This was truly a WrenchWorkz video!!!
greg knows lots of johns
Congrats
4x4 swap on my favorite truck..........sweet
Get better soon Greg
Getting close to 100k... nice work
smashed hand thumbs up deserves a like
Change the ball joints and use MOOG ball joints.
I don’t like massive lifted truck but I feel like this truck could pull it off so good
Man...I was literally looking for video on how to change the springs on these truck and of course I find it after I change mine...Oh well haha. Nice truck 👌
I like this type of video
Hope you get to feeling better
I want my first generation to go down!
Sweet im actually doing a lift as well.
we gotta get you to 100k!!!
ur there do the ball joints
Greg, instead of using the pickle fork, smack the part of the knuckle where the ball joint seats with a good sized hammer. This way you don't tear the grease boot getting everything apart.
Being your in there might as well put some moog ball joints in vs replacing the boots you won't have to worry about dealing with it again small price to pay while it's torn apart than putting some universal grease boot that won't seal properly. Love the channel Greg keep it up!! Congrats on you and the misses with baby #1 wish you the best keep up the content. Best wishes from Idaho
Never clicked so fast
Get Well!!!! Love You, Love You Bye............
You should totally make the 05 the new tow pig.
Great video...my opinion is..once it's open it hard to reseal again..but i think u should try to c if u can get the boots..
Tear it apart, look at it,take something else apart, think about it.Thats greg a.
Awesome vid Greg. I’d do ball joints while ur doing it but ur call. Can’t wait for the next vid. Hope you feel better. Bye love you bye
Ouch!!! on smacking the hand, it looked swelled up, I know that had to hurt!!!....Glad to hear the family is doing well.... I guess if I was on a budget trying to save some money I would just replace the covers on the ball joints, but if ya could find them cheep enough may be money ahead to change them... Thanks for all the video's!! I am a Ford powerstroke owner but I enjoy watching ya work on Dodges because I believe there is good and bad in all brands..
You opened it, broke it, so replace it. Nice side / side of the spring. There’s your 1.5”! Great vids keep it up. Central Mass
You should build a lifted wagon for the baby, for truck shows
Check out the blacked out 19 ram 1500... That thing looks sexy... I get what you're saying about the rams with the chrome bumpers but with everything murdered out... Well it just F'n works!!
send it!
do the balljoints
I know pressing ball joints suck but might aswell since your there
Lol waking the is a sure sign to pack it in. Next time preload the knuckle with a block of wood and a floor jack. Then blast it with a hammer to jar it. It works well enough I don't own pickle forks.
I'll change the ball joint while I'm at it change one change both
Is this the first voice over video you’ve done greg? I kinda like it
Greg really enjoy your videos even though I only work on my truck if I have to or to save money. I am more into Snowmobiles and ATV's you would be able to tell from my youtube channel. I have an 06 Duramax crew LT LBZ that I tow my toys with and use for daily driver. Make sure you take care of your wife and spend time with her now because once chidren enter the picture your time will be much more limited. I am sure you know this. I have twin boys and they are now 17 so I kind of have my freedom back. Enjoy every minute with them though.
Muscle man greg
Just man handling the transmission and transfer case
A simple trick to keep the bearing grease from getting all over it to wrap a zip lock bag over the spindle.
Check rock auto I bought control arms for my 63 c10 for my friend because they were dirt cheap. Unless you are going with a different control arm. But if you're staying factory I would just swap it. Piece of mind.
Nice to hear Mamma & Baby are doing well Gregger. God Bless you brother!!
I’m a huge ford fan, but you’re one smart guy and got yourself a new subscriber, don’t tell the other ford owners..😬
J Tumbarello im a ford owner and a subscriber have been since the beginning but i manage a fleet of cummins trucks too lol
Ford bronco owner here
ive never been a cummins guy but he makes me consider buying one all the time. lol
For warning if you do the ball joints the upper ball joints are thread in, not press. Not sure if you knew that but I wish the people that did the ball joints on mine before I did knew that because they pressed them out and welded new ones in. Got the special socket at autozone it’s oem I think it was $30 and they won’t know what you are talking about when you say a ball joint socket. But good luck, love the channel.
