Because lately I see some people turning this video into an opportunity to ridicule, insult and downplay Schumacher and his abilities, achievements, I'd like to clarify something - I made this just as a curious coincidence about the similar lap times achieved by both drivers in very different cars, tyres, engines, etc. Even the track layout is slightly different (the last chicane in particular). This is NOT to somehow claim that Senna is superior to Schumacher. You cannot jump to any such conclusions, considering the different circumstances. Both were exceptional drivers and the best of their generation, both gave their very best and produced some spectacular results. Let's put our biases aside and just enjoy the comparison, instead of going on about who's better and who's isn't. It's impossible to say, especially from a video like this...
Didn't 1995 cars got nerfed hard in terms of... like everything speed related after Senna's accident in 1994? Japanese GP pole time never exceeded 1:38 from 1989 until 1995. It came down to 1:34.7 at some point(no, it was Berger. Not Senna) and it wasn't a pole time for 1992, 1993, nor 1994. The fact that Schumacher in 1995 posted exactly the same time as Senna's 89 lap on a corner rich circuit like Suzuka was pretty respectable in itself...
Wow both spectacular, I would say Senna with the technology that he did or didn't have. Both fantastic drivers and hats off to both of them. Senna RIP.
7 years older technology and clearly ahead at 130r, Senna was just ahead of its time. Damn he could almost manual shift as fast as the semi automatic shift. Senna absolutely insane during qualifying, no wonder his 65 pole positions are still mentioned today nearly 40 yrs after the man passed away.
The 1995 cars were much weaker on the straights (the FIA deliberately began to slow down cars from 1994, and this is a tradition until today, as soon as cars become too fast, a new regulation appears that makes them slower).so it was Schumacher's talent in cornering that made up for the gap behind the old cars.
While Schumi had less power, which is seen before they go into the 130r, he was leading Senna before, was dropped and had to make the gain while braking and cornering before the main strait, pure talent...
Senna's 65 Poles in 10 years compared to Schumachers 68 Poles in 18 years. Senna was always quicker on a single Qualifying lap. He even had to use shift sticks. And He never cheated with the car unlike Schumacher at Benetton 1994 and FIA never punished him for the cheating or the accident on purpose against Hill in Adelaide at the final race of the season.
F1 in 89,90,91 will always be the 3 best years in the history of broadcasted formula one, as the earlier years of the 50s and 60s which are not able to be viewed as the later years of F1, are still incredible. But man, Senna piloting the very first iteration of the V10 by Honda in F1 history, 13,000rpm, 685bhp, 500kg!!! And a goddamn manual gearbox. Modern F1, get the FUCK out of my face, there is nothing you will ever or CAN ever do to top such an incredibly intense phenomenon. In my humble opinion.
Also, two complete different drive style. Ayrton extreme, Michael more fluid but equal fast. In the last big break while, Ayrton was incredible, tryed to break later and put the car in the right corner before all the others. Michael was extreme fast above all in race, but in qualifiyng Ayrton was almost umbeattable...
Paolo, what do you mean by Senna being more extreme? I see Schumacher with much more agressive steering inputs. I see MSC´s lap way more extreme than Senna´s.
Senna was still that "old" style of very aggressive, meanwhile Schumacher was the first of the modern drivers, with a more professional "scientific approach", taking more kerb, smooth input, etc
it's the Benetton B195 with 750 hp àt 14300 rpm with sequential gearbox and senna car mp4/5 675 hp at 13000 rpm with manual gearbox the gap is huge !! Ayrton Senna is the Best Driver in Formula 1 History ...
yassine bendhif haha..but schumacher with narrower tyres, wooden plank on the bottom to reduce downforce, smaller front and rear wing and non-qualifying tyres. just look how the lap times increased for the 1995 season. in the same car schumacher would beat senna,he knew very well how to use manual shift.
