In the Fred Astaire Dance Book, the Promenade Walk is known as "The Conversation". This is how I got introduced into the Smooth Style (also known as American Style) Foxtrot. Also, the "SSQQ" is also known as "magic step timing". This also happens in the so-called Side Sway figure.
Thank you for not doing that affected and probably not spine-healthy backwards bend. And also for being straight to-the-point with the (named!) demonstration clips.
@BucketListBuddies I’m Trying to Find The Dance Where you Grab the PerSon hands and Go in and Out and then you Spin the Person Around and Just Dance Slow But I don’t know what it’s Called
Starting foxtrot lessons tomorrow and this seems super helpful so I'm not a complete buffoon. Thank you! (A little confused on the promenade arch -- it seems the first demo set that the turn is earlier than in the second set. Are you just showing us two styles of this?)
ss qq is confusing to beginners who are new to full counts and half counts. qqs s is a better clearer rhythm. It's a triple step followed by a single step.
Wonderful demonstration. I appreciate the two camera angles for each step
Thank you so much. This is the most comprehensive demo video on
the Foxtrot Dance Steps. I am a beginner and I manage to pick up
immediately...!!
We're glad it was helpful!
I will be saying slow, slow, quick, quick all day ay my wedding haha. thank you!

P. S. And for the two different camera views, so we can see the entirety of the movements clearly, all around!
@@iprobablyforgotsomething Thanks for the support! We're glad the video was helpful!
Brilliant. Thank you.
Hi-thanks for the helpful video! I see 7 of the 11 dance steps on this video… where might I find the other 4? Thanks!

That's so exciting! Thanks for pointing that out--either way is acceptable, and it depends on what your teacher teaches or what your partner leads!
