Almost all of the cheaters tune cheats to perform more like AA and less like aimbot.

Ricochet was never what they claimed it was. Seeing some content creators who would say 'I have a contact who can get this account banned' proved to me that cheaters were being manually reviewed. If a game cannot identify a flying car, or a flying boat, or someone hitting 100% of shots on every player on the map, then the anti cheat simply doesnt work. The fact that cheat providers can now bypass ricochet when these 'screenshots' are taken, shows how ineffective ricochet is. Activision simply lied to us. They verbally sold us on some super advanced AI driven anti cheat but the reality is that ricochet is nothing more than a front door security guard asking for ID while the other 12 entry doors are left unguarded.

I played and hosted servers on Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, almost 20 years ago. Back then we used the anti cheat system called: PunkBuster...

I just want to say that you have absolutely no clue how this whole thing works.
The anti cheat is being updated continiously because cheats are being updated continiously. This is an ongoing process. You can't make an anti cheat that can predict and recognize every cheat in the future. This is an eternal fight between cheat makers and anti cheat makers.
Now, I do agree that Ricochet seems to miss a whole lot of cheats and that they need to work on that even more. But to pretend like this is easy is just ignorant.
It is an AI driven anticheat. It takes screenshots and then the AI studies them for esp boxes and cheat menus. The cheats however detect this and temporarily disable the esp and other things that can get detected so ricochet does not find anything.

EXACTLY. Give me the occasional PC cheater. This inhuman reaction aim assist is absolutely ridiculous.
Before the last 5 or 6 weeks, I rarely saw ‘obvious’ cheaters. I ran into the odd one, maybe every 20 or so games. Recently, it’s probably 1 out of every 3 games we encounter obvious cheaters. Around a week ago we encountered multiple rage hacking teams in one night. I’m talking full aimbot, shooting people across the map, out the sky, all on 30+ kills. I reported all of them, but none were kicked. The anti cheat is not an anti cheat in my opinion. It’s simply a reporting system, as it doesn’t seem to detect anything on its own.
Disable crossplay on PS5 doesn't even work now... You'll wait 30 minutes and won't find a single lobby
I havnt played a single game with crossplay on with myself and squad. Find a game every time within 1/2 mins. Maybe it’s where you are. Strange. I wouldn’t play the game with it turned on.
That is absolute bollocks, we never play with cross play on and find lobbies as normal, both in WZ and MP

Exactly. I’ve tried it and if I do find a lobby it only fills with maybe 30-40 players. Nobody is getting a full lobby within minutes with crossplay off. Anyone who says they do is lying.

Never going to stop hackers at this point. The best option, in my opinion, is to go back to a server browser and let the community rent and manage community servers. This would let us have our own server admins again to deal with the hackers.
Not a bad idea actually, but challanges to get skins and weapon xp would be very easily cheesed this way

Well said. I'm ps5 and I've been saying this forever I've probably seen about 1 cheater per day, that was obviously walling oir aimbot in around 2 hours per day.
I’m currently under the opinion the decision to turn cross play off has automatically been disabled by COD devs. If it’s off we can’t invite our other ps5 teammates! So you have to turn it on. Send invite, and then when everyone is in lobby then you can turn it off. Or so they say. As we still have pc players in all our lobbies all the time. So that’s my belief. The option to choose has been taken away.
I’ve been dealing with this same issue with my wife being on PS4 and me on PS5. I can’t even invite her to the team as it won’t let her join, it has to be her inviting me and with cross play on then switched off again.
What I've noticed with turning off crossplay on PS5 is that when you trurn it off, you then have to restart the game for it to take full effect. Otherwise you'll still get a few PC players in your lobbies.
The fact that Activision didn't include a way for Xbox players to turn off crossplay the same way PS were able to was ridiculous for Warzone. Console only crossplay is the absolute easiest way for them to fix the cheating problem immediately for PS and XB players and also have an even playing field in terms of hardware capability. The wild part is, they probably already have it as an option that they could put out in an update anytime they want.
You can turn off crossplay on Xbox you have to do it in the Xbox settings not the cod settings. It’s weird.

Thanks Tactical Brit - I've been saying this for ages as a console player (Ps5) to play with crossplay disabled. The unequal playing field when playing (as a high kd player) against other PC players who can enable wallhacks (in a BR no less) puts me at a massive disadvantage. And you can argue cronus until the cows come home, but the numbers just don't add up. It sucks they'll never remove crossplay, but the reality is that Ricochet doesn't work.
Just used your code for the Hall Effects Aim controller. I couldn't get over Scuff charging more for a cotroller that will probably experience stick drift within a few months. I'm keen to experience Warzone how it was meant to be experienced, despite being an mnk player myself, and as one of the few WZ content creators that actually caters to the intermediate players out there whilst still being a total sweat, I actually trust your opinion when you say something is decent.