You see the rapid technologigcal progression of F1 during the early 1990s. Just 5 years between these two but the 1994 Benetton with a V8 and lower downforce is already quicker and more stable on the track than the 1989s McLaren.
you can not compare a manual gearbox with sequential and paddle shifter gearbox, NEVER, sorry if you dont like it but Senna in an absolutely inferior car was faster than the great schumi in this video
mbas0507 Using a manual would make hardly any difference for drivers from Sennas generation as they grew up racing with it. In fact drivers initially preferred manual to paddles as paddles were unrealiable to begin with. It's stupid comparing cars from different eras, in 95 the regulations forced cars to be slower cuz of Sennas death, here Senna is on super grippy one lap qualifying tyres were Schumacher is not.
I think this really speaks to how wild Senna's raw speed really was. This lap really was in a lot of ways just as impressive or more so than his 88 pole lap around monaco. Except this one we got footage of :) If you look at his time, over a quarter of the lap Senna pulled out 0.433 seconds over Prost, enough for a comfortable pole. And he did this 3 more times around the lap for a total of 1.730 ahead at the end. When you watch the side by sides of senna prost in their qualies of this year, it was at the hairpin where I think Senna really made up the most time
It's a really interesting comparison. I didn't realize the times were so close. Suzuka had been resurfaced during that time, but also the '95 gen cars were the first with the 50mm step and 3.0 liter engine; they'd lost a bit of pace. Smaller rear tyres too.
Senna Suzuka '89 , Prost 2nd place gap + 1,730 - Schumacher Suzuka '95, Alesi 2nd place gap + 0,865, (Johnny Herbert 9nth place on the same Benetton-Renault, gap + 2.326), Hakkinen 3nd place gap + 0,931 .. An umblivable time for Senna undiscuss pole man, but Michael so close in my opinion. Like i has yet say in the previow comment, Senna was incredible in the last braking ..
@@100flite Of course it matters. Even the current F1 cars would be slower than a 90's F1 car with rain tires for example. But to give another reason, the McLaren was way lighter.
Specs '89 3.5l vs '95 3l, wider tires in 89 and flatter underside ground effect. The 6 year tech advances in 95 bridged the gap over the superior '89 specs but equally impressive drivers. Sennas 89 pole lap though was sensational to watch.
@@ricardorodrigues1003 No the engines had similar power, Senna was driving a 3.5l engine compared to the 3.0l engine for Shumacher. The honda was probably better at lower revs coming out of corners.
@@purebloodsunite7489 i know the 89 Honda engine was 3.5 but wass less than 700 HP, the 3.0 Renault engine in 95 was more than 700, more torque too, the 95 car was much more easy to drive too
Muitos pilotos correram com o carro interior é ganharam corridas. Senna como muitos pilotos . Ganhou com o carro inferior também. Tória os pilotos foram fantásticos. Shumi ,Emerson, pique, mansel, Prost e lauda é muitos outros pilotos foram fantásticos. Senna foi fantástico. Mas cada um teve sua história.
Correct.... And Ferrari had semi auto clutch , it was basically the fore runner of sequential gearing. There is no comparison, even Hamilton has said its unimaginable how Senna raced.
@@tanginicholls207 Senna using a manual makes it far more difficult to be fast than using paddle shifters. Also Senna set a time for shumacher to aim for. Senna would have been able to outpace shumacher with a auto manual. When Senna was still alive shumacher frequently was off the pace of sennas lap times. I wish Senna never joined Williams that car he had in his last race was a bad one. Senna should have joined Ferrari instead.
Sennistas kkkkkkk só vcs pra me fazer rir kkkkkkk eu me divirto nos comentários 😂
Senna: Older Car / Less RPM / Less Power / Les grip-stability / Manual Gearbox / No Electronic / High Downforce = Slower Top Speed / around 100kg less than Schumacher's car / Clutch. Schumacher:For some reason his right foot never moves up-down because of the road bump.... / Soft Tyres, not Qualy (but 95 soft was way bettern than 89's qualy) / Around 100kg heavier car / More RPM / More Power / Less Aerodinamic / Higher Ride-height / Better performance overall (car) / Gearbox on Wheel _ -0:00:020 sec.... Conclusion: Senna was a better driver if they use equals cars, anyway both were amazing drivers in F1 history and i miss both of them, but if i have to choice one... that'll be Ayrton, even with the throttle control of Michael, that was an Human Traction Control because of his smoothnes....
