I like it how Greg says "I'll see you tomorrow" at the end of every video because now he really means it.
Gerg you and your family are awesome keep up the hard work.
You have the cutest daughter. It made my heart melt when she helped you in the beginning of the video.
So glad theres daily uploads now
If you want to send me some measurements, I’ll make custom spacers for you out of billet aluminum
A 4x4 conversion would be so sick, super excited to see how this truck turns out
Can’t wait to see what you do with this! I bought some merchandise and you both had it shipped out so fast I was really impressed! Keep doing what your doing and build the VE
Greg! Please build this truck as a tow rig so you can have a 1st gen set up hauling the flatbed with the other 1st gen on it
That’s awesome Greg can’t wait until my daughter and me can work on some projects once I get some space!
I love seeing my daughter figure stuff like that out. Especially when working on the project.
I envy the cleanliness of this truck has... working on my 01 now, fixing rust of course.
I did these same springs on my first gen last year, they worked amazing. lifted my front almost 3 inches
I heard they make it ride harsh? Any truth to that
Where you buy the springs?
Number 1, great job raising a little mechanic, number 2, the springs are probably stiffer than the stock ones
5:10 Looks like you may have yourself a future wrenching buddy there. So awesome!
😂 her face said "dad what's taking so long? this goes like that" 😂😂😂😂
Love that truck. Can't wait to see what you're going to do to it. Keep making videos on this truck.
Awesome awesome video Greg A, much much better. Totally changed the look of it. Baby A, came out to lend a hand, she did put the coil pad back on the one side lol. I think new shocks, and possibly new coil pads would lift it even more get it closer.
There’s a little horse shoe looking spacer that goes under the spring it’s kinda hard to install the spring and the spacer and it rides super stiff but it’s a good looking ride height I have the spring and the spacer on my truck
My ram front caliper was locking up turned out to be the brake hose. I'd highly recommend replacing the hose even if you opt for another caliper.
Day late and an inch short. Decent shocks might lift it some also. Did that to a d150 stepside i had. Put new shocks and the truck went up an inch. Put new springs and the rear leafs needed to be replaced to make it level. Stock parts i might add.
Saying it again VE pump build 😂 and a 4” exhaust
Adam Knight dual 5 inch
I was looking to fix the same issue on my d350, and what a lot of people did with the 250s was put the 350 front springs on to fix that issue
Glad to see you on this journey!
Greg I put that same spring on my truck and put a 2 inch spaced on top it barely fit but I got it and it rides great
I put d350 springs in the front of my truck and it raised my truck 3 inches and now after a year it’s sitting at 2 3/4
Don't forget to take into effect the weight of the fuel tank and steering column/box on the drivers side helping it sit a little lower.
Thank you for the daily content Mr A
Doing this to one of my first gens here pretty soon. Already have the springs sitting in the garage. Gotta get the 1st gen crew cab painted first though
Significant improvement. Made a heck of a difference.
Woo Hoo 4x4 the grandpa truck!!!👍
I like that truck. I also liked that phrase that you were trying to hide with a cough. 4wd👍👍👍
I put aluminum spacers in my 2wd firstgen and kept blowing balljoints I replaced 3 balljoints before I just said screw it and took em out haven't had a problem since I took them out.
Have to admit, giggled a little when you said you could go for another inch lol.
Did you ever find out about the coil spacer? I found some on Ebay aluminum ones look like horseshoes but instead of flat they are triangular
Greg, I've had 3 of these 1st gen's all gassers....2 and 4 wd but these trucks always sit an 1 inch or so lower on the drivers side! Even if you replace all 4 springs they still sag to the drivers side. Add up everything.....steering column, fuel tank, the driver, and all the little odds and ends in the engine bay on the driver side and it's a couple of hundred lbs heavier to the driver side with a full tank of fuel! Love the first Ben's though!!!!
First gen's.....lol
It might be the rubber brake line holding pressure in the caliper I've had that happen before
If I remember correctly far from stock has a lift kit for the d250s
It’s looking better my man! Would these springs work with a 90 d150 gas?
Heck yeah man! I am in the process of 4wd swap on my 7.3 F250 Superduty.
Love the sawzall clip!
Just bought an identical to this today. But much rustier!
Love the videos everyday!! Keep up the good work and making them longer 🤘🏻
Make sure you buy some shock extenders. They just thread onto the threads. You can get a leveling kit off eBay for $50 go with the smallest one you can get otherwise it puts a lot of strain on those upper ball joints. I have videos about it on the UA-cam.
Maybe the new springs were made of a slightly larger diameter material which gives them a higher spring rate.
Will this work for my 92' D350??????? You don't even want to see what the front end of mine measures!
