Jeremy, just a suggestion with your drain problem. You can box that area off and put insulation on the inside to keep the draft off from all your piping. I believe that should work. I’ve done that to a couple houses here in Michigan that had that problem in their crawlspace I boxed the area and insulated the inside and they Have not had any more problems. As far as I know I have not gotten a call back so that tells me that they haven’t had any problems for a few years now….. Stay Safe and Warm my friends 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼✌🏼🪚🔨
Loving mornings with Ash:) Try adding little bit of nutmeg for the french toast too Ashley. Not a thing wrong with the Oops and I vote for more shower content by the way LOL Y'all make my day when you post! Thanks guys!
The only place the drain has water in it is the trap. I used heat tape and melted the pipe. I just wrapped the trap real well and had no more problems. Great job
I use 4 eggs, 1/4 cup of milk. No salt or sugar. Sometimes I use Vanilla and/or Cinnamon. I also use Sourdough French bread. My pan holds three slices of bread.
I always add cream or milk to the egg mixture for French toast-my Nan taught me that. I do love cinnamon and vanilla too! Greetings from northern Nova Scotia’s Brule Shore 😊
I saw that the black thermal sensor was not in contact with the pipe. I have always been told and read that if you make sure that is in tight contact with the pipe it will turn the heat one when needed and off when it is not.
Thanks, the tape is constantly on though cause it is freezing. I have been checking it. Having said that, the whole setup is temporary, I gotta get insulation on there and block the draft too.
G’day 😊 Happy New Year to you all 🎉 Ashley, that joke was killer funny! I 😂😂😂 I make my French toast with 2 eggs, milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon with gluten free bread. Then I serve it with berries and maple syrup on top 😋
I think when the weather is better I would pick a couple of crawl space paths and remove a bit more dirt to make it easier and safer for crawling. As we age and get thicker there might be a problem. Lol Hugs from Santa Barbara. 🤗😘🫶🙏🍷🌹
Ahh, the memories of working in a mobile home park, thawing pipes in the dead of winter. (9yrs) Sewer pipes were the worst, especially when they were frozen solid. Do yourself a favor and put up at least a plastic wind block around the trap besides insulating it. Oh, and that heat tape head, the black part is the thermostat and should be taped to the side of the trap at the lowest point and should only be taped on the ends of the control module leaving the sides of the thermostat exposed. On, and Ashley, that French toast looked amazing!!! --Jerry
EVERYTHING looks good in this clip, AND, I had never seen a address that one could send donations to till today ! With 154K subscribers just think if EVERY ONE only sent $1.00 how it would help their goals!
Great video , Nice Joke , good breakfast.. Jeremy's fast response to the drain problem, altogether good installment. Thank you for sharing. Buck , Stay warm and be safe and happy.
i think pool noodles would keep it from freezing. if you can find huge rounds ones that can fit on there that would be awesome. try something to keep it from freezing.
personally add whole milk or half and half to the eggs vanilla cinnamon use older bread ( not fresh) ends up similar to bread pudding but not quite and cook on griddle
We understand, the cold just kind of caught up to us and we’re throwing on what we had, etc. we wouldn’t need any of it if we had of got the dang skirting on in time haha
suggestion? take five gallon bucket cut out section for drain pipe put insulation in or around trap then secure bucket either blocking it up or stap so it covers trap to protect from cold outside air
I make the French toast like yours but when you flip it the first time I add a slice of cheese and make the best grilled cheese sandwich ever and add maple syrup as always. Give it a try. It’s fab❤❤🎉happy new year.
If you get a not to bad day maybe you could just box that elbo and stuff the box with the insulation. Plumbing sucks because it seems to always go wrong at the hardest to get to part. Have a Great week and Thanks for sharing.
I use thicker slices of French bread that is getting dry-ish. Soak it longer. Pepper. I will try vanilla next time for sure! I bet raisin bread would be tasty too.
Maybe fell a couple of trees and just put the log at the bottom of the exterior walls to close up that gap then you will always have some wood to use in the summer. Or build a box around that trap.
Glad you fixed the plumber's crack. Lol! It was starting to bother me. Speaking of plumbing...neat to see how you guys north of the border do things. I have wondered how y'all keep pipes from freezing.
that sucks.. can you staple up a strip of tyvek or plastic for skirting and put some rocks on it .. its cold down here too.. not that bad but... ... you could make a savory type egg bread with onions and peppers... stay warm if you can
What kind of bread do you use??? I don't pour the egg on top but cook after the toast and have eggs on the side with maybe salsa, cheese or what every. 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
Hello My Canadian Friends 👋, 🤣 hanky panky🌞. I add milk to my egg mixture, I guess to soak the bread? My Mum taught me a very long time ago so it could have been to stretch it too. Oh the heat gun memories , too many to tell 😳! You'll get there , it just 🤬 that the 🥶 beat you to it. JO JO IN VT 🇺🇲💞☃️
Wrap your house with heavy guage plastic like you are doing skirting,,we always did that in our old house and I live in Miramichi Newbrunswick and it gets cold here in winter
Well gee wiz. That was a funny joke story at the intro. However I would guess that the video editing needs a bit polishing. I'm sure it's never intended to present an almost plumber butt, or any other unexpected view which might be a good candidate for some pixcellation. I understand times have changed, but whatever happened to the family friendly Version In your past videos. But who am I, I'm just one of your many subscribers who loves those family friendly contents. I HOPE you won't be mad at me? About the french toast, your list of ingredients are the same as I do except I have one twist to mine sometimes.. I may use a a couple tablespoons of sour cream to beat into the egg mixture and a 1/4 tsp of nutmeg too. Oh I almost forgot, the best bread for french toast would be either Texas toast, or Challah bread. I use enough bread slices to soak up all the egg mixture as ya can save some soaked slices in a container for another day, I might suggest putting a piece of waxed paper between those slices close container and freeze.
Crawling under the house on your arms and belly is like military training. Funny how those learned skills come in handy. The French Toast looked yummy but no cinnamon.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
@@MBFModernHomesteading starting out great, thank you
The pleasure is mine, I will always stop by for ya'll !!! Any day with you in it is great!! Thank you for being so generous. Buck😍😍😍