Stick and shifter, unbelievable! Senna was fearless, as all the greats are. Also remember he was muscling that unruly V-12 power! So heel-and-toe on the floor and dropping a hand for shifts, at those speeds!!
I love me an ultra high revving v10 as much as the next fella, but something about those 3.5 Honda V10s of '89-90 made it sound like it'd rip your head off for looking at the accelerator wrong. Phenomenal exhaust note.
Prost was the most complete of them. I remember a meeting between Prost and Schumacher. Schumacher said to Prost that in race Prost was too fast for him.
@@danieldbdb from what ive seen its completely the opposite. SCHUMACHER>PROST>SENNA. Senna was terrible in traffic could only win from pole and usually collided with backmarkers. His title win in 1990 was rly, rly messy and the only title he won up to his standard was in 1991. Schumacher and Prost on the other hand masters of racecraft. They impressed me much more especially Schumacher who on his best day could win from last on the grid. This is why my ranking is as it is. Senna is overrated and this is coming from a previous Senna fanboy. What happened was I actually bothered to watch races and was pleasently suprised. My opinion of certain drivers changed dramatically.
Gerard pole lape on Suzuka 91's 1:34,700 - Senna + 0,198 - MS time 1:38,363 (0,251 better than Nelson). The comparison of different seasons have no sense but however are beauty to watching.. The only thing very clear here is, as always, the incredible Senna ability on the last hard brake where he makes the difference around 2 thents or a bit more. About Michael he was fast, deadly fast in qualifying and RACE above all. Senna too of course, but I prefered MS for his tempre and unusual driving style. If you testing Ayrton's car, was "drivable", Michael's no. But in all honestly I'm convinced that at the end Michael had some thing of unique. Senna was a super driver as Fangio, Nuvolari, Hunt etc, Michael out of every, imaginable thing. The driver..
Interesting. 1995 had more restrictive regulations, but technology improves so quickly year to year in F1 to offset the negative impact of them. Which probably makes the '95 cars similar in pace to the '89 cars.
the way ayrton kept his car screaming... no one could keep up with him...schumacher just had a better car with more tolerance. ayrton pushed his to a limit then fought the beast
Senna - 1988 Car - Manual Gearbox Schumacher - 1993 Car - Paddle Gear Change The !ap time is academic given the massive difference between the two cars but does again show Sennas genius
It's clear the Renault engine was better in some takes. But it is hard to compare cars of different years and analyse performances. Maybe we can assume some things but it's no more than that. Senna always opposed electronics in f1. He said that someday any monkey would drive a f1 car.
Lendas!
Senna does this 6 years before Michael which means the car is old tech compared to schu car. Senna also does the same pole time as Michael in Monaco 6 years before Michael did in 1996 2 years after his death. Quite amazing really. But these drivers are not quite as good as Jim Clark.
@@derriethelm1524 they may have removed it for 95, after all they did get the coveted Renault v10, but I’m talking about the 1994 car and it’s hidden illegal software-option 13( traction and launch control) look it my boy

On a single lap like here in qualifying, the semiautomatic gear box make a very slightly difference, may be around 1 tenth or less. Bout makes a perfect lap, but at the last hard brake, Ayrton make something that only him succeeded to do, put the front car in the chigane still on brakes and gain around 4 thents. However, that point in to '95 was modified, so it' s extremely difficult judging who is faster. Example, in the first three fast corners Michael gain something but at the fourth Ayrton return equal to Michael. Respect for bout those phenomenal drivers!!.
This is Senna the '89 correct pole time by Ayrton and the same about the' 95 pole time by MS. In my opinion the only esplaine for this controversy is the different finish line, just a bit anticipate on '89 Suzuka circuit. There is'nt another possible explaine..
