I had the urge to listen to 'Time's Scar' again, and suddenly, I discovered a new reaction to this song. I'm happy that more and more people, including musicians, are discovering and appreciating this song. I hope they explore the full OST. Yasunori Mitsuda deserves more recognition.
This is honestly the quintessential version of this song for me, even above the orchestral versions. You can tell from the arrangement and care taken this is a song that really resonates with the musicians.
my issue with the other versions is that they replace some of the iconic instruments, mostly they replace the guitar with harps and the same with the percussion and wind instruments, losing that awesome south seas feel thats so synonimous with Cross´ identity
For the longest time the original was king in my mind, the only thing I hated was that it was so short...! Then this version came out and 'fixed' that element so I am forever grateful to this version for giving me more time to enjoy this song.
I'd also recommend watching a video on youtube called "New editon「CHRONO CROSS medley」- Cosmosky Orchestra" and their rendition of Radical Dreamers on a separate video on their channel as well.
would love to see your take on songs from other FF games like Gapra Whitewood or Sunleth Waterscape from FFXIII or Sound of the Wind or Starry Moonless Night from Crystal Chronicles

I feel like so many groups try to cover this song and very few do it justice. This rendition knocks it out of the park!
I've listened to this so many times for many years. I love the extension of the song with the solo violin 🎻 😍
Yes, you are correct, that's a piccolo. I was a flute & piccolo player in school. It is a lovely song. Great reaction!
best rendition of this great song

I really enjoyed it! It is so cool to see the performers clearly enjoying what they are doing and knowing how special it is in the moment.

I've watched the original for years and maybe replayed it over 1k plus times lol

The guy you said knows something cool is going on, Zack Singer, has the best sax solo in their Theme of Laura rendition at the same performance.
orchestras never get this right, they make it their own thing and change it into a totally different thing, but the original is unmatchable
I always love this song!
It is really amazing!

Yes, it's a piccolo.
