My Dad played for Maryland, national Champions that year and was at this game. I still have his orange bowl ring, watch, pictures as well as his National championship trophy, ring, pictures, jacket and lots of team pictures. It’s great to see this footage.
My father played on that team as well (Chet Hanulak #33) and he has said that was the most frustrating game he played while at MD. We have all the same memorabilia you stated above as well as his game helmet. Fun to see the footage even though they took the loss
My grandpa played on that team Martin crytzer (Marty)
@@patrickhanulak1854your father is a beast , still holds records till this day
Oklahoma's Jack Ging (#11) was in several TV episodes ("Perry Mason") and several movies ("High Plains Drifter"). This was a dull and uneventful game.
Let's face it, modern high school football programs would beat the tar out of these standout 1950's college teams.
It's a shame the year we won the national championship we lose the orange bowl, with that said we were owed 1 from 51 if I'm not mistaken... heck with orange bowls tho,its time to smell the Rose's! And Mike Locksley is man man to get us there...🐢power!!
Lol
@@lightingbolt8148 LOL times 2...from 2024..wonder if he still supports Mike Locksley...gotta support someone I guess...🤫
Maryland fails to score from the 2, then misses a 10 yard field goal.... Ridiculous loss...and shut out
1950s fooball...turnovers ..two -way playing..power vormations..sparse and low percentage passing...and whomever could straight ahead kick was your kicker...or punter...a 200 plus lineman was large....
N D was the real national champion that year.
@@scramble100 Get a life ND lost 8 games that year !!!