Remember 1995 was the first year with a stepped floor, the cars were quite slower compared the previous years with the flat floor. A lot of downforce lost in 1995
very different cars. 1989 has more power and wider tyres, 1995 has a semi automatic gear box and better brakes. People seem to forget 1995 cars were VERY SLOW because of the deaths in 1994. Take this video as a curiosity in how different cars can make a very similar time on the same circuit, little else.
That's the point of the video - a curious coincidence. In terms of specs, there are some important similarities too - engine peak power output for both cars at around 700 hp, weight for both at 500 kg. What Senna in his McLaren perhaps had as an advantage with wider qualifying tyres, Schumacher in his Benetton compensated for with better aerodynamics. Both are obviously extracting the absolute maximum, from their cars in qualifying, so the purpose of this is just to enjoy and not to argue who is better.
People seem to forget that this is Senna in his prime, while Schuey was still in his early years. Even though Schumacher was driving a superior car, you can still appreciate Senna's brilliance. Let's not get involved in throwing sh.t to each other, just watch two extraordinary driver doing what they lived for. Peace.
I mean, both had around 5 years of F1 experience under their belts in their respective videos. Sometimes is easy to forget that Senna only raced for 10 years in F1 before dying, given his legacy. I just wish Senna survived '94 and competed more against Schumacher. We were robbed a great rivalry. RIP Ayrton and God bless Michael and his family.
Ayrton on the brakes was an monster, but about the cars comparison is very difficoult say some thing. Senna's car was an bi turbo with 600 hp, so with a great torque in exit of the corners and increase the engine rpm. Schumacher's Benetton an aspirate engine with 640 cv that work better at highs rpm. However on one lap Senna was an undiscussed master, but Michael was an incredible talent, probably the only one in long run. So in this video we can see the best of Ayrton and not the best of Michael..
Yeah they both were exceptional drivers, but you can feel the speed on Senna's video, i think Senna was more extreme, always to the limit and had that instinct to achieve every curve perfectly... Schumacher was more a classic driver like Prost, driving without taking risks and always 2 o 3 degrees away from the limit... They both were incredible, but Senna will always be the "example of what a driver should be".
Benetton was 25Kg heavier, soft tires, smaller rear tires, but i think it had 65 more HP ..750HP total. Aero Wise, Benetton probably had slightly more drag and slight less down-force on the under-body.
@@purebloodsunite7489 Yeah, I think you right. 680HP for the Honda. In 1993 Shumi managed 1.37.530 with his 700HP Benetton, that with more driver aids and down-force.
The power difference was around 40 hp (650 V10 Honda - 690 V10 Renault), but the McLaren set up was the lowest possible, while the Benetton tall by the asphalt was forced to be higher by the wooden step below the car. That explaine why in six years the down force was equal. The only difference was the steering assistance and the gears back the steering, but in my opinion that would give a vantage around one tenth/sec per lap in a qualifying lap. Senna knows very well Suzuka, much better than Michael. However, in qualifying Ayrton would to be extremely aggressive an the only difference was at the last hard brake. He succeeded to braking before the last and slow chigane in a very singol way and gain thents, it's clearly visible. For the rest was a draw. I think that MS with the same Ayrton experience and same car would have fight hard at every GP for takes the pole. I still remind when Hakkinen DEBUT, beat Ayrton by 48 milliseconds in Aida '93 and i' m very disappointed that not exist a comparison about it. And what about Spa '93 where Benetton and McLaren had the same engine power (720hp)?. Schumacher second place back Damon but a had Alain on WILLIAMS!. Ayrton 4th at 1':39.763, MS gap by Hill, only 3':668 and Alain 3rd at 11":320 by Michael a driver with only two years of experience in F1..!.
There are other differences too. Senna was using qualifying compound tyres, which were wider too, compared to those from 95. Overall the McLaren had more drag. Also the gearboxes, wheelbases and even the fuel were different as well. Lastly as others have pointed out, the chicane in 95 was a bit different position and layout. We also have to assume the asphalt was changed at least once too. Lots of differences overall, which is why it makes it a nice coincidence that they did such similar lap times. And I don’t think Schumacher wasn’t pushing, it’s just that his car is more stable so it looks smoother. If you look up Senna onboards from 93 and 94 with the narrower tyres, he’s much smoother too compared to in the past.
