Thanks for posting such a comprehensible gear list and packing guide. Very informative. 👍
My wife and I will do the overland when restrictions are lifted.

Only a pogue would bring a pillow. The way you fold those dry sacs suggests you were in the blanket folding corp

Great video considering like you said it was your first! I hope you didn't have to walk out any poop with you!? I am 100% for leave no trace but when it comes to number 2-ing out there it's perfectly acceptable to bury it, the only thing you need to hike out with you is your dirty TP (which you can drop off when you reach camp at the drop toilets). Buying a UL trowel would be better than humping it out (in my opinion).

Laws will be changing soon for cradle mountain and you will be required to hike out the poop lol. I also carried a pee bottle and would empty it each night at the huts. It's more a my preference at this stage to really try and leave the hike the way I found it or better. Unfortunately I picked up a lot of rubbish up there 😥

@@aveteransadventures2090 Yeah it is a shame about the easy stuff like rubbish! Crazy they are changing the law the hike your poop out! Thats pretty funny... easiest thing to do is hold it for the huts! :P

Gday Jase, great video mate.. where in Launy did you get the survival kit from or did you get it online? I’ll watch your other videos on the track, but before I do and perhaps you’ve covered it, but just in case; are you doing a debrief on the stuff that worked and didn’t work? Cheers, Ron

Great rundown mate, thanks! I can tell you’re not Tasmanian by the way you pronounce Launceston though! 😂 Not that I’d ever take the piss out of a former pongo

Great video thanks for sharing! Did you dehydrate your own meals and take them on a flight or do you live in Tassie? I’m starting in December and I’ve been told there are restrictions on non commercially dehydrated meals.

I live in Tassie and dehydrated my own meals. There are restrictions on bringing fruit and vegetables into Tasmania. I'm not sure if that applies to self dehydrated meals, probably best to check up on that. Thanks for watching