I think the sensor on the heat tape should be taped on in contact with the pipe
I hate frozen drains! Happy New Year. May it be prosperous for you both!

the P trap probably froze as it should be the only place with standing water provided that its pitch correctly
HAPPY NEW YEAR X
A heat cable needs to be combined with insulation, the heat output is too low to work reliably without.

Loved the joke… simply skirt/insulate well the piping area until better supplies / weather. Heat tape needs help. Trap in the heat on the p-trap.
Gl!
Looking good 🫣

Your French toast looks good! I usually add a bit of milk, but I’m re-thinking that now. Thanks for the tip 💖
Pretty good plumber!
We use Egg Nog instead of milk. Buy it seasonally and freeze it in individual servings in sandwich bags
Problem Solved…As Usual.. Keep it up guys! Happy New Year! 💚🧢💕🙏
Awesome job on thawing the pipes out. Insulate it real good. Okay. Keep up the great work.
Glad you fixed the plumber's crack. Lol! It was starting to bother me. Speaking of plumbing...neat to see how you guys north of the border do things. I have wondered how y'all keep pipes from freezing.
Forgot.you should try the egg trick with Texas toast..mighty good.

I saw the pineapples on the shower curtain 😅
3 eggs , a little milk , cinnamon , a pinch of brown sugar- then scramble the leftover
so every time some one uses that bathroom you need to put that stuff in other wise it washes away after the shower or bath ?
No as this was just a temp fix
Also, it wasn’t freezing until it got to -20 with draft so probably much colder with the windchill.
Try making French toast with banana bread for a real step up treat.
Is that one fire enough to heat the entire place there ?
Yes, it is rated for over 2000 sq ft
Enjoy your coffee!
Thanks!
🫣 oops… I wasn’t looking, I swear 🤣🤣🤣
Slather some peanut butter on there and then the syrup.
I add a bit of milk, and if there is no milk , I will add French vanilla creamer.
Wrap your house with heavy guage plastic like you are doing skirting,,we always did that in our old house and I live in Miramichi Newbrunswick and it gets cold here in winter
Have you tried using raisins bread
I believe so, but it has been a while!
Geez, as I watched you cook that venison I realized my mouth was watering! 😅
Haha, it was soooo good 😊
I like the shower curtain lol
Haha thanks

There is a heating cable on it , ya must have missed me mention that :)
@@MBFModernHomesteading Guess you are right, sorry
I'd say this is good
Dear Jeremy When your wife calls you and she is in the shower You run !😅 We won't to make sure the water is going down the drain.😂

Nothing has changed, this sort of thing has happened in the past too, I think it’s funny. Nothing new for us :)
😊♥️♥️

Good joke! Nothing worse than frozen pipes!
Ask the old lady about the same questions to some politicians, but we're not surprised with her answers.