@@deathtrooper2048 true, with a triple torque than B195 right?. That's why in exit of curve Ayrton MP4/5 acceleration allowed to gain a bit. However two completely different car and phenomenal drivers. In "the list" of the faster drivers ever, Michael is back only to Ayrton around 115 milliseconds, in therd place Lewis with a more than a double gap. But is only a list. In race mutter a lot the ability in driving where bout wasn't seconds to anyone, but also others stuff like the endurance, where Michael was supreme.
No, I made this video simply because I noticed the coincidence of their lap times being so similar, nothing more. Besides, it's interesting to compare the difference in technology and driving style between the two cars and drivers. There is no objective to suggest any of the two drivers is superior... The track layout is slightly different at the chicane area, but otherwise the same.
MP4/5 weight 500 kilos x 700 hp - B195 weight 600 kilos x 690 hp. I don't know if this details was realy, for sure the B195 had a better aerodinamica, but here we would see that during the initial fast corners Schumacher was faster than Ayrton, than the incredible MP4/5 power and lite, especially in the last fast corner, gain some meters in straight. Too difficoult understand who between them was faster, but for sure this compare show to all a battle between two F1's titans...
OK I'd bet my mom for it: cars and drivers changed - Senna in the B195/Renault 750HP and sequential gearbox - and you would definitely see a difference! Senna, the undisputed BOSS.
You just witnessed Senna completely outclass Michael Schumacher with a manual gearbox in a car that is 6 years behind in all aspects of aero and engine.
Comment 1 comment 2 bellow. The fact that senna could drive that bucket of shit on the left just as fast is remarkable man. We really missed out on the battles with them. I think senna would’ve dominated the 90s and then the 2000s still would me Michael just maybe not as much cause senna would be old them probably retire around 04 if not even earlier and the newer cars probably wouldn’t fit his style of aggression and attack. F1 slowly became more ab buttons and manage ment not saying it’s not as hard just saying for senna he made his time on raw speed and skill. He still would be dominant just not what he was cause the cars senna drove took another level of push to get what senna did out of it and the newer cars especially now a days that curve has been shortened so it takes way more then skill to be fast and its a lot less ab just pure driving it’s ab a lot of other stuff. That was also a thing in the 90s it’s why senna went to Williams but he showed the years he had less he was still competing and at times dominating. Like Michael and Lewis and others have proven before sometimes the team switch is the best thing and I think if senna would’ve lived how’s Williams years would’ve been incredible. Sure Michaels car in the video had less power but Michaels car was also way more stable. Sennas car was all over the place idek how it’s humanly possible to do what senna did. He drivers so far on the limit that he basically is crashing but constantly saves it but does it in such a way he doesn’t lose any time. So many times especially the chicane he should’ve lost it under breaking and spun but he threw it in there and basically anyone else would’ve wreaked but he completely fought the wheel and it allowed him to not wheel hop the car and break later and just right on the possible edge of making the corner. It’s almost like the world set him up to not crash. He basically is crashing but a force basically himself somehow manages to keep him on the track. He was one with the limit. Him and the limit were very close friends. He had such a understanding of there friendship that it allowed him to always go further and further and the faith he had in himself to do it. Most people even the best f1 drivers wouldn’t risk it every lap almost like he does. Basically Pastor Maldonado the difference is senna could control it. Maldonado did the same thing the difference is he couldn’t control it and would go to he wreaked. Senna went right a tiny bit over the edge but just enough that is was controllable and he wouldn’t crash even tho many times he should’ve and if he pushed just 1% more he would be wreaking over and over and 1% less he would not be as fast and his style of basically controlled mistakes wouldn’t pay off like it did and he would be slower rather then faster. That’s why his throttle technic worked. People always asked what it does but I’m no senna but when I drive in games I use something similar and controlling the spikiness of it if u have a loser car allows u to turn the car with the gas. Basically u mash the gas to drift a tiny bit in a sense which allows a tiny bit more speed. It also worked out well cause old f1 cars had not as much downforce idk if it would work now a days. It would only work if the cars had still enough power to have wheel spin which old f1 cars had enough that even in fast corners it would work but I think there is too much downforce for it to work at a lot of the tracks.
