Ok when cutting wider timber shouldn't you pull the saw back plunge down, lift the saw up, slide it in and plunge down again - cutting the board in a series of down/ up cuts? Pulling the saw back plunging down and then sliding it in can cause kickback or board suck up.
any chance to get a copy of your answer sheet for what was wrong? I'd love to use this video as part of a class where individuals have to identify what's wrong.
Four inch board is WAY too small to cut, use longer board and create the piece you need. I am a 30 year woods teacher, otherwise good info
