Episode 10 - getting personal

Let’s get personal.
Why home matters:
Everybody has a different relationship with the place they live in.
For some it is barely a place they go to sleep, and for others, like myself, it is where most of the time is spent.
So, while I cannot talk about the meaning of the house for everybody else, I surely can share a bit why it matters to me.
And I like to feel comfortable at home.
It is not about having the biggest house with the most expensive items.
Comfort is being surrounded by things I like,
things that I was fortunate enough to gather around time,
And things that were given to me me by dear people,
Comfort for me is about being safe, restful, mindful,
peaceful and also being sane.
Sure not everything here communicates with everybody else.
But those things help me bring that HOME feeling
Regardless where I am in the world not for how long.

That makes total sense to me. I imagine having that internal sense of home and comfort, allows you to have lived in so many places and still feel comfortable in new apartments. However, when you didn’t have a permanent place in Rome for so long, it must have been very challenging and unsettling for you. Home is also where you and Tom are together too. ❤