I'd replace both upper and lower ball joints on both sides now so like in a year or so you don't have to take that all back off
You should watch tfltruck for more 2019 dodge ram pickup truck
If the truck hasn't been driven hard, wouldn't worry about changing ball joints bc those old 2wd's unless driven hard didn't have ball joint problems unlike the 2003 and up 4wd front ends and if your installing 7226s coil springs, ride will improve 100% and should give u about a 2-3" lift on front
You should get a third gen Ram 1500 and put a 12v in it
Hey Greg any reason you don’t saying about how awesome Diesel performance converters are?
Whaaaaat!? How did I miss that you and the lady are having a kiddo! Congratulations! Long time watcher, first time commenter. Of course only know you from the videos but from your attention to the little things and the way you treat those around you, you will no doubt be one hell of a dad.
Mad Editing skills there Mr Greg A. I like what you did there.
triston shuler he could sell how to videos like that and save up for the 5th gen.
Like the video format more with clips in talking parts great video like always buddy.
Greg, should have went with a Dana 80 from a cab chassis, they are narrow than the ones from a regular 3500 so you wouldn’t have the width issue. Hit me up if your interested I have a couple here in the yard.
The first gen is pap scrap for a reason, new dust covers and keep on sendin' it. It's the first gen way.
Greg. I gotta say when i watch your vlog’s, it makes me happy. Im so glad i have some of my hobbys on youtube. Have learned so much from you. Im from norway and im sad to say i got a powerstroke, but it does the job with 450 hp. My goal is 6-700 hp, but i have to save som $ to make it happend. Thanks for doing a great job on youtube and keep ut the awesome work youre doing. Ps i have seen youre vidz since you started youtube.
Anders Yttervik don't be sad u have a powerstroke one of the best engines In my book
Power strokes are great engines! My only gripe with fords are that you have to pull the cab to do anything other than minor maintenance. How common are big US trucks over there in Norway?
The shop is looking good.
Do everything, paint all your parts too.
Get a balljoint puller
Where do you buy your bushings
Greg A life:

.....
100% faithful and loyal fans. 🤙🤙
Just do the ball joints and paint everything up real nice...it's not your daily so being down a few extra days won't hurt and you'll have peace of mind that it's all good for a long time! After the second time I hit my own hand I always quit and drink 🍻
Greg replace what you can while its apart rn why not while its apart? And if you didnt keep taking stuff apart what would we watch you do??? Its a build channel!!! Love the videos! Been subed sence the beginning! Love you bye 👋🏼
Why a single on the tow rig, why not compounds
I ordered the same springs was really unsure about how to do it could u give some tips about the uninstall and reinstall plzzzz.
Congratulations again on the baby y'all!
Take some pointers from Muscle Man Andy Savage, lift with legs! @ 1:15
Do the ball joints well its apart
I would go ahead and replace them you already got it all apart and everything
Greg A back disc delete @1:12
I always replace stuff so that I have piece of mind and so you dont have to do it later.. Because they could loosen in a short amount of time... Its a shitty job but piece of mind is piece of mind.
Awesome new video editing! Big thumbs up! We love the cummins projects!
As cheap as I've found ball joints on rock auto, it's worth it to replace while you're in there in my opinion. Glad that the family is doing well and April..? Us too towards the end so congrats and best wishes to you guys!
CHVLKiD Beginning of August for this guy. I never thought I would be so excited to have a a little munchkin running around!! Congrats to Greg and you as well! Time to break out the cigars
Dustin_o, congrats man! I'm older probably so this is number 3 and hopefully the final one. But, even with each challenge, they're very much worth it. Hopefully all goes great with you all as well. Congrats again!