Comment 2 comment 3 bellow It would work in the slower corners but not at the high speed ones. A good portion of f1 corners u have to slow down now cause u will miss the corner and get tight but u can mash the gas almost any time once that ends and get almost no wheel spin. It still happens just not as much as now. Senna was able to control the wheel spin and get the car to turn more then it should and then it was ab himself controlling the wheel spin out of the corner to not crash and get the benefits from it in a way. Just like how dirt cars u use the brake and throttle to control the car and the more u mash the gas and get the car sideways the more speed u get. Senna was just flat out able to control the slide and it works even better in high speed corners where not really brake is needed and not much off throttle time is needed. If he held the gas he would just miss the corner. If he let off then just mashed the gas he would spin out unlike f1 now where u would miss the corner kinda no matter what. He would essentially mash the gas enough to initiate the spin then slowly counter it then as it slowly came back mash the gas again to make it continue to spin around the corner in a way that is basically slightly drifting. He could like everyone else let off till the car settles and then continue to the apex like most do. Instead senna did both. He did slow down but he also mashed the gas to turn the car. People say it was like traction control but in a way it was but it also wasn’t cause even traction control would stop the slide with the wheels which wouldn’t help. People also say it was the turbo but he did it way before he was in f1 and after the turbo days and still was incredibly fast so for sure it wasn’t the turbo at all. Senna gained his speed by the slight slide in the wheels and being able to tame it. That’s also why he was so damn good in the rain. It wasn’t really traction control he was just so good at controlling the slide. The big part of crashing he understood well. In the rain the dirt track effects play even more of a roll. Michael Schumacher was so fast cause he could keep the car balanced and right on the limit but not really stepping over just perfectly balanced. Senna he stepped over that line and got a few bits of extra speed. In the rain Michael was so fast cause again like I said his ability to keep the car balanced. He also tried to make every corner as straight as possible which allowed him to have more speed out of the corner overall which is something alot of drivers get taught they just can’t do it consistently like every lap like Michael cause the either over break or under and enter the corner slightly different every time. Michael was like a computer he did the same thing every lap or so close to it and was right on the edge but is balance was so good that it kept him fast he was also one with the limit just in a different way. Senna stepped over that line slightly kinda drifted the car around the track. That’s another reason why if u watch sennas on boards he is constantly fighting the wheel so much more then everyone else cause he is essentially always ab the crash but his ability and his trust in himself would keep him from so. Basically the only way sennas style would work now is if the cars had more power to equal the downforce, if the cars had way less downforce, that or his gear ratio was different so he could still get wheel spin cause his ability was all ab wheel spin. The more wheel spin the better for senna. His technique would definitely work in the rain still no matter what. Overall I think senna was the faster driver at overall speed and just raw speed but I think as time progressed since Michael was fast in a different way.
