After this video I took the little grills off the old speakers and the foam was still intact but some of the glue was coming up, they rattled some, but they mostly just distorted at higher volumes.
I only replaced the speakers as they were rotted, it's not a great head unit either:-) They sound good for what they are, basically stock replacements.
@@Pondsisawesome124 I went with the infinity primus mostly price and faster shipping rate, prime this days sucks...too slow. Thanks for the reply , cheers!
I'm not sure on those, Kicker & other manufacturers have a vehicle selector on their sites and you plug in your vehicle and it says what sizes will fit. Also Crutchfield.com is good for seeing what fits without hacking things up.
Here I am, trying to take the door panel off my 2002 F-150. There are no screws on the bottom of the door panel, nor are there any holes where there should be. Even worse, there IS NO 6-or-7mm bolt by the door pull..... nor is there a hole where it should be. The door panel will NOT come off. Now what?
"use this number 6 wrench to take off this bolt thingy or whatever you want to call it"?? (It's a 6 mm socket and it's a hex head screw) Now let's install it upside down using only 2 of the screws! I wouldnt let this guy work on my garbage can.
Thanks for showing how u made the new connections!
this really came in handy
I have the exact same speaker and they do not fit in the rear enclosure. Anyone else have this issue?
Odd, is your's a 2003 F150 Supercrew? You may want to contact Rockford and ask if somethings changed.
Were your original adapters too small?
How much did u pay for those speakers and where did u got them from
There’s an amazon link in the description for the speakers I used
@@Pondsisawesome124 thanks much
Hey man does that harness work with any other speakers too?
Yes they do:-)
what size were the rear speakers 6x8s also?
Yes, these here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001P88U12
@@Pondsisawesome124 was there a difference in sound?
Yes, much better bass nd overall better sound.
I have to buy the harness to or just plug the new speaker in it?
No, you can clip them and put spade terminals on.
Does it fit a 6”1/2 in the front and 5”1/4 in the back door?
Has anybody seen if you can somehow modify the holes to fit 6 inch speakers?
6x8 to 6.5 adapter plate
Did the speakers rattle before or after? Just curious because there’s not any foam on them.

Do 6.5 speakers fit in this ford?
Yes you'd just need a 6x8 to 6.5 adapter
how did u make the connection from the port to speaker?
I used the adapters linked in the description:-)
No sound test?

Hey man, the rear speakers are also 6x8?
Yes, 6x8 for the front and back

@@Pondsisawesome124 do you know if the extended cab f150 back speakers are 6x8 or some other ones ?

Did you figure it out?
The new speaker connections are different from the one on the truck you should've showed how to fix that
I simply put the correct female spade lug on the end of the Metra adapters linked above. Not all speakers will have the same size lugs sadly.
I was looking to get these exact speakers for my 01 Supercrew. Nice vid 👌🏼
Thanks! 👍
Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing... now get a needle and some thread and stitch up that seat...
What do they call that exterior color?
The color according to the window sticker is "True Blue Clearcoat".
2002 and 2003 trucks had True Blue Metallic, paint code L2
Your screws are Torx, not Allen.
Thanks for the correction
Did you replace the factory head unit?
No, but I would recommend replacing the head unit at the same time to increase audio quality
I got the exact same truck lol
Dang I have my power windows glued down because it was broke

Between the poor sound and spastic camera, I couldn't watch. Sorry