Hey have you looked into doing fluid film on the daily driver we started doing it at the shop i work at i feel its worth it to protect your investment against that salt
I like how you explained what you were doing while playing the time lapse. Next level editing!
awesome editing greg a...gettin better everytime
You did it backwards. Build a cradle to support the frame end of the lower control arm. Undo that one bolt and lower it down, no need to take the hubs and brakes apart.
Idk how hard u hit your hand but that looked painfull. Hope u get to feeling better great video👍👍👍
Just do ball joints. Peace of mind. Forced upgrade. And while you are at it do a Polly bushing set. It's a decent chunk but it is always worth it when something has 25 years on that stuff.
That deep into it go ahead and change them....keep up the great vids
MrGt512 I
The key is to put it all in your groin and your back, take your legs totally out of the equation. Lift with your lower back in a jerking, twisting motion 😀
DAN ROGINA PETER!!!!
DAN ROGINA Best quote ever!
Feel better Greg. Sympathy for the hand , have done that a couple of times over the years.
What's Johnny send it up to
Don’t take the ball joints out if you don’t have to I replaced them on my dads 91 D350 and they are a press fit and when I pressed them out the old ones took metal out and the new ones wouldn’t stay in and dodge doesn’t make sell the lower control arms I had to EBay a set so if you don’t have to take them out don’t! Lol
Talk about the wife’s Jeep one day my wife wants to get one
Best thing ever I do the same thing in my ecodiesel jeep parts everywhere the wife hates it but getting 31 mpg going to get them is awesome. Great channel Keep it up.
Love the new format! Good information quick! Good job Greg!
I thought the 05 was 2WD
No doubt do the ball joints now. Anytime you replace springs/lift kit it’s always a good idea to replace them. You have a stronger spring on an already/partially worn out ball joints.
in your 05 what axle gears are you running? I'm sure you told use before but just was curious. Love the videos even though i am a die-hard ford guy I'm loving learning about CUMMINS.
I find ball joints let go if you lean a lump hammer on the opposite side and whack it 2 or 3 times. Usually pops. Look after that hand. I’m nursing a fractured finger from hitting it too.
Zoltan Musaic thank you finally someone that knows how to work on vehicles. I never use a pickle fork just hit the fuck out of the control arm near the ball joint. heavier hammer works great
Agree, I’ve never once used a pickle fork, all they do is rip the boot, ok if you’re replacing it but otherwise it just ruins a good part. Couple good smacks in the sweet spot and it’ll pop
Greg what do u do for work out of curiosity
I really fucking want a first gen :/ I have a second and I love it but I feel like a first gen 12v would be so much fucking fun!!!
should do the ball joints and save yourself the problem later
Do the ball joints.
If your in there u may aswell replace the parts that need to be replaced don’t wanna have to go in there within a month to replace a part that you could have done when u pulled everything apart
Greg do you have any thoughts or feelings about Englishtown shutting down?
Oh and just do the ball joints so you don't have to later. Those replacement caps never seal the same and the joint will wear fast.
Greg, when are you going to get a 2 post lift in your shop so you don't have to use a jack and stands all the time and crawl all over the ground?
Put new ball joints in you have it apart
You’re doing great dude. Love the videos
Greg use the spring pressure of the truck take the nut almost all the way loose but not all the way pop loose whichever one you want to do first also have the steering taken loose if you need more spring pressure you can put a block of wood in between the a arm and the frame it will hold it up and give more spring tension with the steering turn loose you can turn the knuckle so you can get a better swing at it sometimes the lowers are still stubborn then you can put the biggest pry bar you can find that will fit in between the knuckle and the a arm if you're doing it on the ground you can hold your foot on the fry bar while you take another swing at it it will pop loose for sure then when both joints are popped Slide the Jack under the A on raise it up and take the two nuts off
Do ball joints while you have it apart. One last thing to do later on
