    since this video is very vague and people are having trouble I'm gonna try and help
    to test if you boiled your sugar syrup to the right stage drop a small amount of it in a small bowl of very cold water, the water will cool it down very quickly and you will be able to touch it without getting burnt (your hand's in the bowl of water of course) you want it to feel a bit stretchy and like the consistency of the one in the video.
    And
    To clean the pan get some boiling water (or very very hot) and pour it on the pan as soon as you pour the sugar syrup out, the hot water will melt the sugar syrup and you'll end up with a clean pan after you let it sit for like 30mins or until it's fully dissolved. AND if that fails pour the water in the pan and put it on the stove over high heat and if you want add a bit of salt to help it dissolve.
    (just know that I have not made this before BTW)
    Hope this helped!

    Maybe it's just me, like, I'm sure this is a perfectly valid DIY to do, but I don't mess around with stuff like this. It's like, 8-15 bucks to get waxed as long as it's not a Brazilian/bikini. On THAT note, ladies, if you DO use this method, don't put it anywhere near your vagina; vaginas do not like sugar, you're guaranteeing a yeast infection or UTI.

    • @ThyBountyHunter
      @ThyBountyHunter 9 років тому +91

      +ColorfulConfessions My GF wants to wax and she was looking at having me make this up and waxing her, just a quick search and I can't find any studies that link sugar wax to yeast infections. Can you link your medical studies please.

    • @user-jp4cj3ds7p
      @user-jp4cj3ds7p 9 років тому +43

      +ThyBountyHunter yeast like sugar. please, use the brain.

    • @SafetyHazard
      @SafetyHazard 9 років тому +40

      +ThyBountyHunter Its a well known fact that having sugars and just about anything that isn't water near your vagina is bad. Even most soaps are not good for it. (Like most people thing you need to use soap on your taint to get clean, but water will do the trick just fine). Sugar and other products throw off the PH balance in the vagina. It's super easy to do. Like, you can get a yeast infection just from having sex. They can come out of nowhere too. Like it's super super easy to get an infection like that, and they're a pain to deal with and get rid of. (Half of the cream medicines itch and burn like crazy for an hour before soothing and healing).
      So, even if there aren't specific things online about sugar in a vagina its safer to stay away. If your girlfriend is gonna go a head and do this on her vag anyway, she should keep it to the hair on her pubic bone and keep this stuff away from her lips/ around the opening just to play it safe. Cause obviously no one can stop her from doing it if shes aware of the risks, but she should at least be as safe as possible.

    • @Lolly27British
      @Lolly27British 9 років тому +1

      They don't always use natural products & you don't know what may in it or how sanitary they are. That's the issue

    • @AurosOrion
      @AurosOrion 9 років тому +4

      LollyXO_ That's why you find a place that does use natural products, if that's what you're after, and you can tell them to show you their sanitation process before having them do it on you. It's just like when you go to a tattoo parlor. By law, if you enter a salon, tattoo parlor, even a doctor's office, if you're concerned about the sanitation and disinfection processes of anything, you can tell them show you how they clean their implements/products. You can also ask for a list of ingredients in the product, especially if for an allergy reason (for example, I'm allergic to cucumber and it's in a TON of beauty care products.)

  • @maurajuana
    @maurajuana 8 років тому +72

    this video isnt a good example of sugaring, they did it wrong if you are using the caramel when it is still liquidy like that you are supposed to use fabric strips to rip it off like you do in waxing, and it is more painful, but if you want to do it in a less painful way you wait for the sugar to cool for like 30 minutes, take a wad of it in your hands to test the heat, then knead it in your hands for a while untill it gets thicker, cooler, and turns a lighter color. then you apply it with your hands against the direction of hair growth, and firmly peel it off in the direction of hair growth. if you are in actual pain then you are doing it wrong, it should feel slightly tingly, but not be uncomfortable. then you can reshape and reuse the same piece of caramel for the entire process, and as you go on the sugar gets lighter and lighter in color, and tougher to shape which is when it gets rid of the most hair. just look up sugaring DIY for a better example because this one is all over the place

    If you are thinking about putting it in a glass container like in the video make sure the glass is heated before hand. Otherwise it will explode. Make sure you look it up yourself and do your own research, don't just take my comment as fact. Stay safe and happy waxing.

    I did this and if you are looking to do this I recommend noyt leaving the mix on the Stove for too long, it will burn. And also use the wax quickly because it hardens easily. Mixing a lot does help.

    I did this but used 2 tablespoons brown sugar, two teaspoons of water, and a tablespoon of honey. Then microwaved it for a minute, came out great but I never got the chance to use it so I refrigerated it for 2 days but when I reheated it, it burnt to a crisp. Gonna redo it tomorrow.

    I've done this before and enjoyed it. It does last longer than shaving, like any wax. Just be careful not to miss any spots. I ended up missing a few patches here and there. Easy to do, just don't use it on your pubic hair!!

  • @SarahSteph122

    If you undercook this, you can apply strips of paper to the wax and pull it off like a regular wax strip! Be careful it doesn't get too tacky. I find when the mixture gets to a copper color, it becomes too hard to spread (which can be irritating to the skin).

    Honey wax actually is a little easier on your skin and doesn't hurt as much. It heats up and then cools quicker and can actually soften your skin a lot and it's really good for maintaining moisture.

    I want to eat it.
    Is it something that I would be ok eating? And if so, does the lemon + sugar combination make it taste bad?

      Not lemon juice specifically, lime works too. I've heard some people use vinegar which should work too but I've never tried it. Replacing it with water would probably not work