Maybe the new springs were made of a slightly larger diameter material giving them a higher spring rate Greg.
Those first gens always have a little bit of lean to the driver side. Idk exactly why, but part of the reason could be gas tank location, I got an 86 w150 with a 30 gallon tank, and it had a noticeable lean to the driver side.
Lovin the daily videos!
where did you find this truck in a time capsule. my god i gotta move out of canada.
If you measure from the bottom side of the wheel ( where the tire bead meets the wheel ) to the bottom of the fender, It will be a more accurate measurement by taking the ground and tire out of the equation.
lift spacers are listed on Ebay fyi
I went through the same process on my first gen Greg. Get some 2” front coil spacers for a 99-07 Chevy 1500 and you will be set 🤘🏻
Pry Bar Garage 99-07 Chevy 1500 is a torsion bar front end. 07.5 and up is when the went to coil over in the front.
@@shawnburmania9209 hes talking about 2wd
james steiger ah that makes sense. Sorry my mind is stuck in 4wd.
Hey Greg i use a Rox suspension 2 1/2 inch spacer I’ve ran them on my last three first gen’s they have worked perfectly I currently have them on one now they’re roughly about $40 for a set
Greg please get yourself some impact swivel sockets
Measure the free height of the spring against a 2nd gen spring 2 or 4wd, outside and inside diameter as well, dont be surprised if there the same but taller, put them in
Greg, can you go air ride? I've seen airbags built into the strut. Personal preference, that would be ideal
Damn i cant find springs for my 99 f250 but they got some for dodge for 90s models. That truck would look good with a visor
Wheres Johnny sendit
Keep it simple for now, upgrade as needed. Looks like a great long term project
Try farfromstock, I think they sell front coil spacers for a d250
Son you gotta like these trucks 👊🏻
You should do a lifted build on this first gen
I put new springs in my 91 and holy shit the difference!! Waaay better
Enough working on trucks, start working on the pete, it's been apart for awhile. Weston that bought the sleeper bunk off truck done painted it and installed it, now let's see you finish yours 👌
theres universal coil spring spacer at most auto parts stores a 2" gives you a good 1¼ lift
Were did you get the springs from
Mcbay performance coil spacers made for our year trucks 👍 like $70 I believe
That would look killer if you could find a set of Mickey Thompson Big Rig's for it.
Even though the springs are physically the same unloaded the load rate of the springs is where you get the ride height difference.
Put rubber hose on the springs top and bottom
FFS has a 2 inch leveling kit
It might not be a bad caliper, it could be a bad rubber line going to the caliper. I had them collapse on my old second gen.
If you dont name this truck "Gramps" I'll be so sad! 😂😂
I like it
Go on ebay you can get levelingkit/pucks. I baught 3in for my old 2wd 1st gen
Just did mine a couple months ago. Ebay, they're like $35. Works perfect.
If you need a front axle for your 4wd swap let me know.
Looks allot better
I’ve been trying to find a lift kit for my 2wd bricknose f250 do you happen to know where I could find one or if I could just use a F-150 lift?
Why dont you just take the block(if there is one) out from underneath your rear springs like all your other trucks🤔?
I don’t know if i have missed something but why is greg still working on the ground? It’s about time for a good lift.
I purchased coil spacers for my d 250 off eBay
Far from stock store sells 2inch rubber space isolaters
A are you gonna move back to Jersey
If you count the coils from the old to new spring, old has 7 coils new has 8 that’s where you’re getting your stiffness and height from
Hey man we need a meet up after all this crazy crap is over id forsure be down to come buy merch in person and meet u
That cough sounds expensive bahahaha
That looks like the same set up on 2nd gen 2wd I can send you one to try
That is one minty Ram🤙🏽
Personal opinion id like to see this thing replacing the 08 as a daily driver nothing too too crazy on HP numbers but good clean reliable daily around 450ish
Ohhhhh gonna be a bad larrryyyyy!
Hit up farfromstock for the spacers
Hey greg mr. Gasket rubber coil spacer 1285 summit has them. I used the same coil springs as you did with these spacers and leveled my d350
If you 4x4 it leave it a sleeper would be a nice sleeper with the stock wheels lol
Ya there called leaf springs lol 4x4 grampa style
Farfromstockstore.com. Has a 1st gen 2”lift/leveling kit I will be getting it soon
measure the coil diameter, order from daystar.
Story of my life “just need another inch” 😂🤣
my first gen and that truck has something in common
they both dont have front bumpers
21K views and only 2K likes? He's on UA-cam fulltime now everyone go slam that like button.
Greg’s daughter is going to be the worlds best diesel tech mark my words
dont forget, you could always twin charge it.
Different spring rate
