Frankie Boyle was great during the early Mock the Week stuff. Once he got kicked off that show is was all downhill though. Felt like he lost his way a bit
Frankie spent most of his time on mock the week not so subtly hinting he wanted to go further and talk about things the "Frightened horses" at the bbc didnt want him to (the iraq war and the one of the royal weddings being jsut two of many examples) to the point he basically deliberately got fired out of boredom at the way he was expected to 'contain' himself for the bbc. I think since then hes just embraced his wish to be a political comedian. THe fact hes basically a communist puts some people off but hoenstly i think its a great. He loves playing on peoples discomfort with labels like that and why not? Having read his book that hes a very very left leaning guy is really no mystery at all, in my opinion. And he doesnt *just* do politics in his new stuff (tho i will agree it is his mainstay, because whats more controversial). A surprising amount of his new stuff focuses on being a dad, general observational stuff. And hes still controversial? Still has plenty of helpings of his preferred targets (THe Church, pediophilia, mindless celeb culture, other comedians, other people, other scottish people, stereotypes, prejudice etc). I think part of the reason people think he only does politics is because most of his stuff on tv since then has been political. He actually releases most of his stuff for free from time to time from his site audio only. I understand he tweets alot but ive never followed him so maybe hes political on there. If you dont like his stuff, you dont like his stuff, fair enough. Personally, i prefer him now because now he has no bridges to burn so has nothing to lose. I highly reccomend his books, they are both hilarious and surprisngly raw to take in. Mad bastard used to be a carer *And* a school teacher.

For real the one good thing Corden was involved with was Gavin and Stacy, mostly because his character was a loud, obnoxious annoying lout (i.e. James Corden) but it was deliberate and relatable in a best-friend-youre-stuck-with kind of way and his character grew and progressed over the course of the series. Not to mention that he was a nobody playing a side character at the time. How his career survived Horne and Corden, let alone becoming a super star in the US despite nobody liking him, I'll never know.
Rogan has a really, really specific energy where whenever I watch his standup my gut feeling is "I don't think he's funny, but I can understand why someone else does". It's kind of manic and intense and probably slaps if you're drunk or high. James Corden feels like he appeals to the denizens of 2012 era Tumblr who obsess over fucking puns like they're the height of comedy, because it's hypothetically "supposed" to be funny. What’s crazy about Corden is that he rose to fame as being a working class and relatable bloke in England, and then when he made it big and went to America, he clearly repackaged himself and polished his image into what he thought Americans would want, and it backfired. The switch was so sudden. He even changed the way he spoke replacing “t” for a “d” sound in words like Americans do. “Derdy warder” instead of “dirty water.” Or “so I went to a pardy…” cringey for English fellas to talk like that.
The most disappointing thing about starting this video was before the video started. I got an advertisement for Burger King’s chicken sandwiches. I wish I was watching this on my pc with Adblock
The issue I have with Corden is that he never deserved anything that he got. he got funny by association. Gavin and Stacy, yes he was a writer, But Ruth Jones was the main writer. He got a sketch show and a film off of that popularity with Matt Horne, both of which were fucking awful. A League of there own was hilarious but that was down to the format and the guests on the show. these things made him mildly popular here in the UK but it wasn't his popularity, it was popularity he got from the other people he worked with. the small part in doctor who he had introduced him to American audiences then he got small parts in films. I guess when replacing Craig Ferguson the producers just assumed he's hilarious because he was involved with some critically acclaimed things. But he was never the draw in any of the shows. he worked hard from a young age to become an entertainer but he's just not entertaining, but it seems a couple of people in charge of casting think he is.
James Corden has that fluffy likable fat guy look to him, like Chris Farley or Samwise Gamgee, but he does his damndest to negate even that superficial likability.

I think Joe can be funny. It's not all bangers but I'll laugh here and there and he's pretty good at telling stories which is pretty key in comedy. The other ones have never made me smirk once.
The main thing about Joe Rogan’s stand up, which I’ve seen, is that it’s hilarious when you’ve been drinking. Also he is usually with amazing comedians, so what he does is set a scene where even if you don’t like one set, there’s an incredible comedian that follows up. You just have a fun night!
I watched one of his Netflix specials a few years ago. I laughed a few times but it was few and far between. I laughed like three times and then the whole thing was over.
To describe Corden perfectly would be the Hans Landa’s speech in the opening of Inglorious Bastards about rats and milk. Rogan is one of the OG comedians that isn’t super talented at stand up but just hit at the perfect time.
Bro he wants other people to be banned for jokes he doesn't like he's a huge hypocrite, he's also apparently been very creepy around women.
@@OoJohnisbackoO Absolutely agree Boyle's a madlad. i had once commented on the slash fiction i found of him and Hugh which he had previously said that he's read them AND he saw it and hearted it!! Besides that, he used to be my fav comedian followed by Dara. His old stand ups are insanely good. But i can't recommend them to anyone cuz, reasons. i think without being political, James Acaster is also a very funny guy. My fav for about 4 years now. His stuff is so good!
