Yes. It is actually easier to replace the screen as a whole unit. Myself, I would not be in a rush to do a glass only replacement. I've seen how it is done but never done one myself.

It's easier to get the screen with the frame included that's what iam doing off eBay and a battery replacement

Does it need to be fully disassembled like this if all I'm replacing is the glass and not the underlying screen

If the phone is still functional, I would order the sreen assembly and replace it as I did in the video.
