@@Leninzkis Photo editing. I like blending images to make 1 big picture. Thanks for the effort you put in your videos. They show your hard work and talent.
Hi Sophie. You can copy a selection of a layer and paste as a new layer, if that is what you're after. If so, simply make a selection, press the "Layer actions" menu ( three dots, bottom right) and choose "copy selection". Then go to the "Add new" menu and choose "Paste as new layer". If you have a keyboard, you could make a selection and use Cmd+C. Cmd+V then outputs to a new layer. Was this what you were after?
You can expand and modify a mask by painting with white or black on the mask layer. A selection can be modified by pressing "More" on the lower menu bar and choosing "Transform selection", or by activating the "add" or "remove" function. These are the little squares next to the tool menu. See 02:40
Depends on what you want to achieve. For example: you can copy the contents of your selection if you want to multiply it. You can make adjustments to your image that only affects the selected area. You can confine brush strokes to only show up in the selected area. What do you want to achieve?
@@Leninzkis thanks for the reply, think I’ve got it figured out. I wanted to save them a png’s for collage projects later. SoI select and mask and this saves the cut out. Thanks for your help 😄
I've been trying compositing on Affinity Photo for ipad and Photoshop for ipad for quite a while now and have found it physically impossible. Why do things not work for me the way they do for others? I just don't understand it. Compositing is for people with raw natural talent I've decided, simple as. I've given up on the whole idea now, I've had enough. It's just too complicated for me, I simply cannot absorb the information from videos like this. I'm just going to leave it to the talented from now on.
If it is something you really want to learn, don’t give up yet! Training trumps talent in time. Look for other UA-camrs tutorials, people teach in different ways. But if it’s just a cool thing to know, and it is too much work, then maybe spend the time on something that excites you more.
@@Leninzkis I do/did want to do it seriously, but unfortunately I'm 45 and my brain can't process things the way it used to. Last straw came last night, I'd managed to duplicate a subject layer or whatever to produce a shadow on a subject, and when I tried to edit it the whole photo went black??? I nearly slung the ipad out of the window. Every single edit is an astronomical scrap and fight, editing shouldn't be this way, it's crazy. I'm taking a week off from it and see how I feel after that, but In my opinion it's just too stressful for me. Thank you for replying.
Sounds like it might have been an inverted mask? I’m working on a video about masks, but I can’t say when it will be up. A week off sounds like a good idea, better than instantly walking away.
Your videos are great! I just binge watched all the iPad tutorials. We’d love more content like this!
Thank you! 🙂 More is on the way in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
Your videos are really great . Can you make a video about Layers and Masks please
is the color range on ipad's photoshop available like on desktop?
How do we use a polygon selection tool?
Thank you
🔥🔥 make a masking tutorial
Sure thing! Any particular focus you would like? Photo editing, drawing, etc?

Thank you, that really raises my motivation levels. 🙂
Can you also create a new layer out of a selection just like on desktop? I’ve struggled with this bit

Glad it helped. 🙂

Is there an option to use the lasso tool without the need to constantly hold it? So that i can let go and keep drawing the line after i draw again
Hey have you found a solution to this?
call me crazy, but what do I do after I make the selection ,how do I save it?