I think they should do an anti cheat like Valorant for PC and make it mandatory to play COD on PC. Then I think cross play would be fine if you cut off the PC cheats. Or just make consoles cross play and have PC by itself. Great video!
I play with a couple fellow ps5 players and when we play, we turn off cross play. It's such a nice experience.
crossplay off has not been working since season 2 for me and my ps5 buddies. We get error "u are not allowed to play on different plattform" even tough we are all on ps5

Had a match today where no one could jump off the plane (all input disabled), everyone fell into water and drowned while the cheater started their nuke mission

there is also no reality where knm players feel safe playing against controller players. And today I was playing some br quads, and a team was doing the nuke challenge. I was behind the guy, he had already knocked my teamates, and suddenly turned on my and knocked me before I even broke him. I don't know what these people want, they got no purpose in life than ruin the lives of other people.

I agree. I have played using my XBOx with crossplay off and zero cheaters. They have made it annoying to do as the wait time can be 20inites for a lobby and every match the ask you to turn crossplay back on.. but it's worth the wait.

I mostly play Plunder on PC & I can honestly say we run into cheats every game, it almost seems they all run on teams.
As if they meet on the engine owning forums and squad up.
They are always low level new accounts with all the skins already unlocked and tracking you through walls & insta kills with locked on face shots.
It's getting beyond old.
I have always said, Ricochet is merely the col name given to the sweatshop in India where people manually siphon through reports.
The only time I have seen someone get booted is when many people report the same person in a single match otherwise high& low level cheaters just flip their cheats on and off to avoid detection and keep playing.
The easiest method would be for Activision look at KDR leader boards.
If someone has a KDR of 10+ shadow ban them and observe.
NO ONE should legitimately have a KDR of 10 in this game.

I have bad news for you. I play on PS5 and got sick of cheaters so turned off crossplay and it was a nightmare. In Warzone Trios it was very rare to get a full lobby - most lobbies were in the 40s and took forever to start. Also, I believe by design the lobbies were ultra sweaty. A lot of lag and just a terrible experience. I believe they do it on purpose so that you don't turn crossplay off. Maybe it's different outside the US but I highly doubt it.
Northeast England works perfectly. A little sweaty but the game is sweaty anyway.

There's a fine line between knowing if somebody is hacking for sure, and being caught up in shadowbans because you simply got slapped by somebody better than you - leading to shadowbans which is also a dogshit system - ask me ive been in a loop for months.
Facts. Allegedly someone made a video on me with 100k subs but refuses to tell me what the channel name is a few days ago. The day after he messaged me on PSN that he was gonna "expose" me, 4-5 different accounts jumped in my channel and started being stupid, contradicting themselves a lot but they all kept referencing some dude named "inukes" that i never heard of. weird shit frfr bro these kids are stupid sometimes but hey, comments are engagement and engagement is king

For me, as an Xbox player, war zone is basically unplayable anymore. I’ve been playing COD for about 12 years but they are about to lose me as a customer who spends money on games and in the store. And once I leave, I will never come back.
In smaller regions like South Africa - we only occasionally get local BR lobbies and usually with 40-70 players only.
Improving the anticheat is the solution, not disabling crossplay
At this point I just assume Activision has some parameter for degree of cheating vs money spent in game.

Played crossplay off PS5 tonight, found lobbies a LOT quicker than I expected....seems a lot of people are tired of cheaters. Can definitely notice a big difference in the amount of suspicious activity, but there's also definitely still console sweats
thats the thing you feel like you cant compete with a sweaty console player when in reality you just dont play crossplay off enough, a genuine gunfight is much more confusing not sweatier just more realistic than a pc kid with 1000 fps melting you before you could even slide cancel trust me you want to fight the guys around 60fps and below no matter the kd, multiple montiors its easy to hide the cheats and they already have $10000 pcs so they only need uav/wallhacks not even aimbot. keep it off so you can actually feel your skill bracket crossplay is literally broken drop 15-20 kills and next few games you feel like you havent improved in months

Honestly console only crossplay would be a life changer. When I can find games with crossplay off on seriesx in mw3 multiplayer, its a really good experience where even tough matches are super fun. The issue no one is talking about is visual and audio latency on xbox, imagine having a delay compared to someone on pc and having to fight against that.
over the weekend "ricochet" was said to be off, I had 18 notifications of action taken against a player I have reported. I don't run into rage hackers often, but people clearly running wallhacks or some sort of esp and no recoil scripts is a lot more often.

