Sea or big lake? Thanks for the tips and good video - 2:40 until 2:55, weeds, definitely no PROPELLER drive units for me. No time to pry weeds off propeller gap with knife in middle of nowhere. Thanks. All the best.
I sold mine to a friend. Besides a track snapping and some normal wear and tear its held up pretty well. My buddy still has his and hasnt used it lately but no issues. They tend to leak a little, but nothing major. Will have a cup or 2 in my kayak on long bay trips crabbing.
Yosue Caridad yo, that’s when I found out!!!!! Delivery messed it up. I fixed it with air mattress pump and boiling water. Almost like new!!! I contacted riot and they ensured me they are added a cardboard box around it to cause less damage
Average Anglers 707 yeah those are the details that wont push me to get a Riot. This is the second video i see with a dent and saw another video with the pedal broken. Even on the video from Riot you can see the pedal drive going under water even though they say it floats. Imagine how will arrive to my country if i ever order. For that price I will probably get the free lure 13.5. Is not pedal drive but i can be sure its a top quality plastic. Its a shame. I really liked the design of this kayak.
Seng Chang I’ve never been on a hobie so I can’t honestly say, but it’s well worth it’s price, handles very well in all kinds of water. Honestly if you don’t mind spending extra money the hobie is the way to go, but if you have a budget and don’t have anything kayak related you might want to get the riot. All the other gear adds up quick
John Fultz Hobies have been around forever, if you are looking for a pedal drive kayak, hobies Peddal drive is fastest and it’s not propeller so no sea grass or kelp clogging ur pedal drive. Overall hold their value better then other kayaks as well. Quality is the best on market
when youre trying to hold yourself still in a spot in current, sometimes prop drive with instant reverse is better. You can't easily reverse in a Hobie, while in any prop drive like this Riot, you can. If you don't fish, I suppose it doesnt matter.
My personal opinion I like the Jackson coosa better then mako, slightly lower price then hobie. Check out Brooklyn kayak company they have some nice looking stuff to and a fishing sup
Nice video! Have you noticed any water inside the hull after a day on the water? Some UA-camrs are saying that since there are so many holes drilled in the boat from the factory that it has problem with water making its way into dry storage. Also, any standing water inside the cockpit or are the scupper plugs draining well?
Yes we have both found water inside the hull our best deduction was the hatches were leaking but with how many screws there are in the hull that is more probable. I have some ideas to test these theories and will post if one works
As for the skupper plugs the front and back drain well however the four in the cockpit are very close to the water line and the cockpit is flat so water sits. You have to take out the plug swish the water with your hand and return the plug asap
That's due to the cheap straight cut gears. Every machinest knows helical cut gears run quiet. The manufacturers try to save money on machining cost for there profit or lower selling point It takes extra effort to cut helical gears.

This is Tomales bay so the harbored sea. Are you in the market for a pedle drive?
Hey there! good vid! Do you still use these kayaks? Any long-term info, how did these hold up ?

Those kayaks look like an awesome set up!
That's point reyes, NICE
At 3:18 looks like the bow of the kayak looks dented. Is it? And if so, why is like that?

Good demonstration. Whoever’s riding shotgun is a brave man!
Chris Standridge my buddy was in this video, but I did it the first few times
FINALLY! Some footage on choppy water. Looks like it was not taking in much water from the bow. Good vid!
For the price compare to a hobie. Would you recommend e purchasing one?

My intended use is fishing

How has your pedal drive held up have you had any issues
Dannyo957 nothing yet. Taking it lots of times in the bay and salt water
The back ground music , made me want to hurl my guts up, after a minute of it , I had to shut the whole thing down.
Good thing we’re average right?
Lol

@@averageanglers7075 Thanks for the info! Good luck!
🌟. I'm just a paddle kayak owner. Will upgrade to Hobie with a Mirage 180 fin drive soon.
Did you?
Have you ever been in other pedal kayaks?
How loud is the drive?
How is the turning radius?
Sarge's Adventures turns pretty good, and it might be one of the loudest due to the plastic gearing, but nothing too loud

Looks good. can this beach launch easy through the surf?
Shokenryu I have not honestly tested it but it was designed for that purpose and I feel confident that it will
Music really sucks.
Please just talk next time.😕
We are working on it this is one of our first videos. Thanks for the comment. Thought lines 2019
Looks like a really cheap peddle kayak