About the only worthwhile contribution James has made to comedy was paving the way for a couple of funny Sean Lock moments during 2008 Big Fat Quiz.
Charlie's twitter opening in Finnish made me think I was having a stroke
Why was it Finnish?
I've *NEVER* seen Joe Rogan stand up. This was definitely an eye opener
why would they even have James Corden on the show? Did they not know how much everybody hates him?
trevor noah belongs on this list
For real the one good thing Corden was involved with was Gavin and Stacy, mostly because his character was a loud, obnoxious annoying lout (i.e. James Corden) but it was deliberate and relatable in a best-friend-youre-stuck-with kind of way and his character grew and progressed over the course of the series. Not to mention that he was a nobody playing a side character at the time.
How his career survived Horne and Corden, let alone becoming a super star in the US despite nobody liking him, I'll never know.
No American knows what you're talking about
@@xymoriintusAnd? Gavin and Stacy is how he got famous. He was a co writer on a successful show
Rogan has a really, really specific energy where whenever I watch his standup my gut feeling is "I don't think he's funny, but I can understand why someone else does". It's kind of manic and intense and probably slaps if you're drunk or high.
James Corden feels like he appeals to the denizens of 2012 era Tumblr who obsess over fucking puns like they're the height of comedy, because it's hypothetically "supposed" to be funny. James Corden is Meatwad going "I get it. It ain't making me laugh, but I get it."
I smoke a lotta weed and Joe Rogan isn't funny, no matter how high I am.
I like to imagine James is a huge Charlie fan just watching this while weeping in his room over a tub of Häagen Dazs 😂
I can see how middle-schoolers might think Joe Rogan's stand-up is funny
I thought Dane Cook was the pinnacle of comedy when I was in middle school. Insane Clown Posse was also national treasure to me at that age
James Corden is like that theater kid in high school that never got told to shut the fuck up.
"That Joe Rogan special I watched was really funny"
Words that haven't been spoken by anyone anywhere...
Joe Rogan is actually a pretty good comedian. Listening to him, bert, Tom, and Joey Diaz is always great. He's not as good as the others but he's definitely funny.
@@zacharyomalley355 Tell me Joe Rogan's FUNNIEST joke to you?
The guy is worse than watching paint dry... But come on tell us all your favorite Joe Rogan joke....
@@ClickClack_Bam His humor isn't really just standalone jokes. It's usually his stories he tells that are funny. He's a great storyteller and that's usually the best parts of his standup stuff.
@@zacharyomalley355 Oh ok you can't repeat any of his jokes.
That's what EVERYBODY else says about Joe too. He's real funny though...
Ok then tell me what his funniest story is then. I'll bet you CAN'T.
@@ClickClack_Bam God forbid anyone likes someone you dont lol
Rogan won me over with his "Dumb People Outfucking Smart People" bit. I thought he was a genius. Turns out he just had a good distributor.
he’s one of those dumb people, he’s had like 3 kids
Lol the bit about the pyramids was great I thought.
That bit was hilarious. That and his rant about bigfoot 🤣
@@KROGANLovesKittensAndPuppies comedy isnt even why hes successful. i think people misunderstand, Comedy is more of a Hobby hes passionate about. Its how his career started, but its not what got him to being damn near a house hold name.
@Yedolf I saw him do the joke 6 years before Idiocracy was even written, but good try.
The comedy store is like one of L.A's most famous comedy clubs, the most famous young comedian proving ground type deal. Most big names have performed there at some point
For real I was laughing so hard hearing Charlie talk about it. To be fair it sounds like a fake sitcom name or something lmao
Its where Pauly Shore got his totally earned, not-the-result-of-nepotism start (his parents ran it)
Daniel Sloss is a pretty funny comedian, good Scottish comic with a dark sense of humor and knows how to poke the audience a bit
Thats not how you spell Limmy
Cordon speaks energetically, is a decent conversationalist (in the he can keep a convo going with little dead space not that he has anything interesting to say), and he is friends with a lot of people in Hollywood so they push him super hard. Bc of that I think some people like him due to the exposure effect where they just see him everywhere and eventually get used to him and misinterpret that as liking him.
I was hoping we'd get some Dan Nainan in here. Though maybe he's not much 'bad' as he is 'embarrassing.'
Dan Nainan, just like Tom Myers is bad to the degree where it comes back around to being genius level comedy. Corden and Schumer are just unwatchable
Norm McDonald is the goat imo. His moth joke is a masterpiece
Need a comedian tier list
Thank god someone else thinks Joe Rohan isn’t funny as a standup. Never had been and I think people who say he is a good comedian are just the friends he helped out in their career or super fanboys. He’s just not a funny comedian. Great podcaster though
Good podcast trash comedian lol
Norm's sidekick Adam Eget was the manager of The Comedy Store. He's responsible for bringing back to the spotlight. At least partially responsible.