I see at least one hacker per match these days who has either aimbot, wall hacks or both.. it wasn't like that when the game launched at all.
Played a game of gun fight with my buddy the other night, player was blatantly cheating and I mean BLATANTLY. He was laughing about it the whole time. Both of us reported him and ended up playing literally 6 rounds in a row against his and the same teammate all the while continuing to report his cheating every game to see how long it would take for him to get kicked. We gave up at the beginning of the 7th match. Saw him again in WZ a few days later, still blatantly cheating. I’m done with cod
You have to spam report them. I’ll report over and over until the next game starts.
After you first reported him the next thing you should have did was block him

Love Hall effect sensors! They have been around so long I am amazed that gaming controllers are so far behind. Have had them in rc controllers for years.
I primarily play duos and recently I’d say an hour of play = running into 1 blatant cheater. It’s so frustrating I uninstalled the game from my XBOX Saturday.
Maybe they should improve their anticheat instead of let this game rot.
Another issue is that (I'm on ps4) you turn off crossplay and it simply won't populate a lobby, I've tried before waiting for long periods of time and it just doesn't happen.
crazy everybody on last gen should be able to get into lobbies together consistently i know for a fact theres enough players lower frames random ping and low specs my reaction time is not bad but even a modified $50 pc player has so many advantages that last/current gen players cant control

I have had probably a dozen confirmed reports and 5 were blatant cheaters. 4 were in a squad all bragging about it in prox chat and purposefully killing themselves before you could spectate or report them then backed out.
I don’t play WZ anymore and life’s been great.
Dropped in for 2 games after new fortunes keep, both completely riddled with cheaters. At this point wont even come back if they finally release rebirth island. Its worthless. Another awesome thing ruined by asshats in suits. Would love to have CEOs slapped on camera for the bullcrap they pull before being fired.
Lachy, U mentioned today, (can’t remember if it’s this video or your live feed) not to use 1440p on ps5, why is that plz? I have researched and researched and can’t find any reason why not to run ps5 at 1440p 120hz, on a matching monitor, using the latest firmwares?
Many say there are cheaters in every game and I have an answer to this:
It all DEPENDS on the skill bracket you play, the better your stats become the more likely you will face a cheater.
Now there is a thing - "RAGEHACKERS" are more likely to pop in low skill bracket before they get too many reports and shadowbanned and in higher skill bracket there are plenty who try to hide it.
For example a guy keeps my squad in a corner of his screen the whole time he hunts us(NO uav or radar) after he wiped us they did the same to about 5 other squads and the funny part is as he got like 8 spectators he started to just mark people and let the noob squadmates which had barely 1 kill to do the job so he can hide it.

I have not played with cross-play on for a few month on PS5, the difference from cross-play on is quite significant
With over 2 decades in first and 3rd person shooters, and multiplayer platforms, we have lost count, but we can call the obvious way faster than any anti cheat currently failing at it's job. We used to hold a ban hammer before the companies started relying on anti cheat and perma bans that just don't work so they could resell skins and battle passes to the people they are pretending to ban so regardless of how many legit players quit, the profit keeps rolling in.
I turned it off for one day the other day and I got pooped on tbh, and so just turned crossplay back on. Weird
The problem is I don’t think they would disable cross play with PC only. They’ve made strides to get the PC numbers that they currently have (remember how dead the PC community was pre MW2019?). They disable cross play, they kill that community, thus losing out on potential revenue.
PCs should’ve never been crossplayed with consoles. Take out bunnie hopping also.
As a PC player cross play is bad idea for shooters if you are not going to have simple features such input matchmaking and a robust anti cheat. A knock on effect also is that controllers now have ridiculously overcharged rotational aim assist which is annoying to deal with and does a disservice to console players. On top of that you have chronus users flooding the console space. COD multiplayer is chalked until they deal with all this.
I play for about two hours per night, and I encounter at least two blatant cheaters every night, and there’s usually a cheater in my very first match. When the anti-cheat detects a cheater they should instantly be permanently banned, and ban their IP so they can’t get on even if they create another account. All of this stuff about making their shots not do damage or putting a fake player in front of them to shoot at is all a waste of everyone’s time.
The cheating in COD speaks volumes about the community. Yes, Ricochet should work better but ultimately this is a community driven problem. Some really lame people playing this game.
It's a tough one for me, two of the people i play with are on pc and i'm on xbox. The last month has been terrible though. Diamond/Crimson ranked lobby earlier had two obvious hackers, they got live banned but not before costing %70 of the lobby hard earned SR

are we forgetting people were cheating on p4 during the mw3 beta when it was only playstations week w devkits? disabling cross is just putting a bandaid on an arm thats dangling off and doesnt fully stop ppl running scripts on console or theyll just find a way to fully cheat on console like they did w previous cods & the mw3 beta using dk, they just needa go the riot route and have an invasive anticheat for all platforms dk why theyre avoiding that
yesterday i played against cheaters, when they were nearby my mouse did not worked normally. i think this is new kind of cheat.
Any info on if killcams are bugged in resurgence ranked? My friends and a have seen a dozen of killcams where we got locked on to, but i genuinely dont know if its a bug with the killcam skipping information or people actually locking on.

