look how much senna is fighting with the car insane
most of it is down to not having powersteering /steering aid... many of those movements on the wheel came from bumps and so on... you can see this behavior on nearly every f1 car up till 1996? (don't know exactly but I think it was 96) when powersteering / steering aid was introduced in f1 .. since the suspension geometry became so extreme.. that they weren't be able to drive like that over a longer period of time...
however never the less .. yes that means they were fighting with the cars back then... if you want it to turn you need force it to turn .. especially at high speed corners were all the downforce is pushing the car down.. they were steering their whole upper body strength

if you start to watch Senna's footages than you start to realize why all the greatest drivers alive keep saying he was the best ever! In the rain he did races that no one else Did until today even with these modern cars. Schumacher and Senna were in superior levels!!

Very cool to see the speed differential between the MP4/5 and F2001. I felt like those laps were a bit closer time wise than they probably should have been, but we have to remember that Schumacher was in a race (therefore being a bit conservative) and Senna was on a quali lap (therefore going at it for all it was worth).

Sgt_Koriander I think the Senna clip is speeded up. The fastest race lap in that 2001 race was 1.36.9. Back then there was not the huge variation in lap times during a race that there is now, so i think its safe to say Schumacher did a 1.38.5 at worst. Sennas pole lap in 1988 was 1.41.8. So even taking the qualifying vs race lap into account, it is clear that one of these videos is slowed down/speeded up.

Watching some one go around a track and saying one is better than the other is stupid! Both drivers have a different style. Schumacher drives his car Senna horses his car around the track. Both methods are effective but Senna is a lot harder on a car.
They should have shown a comparison of Michael and senna using cars of the same year if there is footage

Schumacher's lap was affected by flags of some kind. Senna's wasnt. And the former was in a race, where fuel comes into play, whereas the latter was qualifying.
You can see how much harder Senna has to work than Schumacher who is in a more modern car

Half right. The more modern cars are button or paddle gearboxes, no need to remove a hand from the wheel. Senna is Godlike in the gearshifts. 65 pole positions, 41 race wins and numerous fastest laps will testify to the skill needed for manual gear shifts. I am genuinely curious as to what Ayrton would think of modern F1 with so many changes since he passed. But we will never know. Possibly the closest person to ask is Alain Prost, the two were bitter rivals, certainly, but both were teammates for two years, and had a understanding of each other. No better person to ask.

On braking Ayrton was incredible, but his driving stylee was good in qualifiyng session not during the race. How many time i saw him jump in a had and goes away but at middle race in trouble for the tyres consume be overtaked by Alain ..