Norm MacDonald was fucking hilarious, Rest In Peace
Dude everybody performs at the Comedy store. I think that's where a lot of them work on their material for specials and what not
Best comedians i'd say is Norm, Bill Burr, Dave Chapelle and Gabriel iglesias has some great standups.
Gabriel Iglesias 🤡
Idk about Dave Chapelle, Dan Cummins I'll always Stan for all his shit is good; Timesuck, Is We Dumb, Scared To Death. He's one of few comedians I've given money to via patreon
Chapelle is past his prime
idk what people still see in Chapelle tbh. He had some funny specials years ago but his new stuff is like 98% miss 2% hit imho.
@@Tobythecatrocksbro what did he do? he’s a bit more family friendly but so what he ain’t woke or anything, to me he’s one of the rarer “energetic” comedians that isn’t obnoxious or annoying
Lets gooo love the Norm Macdonald praise from Charles ❤
What about the guy who was hosting a roast but starts punching lmao
Def noodles (or something, idk)
I don't think you could really call him a comedian
I have long scary nipples that I call baby chokers. Hearing you call Joe”s nipples “Glorious” really made my month. Thank you Charlie. Always doing good. ❤
Never really watched any live streamers before, is this what it's like to tune in?
Ikr i will never understand watching this dude sit in silence taking sips of water and watching youtube
The comedy store is the name of an actual place that hosts comedians. Places like it are dwindling
I know that Gavin & Stacy is the reason why James Cordon became famous, but I really can’t understand how his fame has exceded that
He was in Doctor Who when America still gave a shit about it.
I loved him in Gavin and Stacey. I can see why he got work after that. However, that was obviously proven to be a detriment human culture.
Man that top thumbnail of James Corden just makes me so fucking viscerally angry
Norm MacDonald died?
I didn't know he was sick.
My ex admitted she was a big fan of car pool karaoke, we broke up. Not because of that, but it sure made the breakup easier
I actually thing Joe Rogan’s comedy isn’t all that bad. Not great but not bad. Also norm is a VERY underrated comedian, he’s one of the greats.
It really feels like James Corden manifested into Hollywood out of nowhere with his own show on TV.
And we all know how that happens ;)
Patrice O’Neal is the GOAT in my opinion.
James Corden has that fluffy likable fat guy look to him, like Chris Farley or Samwise Gamgee, but he does his damndest to negate even that superficial likability.
“Toooom Meyers, a comedian”
I thought Joe Rogan's Netflix comedy specials were at least somewhat funny just due to the fact that he looks and sounds stupid drunk
I really struggle to comprehend how he's gotten so much work, high status work
The fact that Gordon Ramseys' hot ones ep has 100 million more views than Mr. Tubs is hilarious
110 even. 10 million is quite a few people, 10 million to be exact.
I forgot he did stand-up comedy.
so happy more and more people are realizing that Joe Rogan isnt funny. I've been feeling like im in the twlight zone for years. Chappelle hasnt been funny in years also, but he at least has a few good jokes per special still.
Does Charlie not know the Comedy Store is a well-known comedy club? Lol
could you at least edit the silence out of these clips? if we can't see chat there's not much point to leaving it
Remember Bo Burnham’s old show “Zach Stone is gonna be famous” James Corden is the guy who will do anything to be famous. Every bit he did on his late night show would become a musical but bc he wanted any excuse to sing
Charlie doesn't know what the comedy store is?

Somehow James Corden is the worst part of Cats, so bad that God punished us with COVID for our hubris
I think Joe can be funny. It's not all bangers but I'll laugh here and there and he's pretty good at telling stories which is pretty key in comedy. The other ones have never made me smirk once.
Carl Sagan didn't prove the earth was round, that was Eratosthenes.
That was a great description he’s loud and high energy has that night out with the boys vibe
I watched one of his Netflix specials a few years ago. I laughed a few times but it was few and far between. I laughed like three times and then the whole thing was over.
@@Zack_410 it’s hard to say “you had to be there” but it’s so true with Joe’s comedy. It has to be experienced live.
I'm straight edge
old eddie murphy moving around alot on stage was great, and some of katt williams stuff
To describe Corden perfectly would be the Hans Landa’s speech in the opening of Inglorious Bastards about rats and milk.
Rogan is one of the OG comedians that isn’t super talented at stand up but just hit at the perfect time.
Schaub is like the relative the lives under the stairs that you have to tolerate because he’s part of the family.
Joe is in no way an og comedian
@@afalseerra9517 Really? He’s been doing comedy since the 80s 🤷🏼♂️
“Blockhead” animated series, created by Jeff Swain and I believe originally premiered on Newgrounds. No way to explain it, seriously I struggle to articulate any description.
