Hi, Steve, thank you so much for the great video. And I have a question, I am living Toronto as well, and I am also planing to get a Mustang GT premium, but do you think I can use this car for the daily drive in the winter time? Thank you so much.
Thanks Jack, small world! There are definitely people who use Mustangs as their year round daily driver. Few things you have to take into account though... 1. If there's a heavy snowfall you'll probably get stuck 2. Winter tires will be your best friend 3. With RWD in the winter it would be a good idea to toss a few bags of rock salt in your trunk to weigh down the back end
@@jackkuang9752 Big different are the seats.. the standard GT has cloth vs Premium will be leather. When you get into the 401a GT it will also include factory navigation and a fully digital cluster screen
Thanks Yigit! I'm trying to figure out which way I'm going in this exact scenario now. It's going to depend on your needs and budget. If it's your only car and you live somewhere where you get snow, the Mach E might make more sense. If you're looking for a fun spring to fall ride, the GT is fantastic! I was in a convertible GT last weekend and used a little over half a tank of gas, so about $50, for 250km of driving. The GT is thirsty but it also has the growl from the 5.0L coyote that you won't get in the electric. Mach E can be used year round in Canada but I wouldn't want to drive a GT in the winter. One thing.. if you're going for the manual transmission GT you'd probably really like the Mach 1 because of the TREMEC system!

@@CarsWithSteve Thnaks yes I checked that out interior was disappointment for me little but maybe we will get used to it I liked the exterior but not much the interior ... Thanks again I think I will wait a year lets see :)) Have a great weekend !
I always thought that since the car know and displays what gear you are in in the manual that it should be able to have remote start if it is out of gear
The downside for remote start with a manual would be the one time that you forgot to keep it in neutral and then started it up. But a startup of it recognizes you’re in neutral would be a neat feature
@@CarsWithSteve Thats true as i would never trust myself to install it anyway after but as the factory I believe they should be able to know since they are already able to tell what gear its in. Just a simple neutral safety like a clutch safety
Thanks Omar! Mustang builds happen more frequently this time of the year. Ordering one now, you'll probably see it 2 - 4 months at the very most depending on your build. Some of the newer colors, Ice Appearance and Stealth Package are late availability so they'll be closer to 4 months
It's definitely Brembo lol - there's an "E" in that lettering on the shim. I'm sure most people who get the PP probably don't track it but like the look 🤷
@@CarsWithSteve Lol, Steve as I’m personally invested in an S550 with Bimbo aka Brembo Brakes, I’ve unfortunately grown to hate everything about Ford and the S550. I said it right with Bimbo Brakes. I waited over 40 yrs to finally make a dream come true and buy a New Mustang GT and have regretted it since the 1st week of ownership. It’s garage kept and not abused as many would likely say it must be. I ordered this vehicle and waited weeks for delivery picking it up immediately. This vehicle is Way Overrated, Overpriced and Under Built. Trading for the next Gen Tacoma when it’s available or the current Frontier asap. I have so many negatives about this product and warranty work completed it’s overwhelming. Ford has lost any hope of selling me anything ever again. 👍🏼✌🏼🇺🇸
Ah I know! If you can find a 2020 or 2021 go for it.. but you could always do a stage 1 ECU tune to bring that performance back! And those tunes typically won't void the warranty
The stereo system speaker sizes and layout is horrible compared to my 2004 Mustang GT. If I buy one I will have to customize the car to accept at least 6x8's or even 6x9's in the doors and the back. Poor logic in terms of stereo layout.
I don't think Ford was thinking of aftermarket installs when designing the interior. The factory B&O is pretty solid but like you said.. always the option to customize a setup
It's because of the CARB Low Emission Vehicle III requirements. Honestly.. a stage 1 ECU tune will give you 30-50 extra hp and lb-ft of torque. More than makes up for it ;)
@@dadeFN depends on the budget and what you want out of it. Good one is from Diablo Sport which has 91/93 tunes to more than cover the power drop from the 2021 model
I couldn't imagine being able to only last 15 minutes. You have me curious though. With what I cover off in this video what do you think would have been better left on the editing floor?
I simply can't understand the gt performance pack. First of all, for stock 19s, there's no point getting summer tires. All track guys will go for lighter forged 18s and if you choose properly, you can get ones that accommodate 6 piston brembos with 15" rotors. Then, they would go for slotted 2 piece rotors and with motorsport breaks. The magnaride and the active exhaust should have been included in the pp.
so rims/tires aside.. the PP also gives the factory gauges, heavy duty springs, k-brace, larger radiator, TORSEN diff, upsized sway bar, k-brace and tuning If you don't care about the track benefits that come from all that you could always just do an aftermarket upgrades for what you find useful...
@@saby8765 if the torsen is the only thing that would sway you.. there's always the option of an aftermarket install of it! Ford and Steeda have them listed around $1,000
@@CarsWithSteve I agree it's a 1k part, but still, if we get the PP, again we'd have to buy atleast another set of tires for winter/all season. It may not be a problem in Florida or Cali, but in Illinois or Indiana this would be a added cost. Guess, I'll have to really drill down the cost for each component and labor, then decide.
Why wouldn’t you? You can drive an auto in semi-Manuel or automatic. Manual can only be driven manual. The only reason you wouldn’t is because you can’t/don’t want to spend an extra 1,000 for auto.
@@CarsWithSteve To many warranty repair items within the 1st month of ownership. Right side Head replaced, Timing Chain Tensioners Squeaking / Replaced. Vehicle damaged while on Dealer lot for repairs Bimbo aka Brembo Brakes squeaking within 1st week of ownership, (not a warranty item) $50K and I’m in my garage putting $250 worth of brake pads on it. The 6 spd manual Transmission is horrible, took a couple of weeks before I really felt how clunky it is. Ford cut corners. I’ll make it clear, this car is garage kept, well maintained with no abuse. People Don’t believe this usually but it’s true. No track use etc. I’m almost 50 yrs old and waited over 40 yrs to buy a new Mustang. Be careful what you wish for, ya may get it. Tried to order a ‘23 Premium with performance package yesterdays at dealer and was told I had to order ‘24. I don’t want the very first of the new model.
2023 order bank closed a little while back which does kind of suck.. Have your dealer try to locate one close to the specs you're after or go to the Ford website and search inventory yourself to find a dealer with one in stock! I hear you on not wanting to be the first to the party for a new model. The new ones should be hitting dealer lots in the next 4 - 6 weeks so you'll be able to check it out soon enough
man what timing.. Honestly though.. even if you got an order in just before cutoff there's no guarantee it would be built as a 2023 model. There were 2022 Broncos that took over a year to build that came out as 2023s instead

