I learned this around age 20 when I was in the army. A sgt told me to meet him at his room, we were going to deploy within the next few days so I thought we were being called to meet there for information on the actual day. Turned out I was naive and he wanted more. Luckily he accepted my no to his advance and I left untouched. It creeped me out though. I’ll never be that dumb again.

The court of public opinion doesn't need proof while a court of law examines the validity of any such evidence. 2 completely independent universes. All that's necessary in the court of public opinion is an accusation. A court of law can even find someone not guilty beyond any reasonable doubt while the court of public opinion will convict that same person anyway. Just an allegation will do, and that is enough to permanently ruin a person's career and personal life. The argument is often 'well they wouldn't have any reason to say that if it didn't happen, so it must be true.' and off we go into the land of fantasy. We have Hollywood to thank for this pervasive lack of critical thinking skills.

That's what I'm thinking about too.
I totally understand your point, bc for many of us we would never want to have anything to do with someone who sexually assaulted or raped us ever again. However, for some victims, they use a coping mechanism as a way of dealing with the trauma. This can include trying to trick themselves into believing that having some sort of relationship with their attacker makes them feel less vulnerable and therefore makes the incident seem less like a rape in their minds. She could have had other reasons as well, such as needing to keep her job, but I have seen rape victims engage in some counterintuitive actions as a way to "fix" the incident in their minds.
Jennifer Robinson I can see how something like that would work in a situation like a date rape or a rape that was more of a “I didn’t say no but I didn’t say yes” that what she described, which was being physically held down, and forcefully raped after she said no many times and was crying. That just such an extreme situation I don’t think anyone could use that strategy you mentioned to trick themselves. Even in the moment she knew she didn’t want it and that it hurt and that she said no.