Thanks for making this video. I also have a high end pc, yet I choose to play on my series x to help get better lobbies for my console squad. We still get pc cheaters in our lobbies though. Not super blatant but they are there.
If, they wouldn't have shut down sm2, I would 100 percent agree with you however, as a m+kb player, I'd be left with only hackers and overpowered aim assist as all the legit PC players will be long gone. We're already leaving COD in droves so what does it matter really.
Ricochet 100% doesn't exist, it's still all a report based system.

I have never reported a cheater until three months ago and in that 10 week period 9 of the 11 accounts I reported were banned. Three of those hackers were on my team when they were reported. Just last week teammate dropped 26 in one of the most blatant uses of aimbot I have ever seen. We won the game and it felt so scummy. I actually felt bad for the final full four man who got insta deleted in a 4v1. I am a bare average player and in mid tier lobbies I never really saw a lot of cheating until October/November last year. Now its so bad.

Crossplay is broken on playstation. Since last friday the game broke there have been pc players in my lobbies even I have it turned off. In recent players it says that everyone is on playstation but its not true because there have been so many keyboard&mouse players and we have runned to couple cheaters which has happened never before the game broke.

But with the last update, season 2, they made it so i cant join my friends unless i turn crossplay ON! So we have to turn on crossplay, join eachother and then turn it off. We often forget this and sometimes we get funny stuff happening. We generally suck so i cant really tell if they cheat😂

I always turn crossplay off and don't encounter any issues starting a match. I play on European servers, and the lobby fills up in less than a minute. However, the problem arises in the rank mode in the warzone. Even with crossplay turned off, I still enter lobbies with players from other platforms. Unfortunately, in almost every lobby, there's at least one team using wallhacks, giving them an unfair advantage. My k/d is 3.7, and I consider myself skilled at this game. I can distinguish between a UAV and someone exploiting wallhacks. I wish I could play rank resurgence with crossplay turned off!
with a k/d that high you either on a high end pc or close to it, run riot shield, and or melee, or a cracked p5 player either way i can definitely distinguish when i get killed with no information vs uav, etc. my k/d is 1.75 but im on a p4 and could easily be pushin 4 k/d on a p5...oh yea and unnatural "awareness" tends to be a big thing in my lobbies i stg when im on amazing pace picked 10-14 kills quick in for a good game its funny how after i get all those kills everybody just has "uav" for some odd reason...
As a pc player who only plays the game with ps5 users, this would suck. But i do see where you are coming from. But thats why the option to turn crossplay off is right there in the menus.
Exactly what I did, stopped playing on my beast of a pc with M&K. and play Warzone on ps5 with cross-play off. Ps5 with lg c1 is pretty decent to be fair.

Casual average gamer here, I watch you and your mates to get any tips to be a little more competitive in my current enforced downtime, I use bog standard PS5 and Sony headphones, would be great if you could borrow a PS5 and make a complete guide to all the settings please. I followed this video and gave it a try only thing is no crossplay has higher ping so often beaten more than without it seems. But last night was a new experience in BR Solos and I have recorded it and wondered if it would be even possible to stop the fact I met a team of 5 players running around destroying everyone in the lobby before killing each other at the end! Cannot see how this could be stopped? Are people that desperate for a win!
Ive started looking up the players I die to in game. 99% of them are on PC. I’ve tried turning crossplay off but it takes 10-15 min to find a game and it usually only fills with about 30-40 players. Console gaming for Warzone is chalked 🤷♂️

Crossplay off also gives me much higher ping. But in general, the ping has been climbing a bit lately. Separate MW3 from WZ as well.
I encounter cheaters every night in resurgence ranked and it’s blatantly obvious. Especially if they are iri or above. I’d say at least 5+ cheaters a night.
It doesn't work. A hell of a lot of the time the matchmaking struggles to find a lobby within a certain time frame and then it just chucks you in with PC players anyway, and the amount of pc cheaters even with crossplay off is horrendous.

I know one of the mitigations shown in MW2 was invisible AI players, but it needs to be mandatory in every single game, not something that is just deployed once in a while to suspected cheaters after they have already ruined many matches. It would at least catch some of the wallhackers out. But then they just sign in on another account and cheat until that gets banned. So it doesn't really solve anything with the current state of the anti cheat.
As a PC gamer, plz, turn that shit off, I hate those insta locks on me despite all the movement I do and no kick from being hit. It's a nightmare to fight console with aim assits in CQB. In Apex console players have 0 recoil while movement is even faster - it's borderline unplayable for PC