I really like how there is a quiet mode and the sport mode exaust roar sounds amazing! Although I hate the plasticy looking carbon fiber look on the dash. Also someone like me who is 6'4 like the visablity compared to the camaro.
The active valve exhaust in the Mustang is great! I found the Camaro to be a bit tight last time I was in one.. but that was like 5+ years ago now. Think you'd go for a GT or EcoBoost?
@@CarsWithSteve Id probably buy a different car in the price range of the EcoBoost. I'm not a fan, especially with the name. I will get the GT to get the full Mustang experience.
Yeah that makes sense. I hear from people all the time moving up to the GT after having the EcoBoost for a few years
SUGGESTION: Please bring back the Boss Mustang.
Yes! I have a buddy that has a 2012 Boss in bright yellow that he's done some work on. When Ford announces the fastback as an EV it would be great if they brought it the Boss look for that
Love the review. Fantastic overview. Question about the ride quality with the performance pack + magneride. Do you think it's worth it to go with the package, plus magneride? Better to save the money or just go for it! Oh I'm also in Ontario, barrie Area 😁
Thanks RJ, always fun running into fellow Canadians!
I usually recommend magneride if you're planning on taking the car on a track or if you're a slightly more aggressive driver. You'll notice a huge difference in the body roll when you corner hard
@@CarsWithSteve awesome appreciate the quick reply. This would be my first muscle car, or sports car for that matter. I'd mostly looking to daily drive it, however around the Orangeville area there's some twistes I wouldn't mind taking it around. My worry is in Winter will the PP be a little much 😅
@@r.j4925 Exciting it's your first sports car! There are some great roads around Orangeville and some good tracks within a few hours drive too
Few basic tips if you're driving it during the winter.. it's RWD so make sure to add some bags of salt in your trunk and throw on a good set of winter tires. Other than that.. just throttle back a bit and you'll be fine!
I just purchased the Mustang gt performance pack with the magnaride two days ago. I hope it's good on track. I got all options. I'm purchasing the aftermarket For Performance cold air intake on it. The kit has the bullitt throttle body to bring it to 470 horsepower. I'm crossing my fingers the suspension is good:) I'm in the GTA area.
@@ronk9462 Good call on the aftermarket cold air intake, that brings it on par with the Mach 1! You could always look at stage 1 ECU tune if you want to kick the performance up a bit
You won't be disappointed with the suspension at all!
I have the MY 21.5 GT antimatter blue coliur with magneride suspension. Better handling compared to the gt with stock suspension. I love how ford discontinued colour every season. Cheers
Love that Antimatter blue color, it makes yours a bit more unique because of the color changes! Have you had a chance to track it yet?
could you tell me which trim is this GT honestly looks amazing
This one was the 401a GT Premium! Full build link is in the description