Comment 3. His skill would prevail as balance and running right on the limit and his ability to straight line the corner all still apply to modern f1. Sennas would too if they could find a way to always have his wheels spinning for him and so he could turn it with the car. The problem for senna is the skill gap is less prevalent now then it was so if anything his driving style might not pay off and he possibly could just make more mistakes then gain. He would try to turn the car with the gas and it wouldn’t spin and he would just get tight and over drive the corner costing him loads of time. Modern f1 cars are also way more twitchy and the limit isn’t as rideable and stepping over the limit. They are more forgiving overall but when u try to correct a slide it’s way harder to do so now as u kinda just wreck. U can still save it but it’s harder to even tho this is we are talking ab I bet he could manage that too and figure it out. Also the fact that f1 is way more ab changing buttons every lap and settings and car then just raw speed that would also hurt senna. Not saying he couldn’t learn it just u don’t get speed the same way u used to most the time. A lot of its car over driver and certain settings. Basically the teams would have to work hard to provide him with what he needs to be fast. They would have to find a way to get his style to still work and they could do that by also putting less downforce on the car for him. He would have more straight away speed but also way more wheel spin. I think it would work if they made the necessary changes for him and made it fit is style but even with that I don’t think yk he would be different and faster but he wouldn’t be seconds faster a lap like he was at times vrs everyone else it would be more like 0.050 a lap so it wouldn’t be as pronounced and obvious. Im just saying tho if u didn’t make any of those changes and threw him In Lewis’s car rn I doubt he would be fast at all and if anything slow full of mistakes till a team did the changes. The difference is f1 teams don’t really work to give u what u need exactly anymore so senna would’ve came in, in modern f1 and looked like a bust off the start cause the teams think they know best now and don’t work with the driver. They silence them, give them team orders, basically give them what they do and kinda expect them to be happy with it. They then if u fail look at it like well our other driver can do it why can’t u instead of trying to actually help and build them to what they can be. All the time drivers say this car is terrible man and the teams basically shut them up and make them silent. They only listen when u have a name behind urself but u can’t make a name unless they help or u fall into something that works off the bat then go to a new team then they will listen so that’s why senna possible would work now cause his name and teams would be willing to do anything to help change it and make it better cause he is “senna.” Either way that’s my piece on all of this. This is also why I think is bs when people say he lost it trying to stay a head of Michael or his crash at imola was his own mistake. Senna wouldn’t of made that mistake especially that bad of one. He my of spun or missed the corner and end up in the grass a few seconds pushing too hard cause we saw it at Monaco when he crashed but that’s cause the walls have 0 give or space so one mistake and u hit it no run off room or anything but he wouldn’t of ever unless he wasn’t in control of the car go head on into the wall the way he did. He was logically almost around the corner anyway so the hard part of entertaining the corner was over and that corner was basically flat out on its own so for some people to say senna made a mistake that’s insane to say or not truly understand his ability. Making a mistake in that corner was kinda hard to begin with so even what I listed earlier seem unlikely to ever happen in that corner. The corner was super dangerous but it wasn’t difficult by any means and only dangerous if something goes wrong. The corner itself was probably one of the easiest on the track if not the easiest. Unfortunately because of it his talents will never be fully known. His potential or whatever he would’ve become will never be known and we as people truly missed out on all the amazing battles between him and Schumacher and we missed out on a true legend and personal who was willing to give 110% if not even more commitment to what he wanted to do. He choose a career path and was 110% committed to it till the end. I think that’s what we missed out most on is his commitment and motivation and speeches. Missed out on his drive and willingness to push himself as far as he could go to find his own limits and build on them and understand himself to the best of his ability he even said all this himself. He was willing to do and take the risks it took to be the best even if it ment putting himself in jeopardy even once in awhile others. It’s why he didn’t want friends within f1 cause they got in the way of his goals. Outside of f1 kinda ok but inside he knew he couldn’t have them to be the best and knowing it was also dangerous too he didn’t wanna get attached to people that could very well be gone in a instant in that environment. He knew that would effect his drive to be the best. He was more then a fast f1 driver. He worked every day to be the best version of himself until fate stepped in and we got robbed.
@@tamezzodiac2862 z Different circumstances, Senna had super qualifying tires, more power, Schumi had flappy paddles, more down force etc Impossible to compare really, just admire both.
@@Ghost_Lap I said they are both remarkable and if anything I said both their strengths I was simply explaining senna himself and I even said how I feel Michael would be more fitting for modern f1. I never really said who is better. I just said how senna was so quick. People already know how Michael was quick didn’t really need an explanation but how senna was so quick everyone kinda seems to see it wrong when it’s brought up. It’s not the turbo and it isn’t really a traction control thing either. I also said we got robbed of an amazing future between the 2. Also said more ab how modern f1 isn’t like it used to this wasn’t really a comparison between to 2. Maybe it seemed that way and maybe I said it wrong but in actuality I didn’t mean that it was more of a breakdown of sennas raw speed and just the person he is. If anything me being such a huge senna fan I gave him more negatives basically the whole half of one comment saying how idk if his style would work in modern f1 but gave suggestions on how it might.
