The more you practice, the luckier you become🙂
@@BenTsangKun is this "luck" in the room with us now?
@@TrickyEileen Not so much if we apply your advice, to rely less and less on “luck” when it comes to those situations

You a real one for watching almost to the end and hearing the best line of the whole video. It so true
I've watched the vid 6 times. It's such a great vid.
Thanks. That’s how I know I hit the nail on the head. So happy 😀
Consistency is the one thing I'm working hard to achieve. A lot of it is just in making the input I mean to do.
I often find I press poor inputs when either I’m not practiced enough (drills go here) or I’m flustered (emotional control video here)
Great video!
You’re soundtrack is A1 🔥
ty ty. I take a lot of pride in the setlist
I play Yomi 2 (card game inspired by fighting games) and the RNG kind of forces players to prioritize consistency pretty early on, a good bit of which is trying to figure out what the opponent has based on what they definitely don’t (because it’s in discard) and based on what they’ve been playing (for example an opponent blocking a lot means they’re probably unhappy with their hand). Also what they’ve been exchanging (basically Yomi 2 has a mechanic where on your turn you can discard a card to fetch something from discard as long as both cards have the exchange symbol).
Definitely not 1:1 since it’s not literally a fighting game but the Yomi series has helped me a lot with thinking about consistency earlier on in my development as a player than I would otherwise
great analogy
Gotta play to my strengths.
This channel is a goldmine. I used to get super angry at fighting games these videos helped me calm down
Glad you found me
If and when I play any fighting game seriously again I'll play it with the mental state that I'm playing for the first time.
Haven't played a fighting game consistently in almost a decade.
This is good advice :)
I play King, and my general strategy is to pay attention to opponent timing and abuse his df 2 (safe -6 i13 mid CH launcher for 76 damage) - and then King has good mixes when people freeze.
Only trouble is in tournement my timing was good but with nerves my CH confirms were bad 😅.
I assume the only remedy to that is to go to more events until I play closer to how I do at home
Or play on stream. Or play pride first to 2’s vs people of similar skill of the tournament comp are a few other solutions
@@TrickyEileen Thanks for reading and replying to comments - you don't have to do that and I really appreciate it. Hope you are enjoying Tekken
You are welcome. I try to reply to as many as I can fit in
Win smart, win s-mart.
😂 Love the wordplay! Winning smart is definitely the way to go-strategy over luck every time! 💪
Did you say the right words this time?
💯
In my case, I won a Street Fighter tournament in Chile, and I entered just for fun (I'm not good at the game). It turned out that I won, even against competitors who were much better than me. If that's not luck, I don't know what is. But to me, it's clear that luck in fighting games is 80%, and the rest is skill. It might sound a bit harsh, but it's the truth. If you want proof, just look at how Xiao Hai lost a Street Fighter final simply because he couldn't guess his opponent's grabs in the corner
Win it again then. You should win 80% then no? Who says those players were more skilled than you? How do you measure it?
So true tricky. when you continuously put the opponent in situations that whatever they do is the wrong answer thier mental stack sky rockets 🚀 up and they keep trying things , that you are ready for, which gives you even more damage until they expunged all thier options. Then they become so readable, you start to understand the pages of thier book, any chapters or pages they skip around to... you already know whats there.
You get it. This is why the Strat is so effective. It’s hard to pull off and requires a lot of knowledge of the full cast. But it’s how to become consistent without guessing super hard.
What if the game itself isn't consistent?
This is how you make it consistent. Watch the whole video and you’ll understand. I made a highly inconsistent character one of the most consistent by using strategy to mitigate the inconsistency inherent in her.
Casino tekken ha true
😂 Exactly! It’s all about avoiding those coin flip moments and playing smart. No more Casino Tekken-time to focus on consistency and making every move count!
Winning is luck. Your opponent making a mistake, the strength of the opponent, maybe lag interferes, maybe you have to sneeze and it cost you the match or you drop your combo. External factors will play a part in winning. Its never 100% skill. The fact that you woke up today to even get to play instead of tragically dying the day before is luck in and of itself.
Hey, appreciate you sharing your thoughts! You're absolutely right that external factors can come into play, like lag or mistakes, but the core message of the video is about what you can control. The focus here is on consistency-preparing your mind and skills so that even when those unpredictable moments happen, you’re ready. Sure, you can’t control every little thing, but what separates the top players from the rest is how they minimize reliance on luck by being consistently strong, adapting, and making fewer mistakes over time. That’s what this video breaks down!
