In this video Captain Marc talks about the new SmartTroll II system that he will be using on the Kings Landing Sport Fishing Charter Boat.
As mentioned on SmartTroll's site... Captain's who are on the water almost everyday will want Depth, Temperature and Speed data for the maximum number of lines. Getting all of your lines at the right depth and at your preferred speed is sure to get everyone to their limits as quickly as possible.
You will like being able to tell the depth and water temperature of all four Dipsy's...plus two additional lines (or any 6 lines of your choice). Perhaps you want Probes on 4 Dipsy's plus two Probes with the Paddlewheel Attachments on your downriggers for depth, temperature and down-speed data at different points in the water column.
With Smart Troll you can easily get those lines in 45 to 50 degree water at the down-speed you want. You are sure to find big King Salmon there since that is their preferred temperature. Sooner or later they always return to their preferred temperature. Or, you can skim just above the bottom or fish the thermocline or fish the exact depth where you are marking fish. The only limits are the creative ways you can think of using the Depth, Temperature and Speed data that you have always wanted.
The Probe is very small (the size of an index finger) and can be attached to any fishing line with little or no drag or impact on the depth. Depth and Temperature data is transmitted wirelessly through the water to your boat and can be displayed on any android device.

This product is a game changer for catching more fish on a consistent basis. It tells you information that nothing else on the market can. I’ve used the first generation Smart Troll for years and last year updated to the Smart Troll 2. The system has come a long way over the years. Updates include battery life to getting a stronger more consistent signal from the probes and even updates to the software used on the tablet. If your trolling and rods aren’t firing it’s more likely because its not at the depth you think it is. The currents beneath you boat change your divers and junk lines dramatically! Changing your boat just a few degrees can drop or raise your lures dramatically taking them out of temperature and even perhaps altering speed? Just like Mark said I run one probe on my downriggers, one each on my low and high divers and occasionally on my coppers. It’s nice to know exactly where your lures are at all times!

I troll with a 350 copper, will the signal be good? What is the maximum distance away from the boat? Thanks.

On coppers and lead cores I attach the probes where the mono joins the copper or lead core. This is somewhere in front of the lure at 40-50 feet. On my divers I clip it in just in front of the diver.

Please Please Please show your PS 30 install on your boat and your panoptix settings on your Garmin. Thank you for your informative videos! Can’t wait for the new content! I think the smart troll 2 will be awesome!!!

    Hey mark,
Would u even entertains doing a little experiment with your smart troll paired on your
19 strand/weighted steel rig. This way you could get more accurate depth calculations and really see if they dive curve will stay true in deep depths,
For example, to see if the dive curve would cover those deep copper applications of 400-500 coppers or weighted steel.

Mark...after four months, what is the verdict on the Smarttroll? If you have to pick one system (as a weekend fisherman and not a Charter Captain), would it be the Fish Hawk or the Smarttroll? Thanks

I’m really enjoying the SmartTroll and the ability you have to play probes on not only your down rigger but also divers and long lines. The other systems just don’t have that flexibility…

You are going to get rid of the fish hawk?
Cant wait to hear if the depth we think we got is actually what it is. Great toy!

So when the battery goes dead, you can’t replace it you know because they’ve use the special battery and what is your customer service? How long are they going to Paris producing this for me to drill holes in my boat beautiful thought, but a lot of questions to be answered.

Had my probes for two years already and working good. I know others going on 3+ years. I don’t own Smart Troll but as one of their distributors I can say their service is amazing so far..

will be interesting to see how you make out with this. I witnessed the original system in use a few years ago but I was not impressed

My biggest fear is my lines snapping and losing these probes.

hi Marc, Ae you still going to run your fishhawk? or is this system going to replace that? If running both, are you worried about interference?

How far away from the lures are you supposed to run the probe?

    • @KingsLandingSportFishing

You can clip them on the lines really anywhere you like…. I’ve got to do some trial and error when I get the setup going.

And you should see the price about $2000. I looked it up 1500 crazy braces do you know what this system is actually worth peanuts they build this for nothing hodgepodge on what it cost to produce it they make up bag in the first hundred they sell.

    • @KingsLandingSportFishing
      @KingsLandingSportFishing  Рік тому

Have you compared a single probe to competitor systems? This is very fair considering what it can do.. ie: diver depth etc… Not sure what it costs to produce but I’m willing to be there is a ton of R&D that went into this that has to be amortized across each unit sold….
Similar to a Garmin PS30 - probably costs far less that $1500US to produce, but re-coiling all the costs to make.
End of the day… You can choose to buy it, or not.. I bought it and love the system.

Oh, I don’t want you to think I’m an ass really nice video. You read it a really great job but you should’ve talked more about the price in about the company if you knew anything about it if their stand up or they just fly by night.

They are totally stand-up… I’ve personally seen them take care of a customer caused issue flawlessly…. It’s why I signed on as their Canadian distributor.
