    Basically the same UI as Fresco, but with a somewhat different toolset. Some of the features missing here from desktop PS are in Fresco, mostly related to drawing/painting and animation. Fresco also uses PSD as its native format.

    Hi- asking for a bit of advice. The key I use most on desktop photoshop is probably the delete button (lol). Is there a way to get around that if I don't get a keyboard for my iPad photoshop setup? Is there like double click option?

      If you select a layer and then tap its icon in the Layers panel, a Trash icon comes up. Does that help?

    Any progress on the iPad brush engine translation for Photoshop painting? This is one of the key advantages to the desktop version. I've yet to use a tablet app that can emulate Photoshop brushes with the fidelity that the desktop version can produce. See Digital Paining Workflow - John Singer Sargent speed painting - not the same. It still takes ages to get the desired effects. If the brushes could perform identically to the desktop version, Photoshop would be mobile painting king.

    Hello, I need help with something. I'm using an iPad pro M2 and I'm an amateur photographer, I process the raw files I took in lightroom and save them to the gallery at 15 MB resolution when I export them. Later, when I open these 15 MB photo files in Photoshop, make a few simple corrections and export again quickly, the resolution drops to 900 KB and the image quality drops, I couldn't figure out where I went wrong. I'm an extremely uninformed user, by the way, do you have any knowledge of photoshop, I need help, thank you very much.

    Are iPads even reliable screens for editing. Can they be calibrated and stay tuned like a pro stationary screen?

    • @dekeNow
      @dekeNow  Рік тому

      It is possible. I believe there are even solutions that work both with a Mac and an iPad, so you don't have to purchase multiple pieces of hardware. That said, I must admit, I have not experimented with any myself.

    How do u make a simple stroke using the marquee tool?

    • @dekeNow
      @dekeNow  Рік тому +1

      I assume this is a rhetorical question, as in “how can Ps iPad be THIS lame?” Then again, in case you’re *really* wondering, you 1) draw a marquee on a new layer, 2) fill it with black, 3) add a white Stroke effect (Ps iPad offers such things now), and 4) set the blend mode for the overall layer to Multiply. Which is NOT simple. Not like drawing a marquee and choosing Edit > Stroke, for example.

    It’s certainly not like desktop PS but that’s understandable. I still love it because it gives me more freedom to travel and not having to completely adjust my workflow. I can now even work in every corner in my house instead of constantly sitting behind my desk. The only thing that I have to adjust to is my 24” Wacom tablet but other than that I’m perfectly happy :D

    While I am more of a Lightroom guy, I have been using PS going back to the mid-90s. That said, Adobe is really slow walking any serious progression on the iPad or mobile, be it PS or LR. While I may be in the minority with regard to PS/LR users utilizing the iPad for serious processing and editing, however, over the past few years, I have seen more and more photographers adopting this format, especially those who like myself are frequently in the field and like the portability of the iPad over a Macbook Pro or any laptop. So, I am hoping that Adobe will take mobile a lot more seriously in the future and give the respect that it deserves.

    USELESS! I downloaded the free trial and I can’t believe Adobe even released this. You can’t sharpen image, No focus stacking, No PEN tool, No real warp tool and many more things! PS is the Biggest brand in its field and the ipad version is joke! For years! My biggest problem is that all these features exist in Affinity Photo for a ONE TIME FEE of $20. PS is like $70 yearly. Thats crazy!! Ipads today are as strong as laptops and used much more often. The ipad version is NOT a professional tool. I will say Lightroom app works great on ipad.

    • @dekeNow

      This does seem to be the consensus. Would you like me to record an overview of Affinity Photo? It’s been on my list for a few months.

    • @michaelditcher9326
      @michaelditcher9326 Рік тому +2

      @@dekeNow sure. I have been using it for almost a year. Like always, there’s a small learning curve to get use to the UI. That being said, it has all the features you expect from a professional program. After finally willing to pay for the subscription for PS and after using it for the last month, I unfortunately can say it’s not worth paying Adobe for it. It’s surprising what Affinity offers s for just $20 (one time fee)

    • @dekeNow
      @dekeNow  Рік тому +1

      No it doesn’t. I saw a workaround where you can store a document of colors in Photoshop proper, and then sample from that in Ps iPad. But given that you can’t view two docs at once, I don’t see how that helps much.

      Ps iPad now offers Drop Shadow and Stroke, as well as Liquify. For Liquify alone, I've been considering a revisit. But Adobe has been devoting so much effort to this-it really is amazing, given how long they previously ignored it-that I thought I’d wait until next year. Who knows? Maybe by 2024, it’ll actually be good!

      It’s as if no one sat down and identified those fundamentals things that make Photoshop Photoshop. Layers and blending, to be sure. Selection tools, layer masks, check. Destructive retouching tools, at the very least. But +/- zooming, channels, drop shadows, history, layer comps, guides, color management, the Pen tool, paths, *panels,* some basic edge filters-these are all pre-CS staples. [sigh] I could have been more catty, but I prefer to stay hopeful!