Thanks for that comment man. Trolls needs get afk and take baths. Bloody nitwits spreading poison everywhere.
Senna the Best.

Ayrton was the real qualifying champion, no one can ever beat Ayrton’s qualifying achievements

You see the rapid technologigcal progression of F1 during the early 1990s. Just 5 years between these two but the 1994 Benetton with a V8 and lower downforce is already quicker and more stable on the track than the 1989s McLaren.
lol look at all the other tracks. The 1995 cars blew the '89 cars away in terms of qualifying laptime
you can not compare a manual gearbox with sequential and paddle shifter gearbox, NEVER, sorry if you dont like it but Senna in an absolutely inferior car was faster than the great schumi in this video
mbas0507 Using a manual would make hardly any difference for drivers from Sennas generation as they grew up racing with it.

Except this one we got footage of :)
If you look at his time, over a quarter of the lap Senna pulled out 0.433 seconds over Prost, enough for a comfortable pole. And he did this 3 more times around the lap for a total of 1.730 ahead at the end.
When you watch the side by sides of senna prost in their qualies of this year, it was at the hairpin where I think Senna really made up the most time

I'm pretty sure the close time was more to do with track conditions than it is about Senna > Schumacher.
A lot of downforce lost in 1995
Unquestionably, Senna’s was the faster AND more violent lap
very different cars.
Looking at this, the MP4/5 looks faster than the B195 in the Straight and the B195 looks faster than the MP4/5 in the Corner.

*McLaren... A nervous car!!*

Here that great sound off the Honda engine just senna and the power of that Honda engine got that time no driver aids like Schumacher had
Lol Everyone in the comments ignoring the 500cc displacement difference.
Senna tirando leite de pedra.
Não acredito que há essas comparações
Benetton was 25Kg heavier, soft tires, smaller rear tires, but i think it had 65 more HP ..750HP total. Aero Wise, Benetton probably had slightly more drag and slight less down-force on the under-body.
no the 95 renault had just under 700bhp, pretty close to what the 89 honda had.
The mclaren im 1989 was a turbo v6, not a v10 which was 1990.
Incredible
O schumi é o eterno Dik Vigarista
Ayrton Senna …..The man from another dimension .
Wow Schumacher was massively ahead by turn 1. He was slower in the turns.
OK I'd bet my mom for it: cars and drivers changed - Senna in the B195/Renault 750HP and sequential gearbox - and you would definitely see a difference! Senna, the undisputed BOSS.
You cannot compare 1989 vs 1995 car. Anyway Senna makes the same time with 6 years older car.
One car has clutch. The other doesn't. Let that sink in.
How the hell can you compare Senna's manual gearbox 1990 mp4/5b to a 1995 Ford automatic benetton?
Senna was more fast, look at
💜💜💜💜
I’d like to take away a doubt: in the right side Schumacher was driving a Benetton Renault, right? On the left side Senna was in a McLaren MP 4/5?
Yes
@@hristoitchov Thank you!
Comment 2 comment 3 bellow
It would work in the slower corners but not at the high speed ones.

Different circumstances, Senna had super qualifying tires, more power, Schumi had flappy paddles, more down force etc Impossible to compare really, just admire both.
This wasn’t an comparison really tbh.
@@tamezzodiac2862 To your point of Senna driving a bucket of ...., I actually think it's a blessing in disguise. Back then, Senna could really showcase his God given talent even more so than the likes of Hamilton or Verstappen can do in today's modern areodynamic cars.

Instead of this, you Guys like to watch ""Senna-Movies""
But at least you should try from time to time watch one or two real Races.