@@davidleca01 nice! And now I'm curious... what types of mods have you done so far?
@@CarsWithSteve Hi Steve Alot she gets many looks, and sounds mean 👌🙌...
Suggestion: Please consider adding woodgrain dash accents to the interior.
Hmm that would give it a pretty interesting look. A true carbon fibre would look pretty sharp too
@@deadmonk5y The faux wood grain would be pretty neat. Now I kind of want to see what it would look like. Going to have to find a company that does them just to see!
is there gonna be a difference in the sound of the exhaust if you don't get the active exhaust. I guess what Im asking is how much of a difference does the active exhaust make in terms of sound
Slight difference in the normal mode of the active valve vs the standard GT without - I'll make sure to point that out in a future video!
Thinking about trading in my charger for a gt but I haven't come across one like this yet
You might luck out and be able to find a 2023 that has a similar build but to get an exact spec you're probably going to have to look at the newer 2024. What Charger trim level do you have right now?
my 401a doesn't have the exhaust sound changing settings, what a rip
Didn't get active valve in your build.. no easy way to do it aftermarket either unfortunately
Hi, Steve, thank you so much for the great video. And I have a question, I am living Toronto as well, and I am also planing to get a Mustang GT premium, but do you think I can use this car for the daily drive in the winter time? Thank you so much.
And what is the difference between GT & GT premium?
Thanks Jack, small world! There are definitely people who use Mustangs as their year round daily driver. Few things you have to take into account though...
1. If there's a heavy snowfall you'll probably get stuck
2. Winter tires will be your best friend
@@CarsWithSteve thank you so much, Steve, I really appreciate it 🙏
You're welcome!
Very good review thanks I gave my ecob to my son so question is now March e or mustang get premium what do you think ?
@@CarsWithSteve thanks for quick reply wow! I am in Florida and always had mustangs I am 46 now so little comfort could be good but what ever I tried went back to mustang so far :) and bmw. Now I have Laramie 2020 big screen all the tech and etc but not the same handling or style with the mustang so I think mustang gt will be good but with 2021 ecoboost I was pretty satisfied with the performance maybe convertible ecoboost so we do any have the same car in the family … I don’t know …:))
@@yigitorerrealtor6215 anytime! The new 2024 Mustang S650 was announced yesterday and would most likely be worth the wait for a year to upgrade. Being in Florida you'd get pretty good use out of a GT year round! The 2024 GT is getting a boost in power and it's looking like the EcoBoost is the same way. Convertibles are always a good time and it sounds like that's the way you want to go!
@@CarsWithSteve Thnaks yes I checked that out interior was disappointment for me little but maybe we will get used to it I liked the exterior but not much the interior ... Thanks again I think I will wait a year lets see :)) Have a great weekend !
@@yigitorerrealtor6215 The removal of toggle switches on the new Mustang is an interesting choice. Cheers!
@@trailerparkgarage6574 neutral safety would make sense. I don't know of any manufacturer of a m/t that offers remote start from the factory

hey steve whats the wait on one of these when i factory order? this has to be the best detailed video..
Thanks Omar! Mustang builds happen more frequently this time of the year. Ordering one now, you'll probably see it 2 - 4 months at the very most depending on your build.
Some of the newer colors, Ice Appearance and Stealth Package are late availability so they'll be closer to 4 months
@@CarsWithSteve thanks i ordered a gt performance package and a 301a package so then it will get here less than 4 months?

