    Alain I truly love your videos. They make me feel like I'm 20 again, on a hike with my friends... pretty much the best feeling ever. You've helped me get through a few long weeks of desk work, stoking the embers that will become my next hike, on my old man legs. Thank you!

    Loved your video. Did the track in March and enjoyed the memories while watching it. Liked the copper mine exploration 😊. We didn’t go to old Pelion hut so it was great to see. Your singing added even more enthusiasm to the video. Your food also inspired me. Never thought of taking seaweed or dried mushrooms.

    Great video man, I just love Tasmania in all weathers... But it can be rough sliding all the time, I climbed Mt Murchison in the wet, and that was an experience... That was ballsy of you to climb Mt Ossa in the snow, well done. One thing that'd be great is if you showed us the map at the end or beginning of every day to see the route. Since the video is on the short side, it can be confusing for the viewer.

    That was one giant tree there! 23:05 . Beautiful full waterfalls, but I guess with such a wet environment rain and puddles are to be expected. This looked like a long hike to do on your own but judging by this video you enjoyed it none the less! Agree with the other comments this video is very well compiled and the music tracks are perfect. Carla says maybe less of the singing 😮 but don't let that stop you! Gotta keep the cheer up on those long days you had!

    • @AlainStewart
      @AlainStewart  Рік тому

      Absolutely. Especially when it’s cold and wet, a bit of singing helps keep the morale up. But loved the hike more than I expected. Thanks for the comment Jeremy. Hope to visit you and Carla soon.

    Mate thanks for this very entertaining video. I have done the track 16 times and never tire of it. Your cousin Richard (he sent me the link) and I, get around these parts most years. I really like the way you filmed and produced this. Some of your silhouettes and just how you didn't "over-narrate" it, made for great viewing. Let me know if you ever need transport in the Vic High Country.
    Pete

      @AlainStewart  Рік тому

      Big thanks Pete for your offer and comment. Glad you enjoyed the vid. Yes, I can see why people keep going back to the OT. Wouldn't mind doing it myself again, or entering from the Walls through the Never Never.

      @Pete-WordPress-Developer Рік тому

      @@AlainStewart you're welcome.
      Richard and I have just lined up a walk for end of October.
      I'd also like to do the Never Never Trip in December, if I can swing it. I've been through there 3 times already it just gets more magical every time. From the height of Summer to the depths of Winter.
      Cross the Mersey at your earliest opportunity. If you luck out from high water, there's a very shallow broad pool just downstream from Hartnett Falls- past the end of the gorge. I've been there in Winter and it was hardly mid-calf deep. Then you can walk upstream along the West bank of the Mersey to meet the Overland Track if you want.
      You won't regret the walk. Keep going with the content production, it's an absolute pleasure to watch. You've got the formula right.
      Cheers
      Pete

      Meat hard to keep so get my protein intake mainly from protein powder every morning. But some meat is already freeze dried in my freezer dried meals for dinner. Breakfast is oats with protein powder.

    Hi, really love your video, just what to ask do you need to register for the hut?

    • @AlainStewart
      @AlainStewart  8 місяців тому

      Hey man. No need to register for the hut. Simply just go and camp there. Beds are on a 'first-come-first-served' basis. The only thing you need to register are your trip intensions at the start of the hike in the booklet. Good luck.

    Fantastic video, with really nice shots. You get a real sense of the place from this.
    Can I ask about your footwear choices for winter on the OT? I saw you're wearing boots. Are they waterproof boots? Or did you wear waterproof sox? Or just dry them out when you got to the huts?

    • @AlainStewart
      @AlainStewart  Рік тому +1

      Hey mate. Thanks for the comment. Was wearing leather boots which were once waterproof, and wearing waterproof socks over a Smartwool merino sock. I brought both Bridgedale and Sealskinz. The water did get through both of them eventually, but my feet never felt soaked - just damp on the inside. Although, they did help keep my feet warm except when I was in the snow. Hop e it helps :)

    On the mountain climbs, are there signs or anything to see where you're going, or if you're going the right way??

    • @AlainStewart
      @AlainStewart  5 місяців тому

      Hey. There are normally arrows or rock cairns which you follow to guide you to the right track or summit. Sometimes there would be a pile of rocks to show you where not to go too. Takes a bit of getting used to.
