me think twice.
    There's even a class action going on about fords 10r80 issues.
    What's your honest experience with the 10r80 & new gen coyote engine ?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  Рік тому

      Thank you! The only engine “issue” is the tick which ford has said it’s normal. Mine gets it after an oil change but goes away within 3-500 miles.
      As for 10 speed it’s pretty amazing. Shifts very good even the paddle shifter response is good. I have seen up to 29.4 mpg on road trips. However it can be a bit quirky. I recently developed a harsh upshift. Nothing that really bothers me but since it’s under warranty I want it taken care of. See my latest video to get more info.
      Tbh I love the Gen 3 coyote with 10 speed. People are pushing 700+ rwhp on stock motor and transmission. Can’t beat a high revving v8 engine. I would recommend it. 2020+ they iodated the shifting strategy so that will be slightly better

    Love the vid man i believe the warranty is a 4 year 50,000 miles which ever u hit first so maybe the dealership would fix your active exhaust if it keeps opening up the valve

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Bumper to bumper warranty on ford are only 3 year and 36k mile. Power train is covered 5 year and 60k miles. I’ll ask the dealer next time I’m there if they can hook me up since I’m barely over 3 year mark

  • @vincentdenis6417

    The rough shifting is due to a faulty CDF drum in your transmission. Ford redesigned that part and replacing it will fix that problem. I’ve actually been told that even the S650 models built before September 2023 will also have the issue as the updated CDF drum was incorporated starting November 2023. I just got my transmission rebuilt. The difference in shifting is mind blowing. Like you I was used to a rough down shift from 4th to 3rd, now it is pretty smooth all the time. I have a 2020 mustang GT.

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  7 місяців тому

      It could be the CDF. They updated the software on mine and it’s been better since then

    Looks good man. I’ve got a 2021 GT base. I need active exhaust badly! Lol that may come in time. Meanwhile I wanted to add that when I set my cruise control at 72 when I drive down to North Carolina from Virginia I get 31.5 miles per gallon consistently and people don’t believe me! It’s kind of a boring trip when I do the conservative driving but it is an interesting demonstration of how efficient these 5.0s are

    • @Red5oh
      @Red5oh  4 місяці тому +1

      Yup these cars are crazy! 31.5 mpg with a big 5.0 V8 is amazing.. I have seen up to 29.4 mpg and people just don't believe me lol. Even regular driving with getting on the car here and there, I usually get 21-22 mpg

    I had a 16 gt as my daily that had a few problems that no dealership would help me fix. I love mustangs but I’m not a fan of the lack of dealership support in my area. Was my daily driver and I got 20ish miles to the gallon with just a cat back exhaust done to it. Traded it for my current daily but I miss the roar of a v8.