It’s always low on fuel too
Haha especially with gas prices the way they are right now! What build do you have for your GT?
Make sure the giveaway doesn’t involve going into random social media platforms because I don’t have most of them
Winners would have to connect via Facebook or Instagram so that I can figure out where the prize is going
I was about to comment that this color is grabber blue
haha and here we are! I was still stuck on 2021 colors when I shot this
Does the car come 260 on the dash?
260 km/h ;)
How does it fare in the water
The tires in the PP are a bit balder than the regular ones so hydroplaning is a bit easier. Just watch puddles!
My question is, can the car clear speed bumps safely?
No issue with speed bumps.. it’s really when you get into lowering the car or lip kits that you might have to angle to avoid scraping the bumper
87 is normal fuel in the us? The cheapest crap u can buy in Germany is 95 or E10 =D
Wow.. that would make a bit of a difference in this. The difference in standards in North America vs Europe is a bit wild

Hah, I had someone comment on another Mustang video that it's a perfect taco holder and now I'm questioning what I know
Looks like grabber blue
Yeah it's the new grabber blue - mixed up when I was shooting and didn't catch it in editing
That really hurt hearing velocity blue that’s so clearly grabber blue

Check engine light???
Battery icon is there because the car was in accessory mode instead of being started up!

uneven strip looks odd.
That split strip look is pretty common but always have the option to do a custom aftermarket to get the ideal look
They are Bimbo Brakes not Brembo Brakes. When you track on your way to the Grocery Store. 🤣
Definitely premium fuel otherwise it starts knocking.
Thanks for the owner feedback Kheireddine!
Sucks they take away horsepower and torque so getting 2020-2021 smh
Front tag 🤮🤮🤔
Ugh.. I know right? Side mounted would have looked so much better on this!
That 10 HP loss was a complete turn off for me, I mean I know it’s just 10 but c’mon, WHY lose it even ?!
It's because of the CARB Low Emission Vehicle III requirements. Honestly.. a stage 1 ECU tune will give you 30-50 extra hp and lb-ft of torque. More than makes up for it ;)
@@CarsWithSteve What are good tunes available for the 2022's?
@@dadeFN depends on the budget and what you want out of it. Good one is from Diablo Sport which has 91/93 tunes to more than cover the power drop from the 2021 model
why does everything have to have them ugly red seats? i mean the car is blue why not black seats.
It’s pretty rare for this car to have the red seats. The black interior is way more popular but this build is pretty unique
I actually love the red seats on this, I dont know why, but it works for me.
@@bigmikecastle They are pretty nice - if they could do that in a nice blue.. sold!

Haha just a little bit 😉
if is it not 5.0 v8 it is not a mustang
I’ve seen some pretty tricked out EcoBoost Mustangs with just as much power as the 5.0L. Can’t match that sound easily though 😉
@@CarsWithSteve I agree but the V8 engine has more personality in my opinion
@@ssalamri7302 Sound wise it does for sure. I'd go for the Active Valve with the V8.. perfect pair!
What do I think?
I think your video is 26min too long.
The magnaride and the active exhaust should have been included in the pp.
so rims/tires aside.. the PP also gives the factory gauges, heavy duty springs, k-brace, larger radiator, TORSEN diff, upsized sway bar, k-brace and tuning
If you don't care about the track benefits that come from all that you could always just do an aftermarket upgrades for what you find useful...
@@CarsWithSteve sway bar, k brace and tuning isn't a concern at all, but the torsen itself might be worth it. Good point, I did overlook that.
@@saby8765 I'm in Toronto so I know your pain! Summer or 3 season then winter tires. Shouldn't be more than $1k for install on that
Imagine going automatic in a mustang sheeeesh
Have you test driven a 10 speed Mustang GT in the past few years?
Why wouldn’t you? You can drive an auto in semi-Manuel or automatic. Manual can only be driven manual. The only reason you wouldn’t is because you can’t/don’t want to spend an extra 1,000 for auto.
As an owner of an S550 Performance Pk Mustang GT, I’m about to be your best friend. Take your money and shop elsewhere.

@@CarsWithSteve they said I was couple weeks to late
man what timing.. Honestly though.. even if you got an order in just before cutoff there's no guarantee it would be built as a 2023 model. There were 2022 Broncos that took over a year to build that came out as 2023s instead
