My sweet mommy Clara loved this amazing song. She died in January 2024. She was 89 years old. I love you mom, everything is okay. 🩷 How i wish i could listen to this song with you one more time. I can’t wait to see you again one day with Jesus in glory!

My mom had at least over 30 DVD’S of the Gaithers. She passed away in March of 2020 & this is the video she wanted played at her celebration of life service. She’s in the presence of the Lord now. What a wonderful reunion we will have one day.

I grew up on Vestal! My mother was a fan! Praise be to God! I'm so grateful for a mother who loved the Lord! I'm so blessed!!! All nine of my children are saved because my mother taking a bus to Bible school! My gosh! What a blessing that one man drove a bus! 🥰
Dottie Rambo wrote this song and in 2020 I used to play this for my best friend who died a few months later from a 10 year fight with breast cancer. So glad for this beautiful song.

I came across this video just this week, and had never heard of Vestal Goodman before. Tonight I asked my mother if she knew of her, and she told me that my older sister Joy (who went home to be with Jesus 11 years ago) had been friends with Mrs. Goodman. Small world! What an amazing gift from God Vestal and Dottie both were. Good ol’ music like this is just what this world needs to be hearing right now.

I don't know the exact date I wrote that comment, but mom must have been called home right afterwards...she passed away on Dec 30, 2022. I'm sure there was quite a reunion in Heaven for her, my dad (they were married for 61 years), and my sister Joy.

I pray that someday my husband will come to the Lord, I try talking to him about it and he doesn't want to hear it, I told him since I have known Jesus, my heart feels so complete and he asked me "why then do you cry when you talk about him or listen to music? and I told him, "Oh hunny, those are not tears of sadness, they are tears of joy, I can feel Jesus, and there is no better feeling in this world than being embraced by my savior"... ... I just continue to pray for him, and I know one day he will come to know Jesus the way I do and then he will understand my "tears"...... Hallelujah!!!!
My husband and I were not Christians when we married. Shortly after I got saved. I prayed for my husband for 10 years before he came to the Lord. Now he loves him as much I do. We have been married 47 years we were very young when we married. Never give up just trust God. I used to sing in a choir at church and would always go to the altar when our Pastor would give an altar call. He would tell me “Don’t you give up, God hears your prayers. Keep looking across the congregation and someday your husband will be sitting out there.” Sure enough God was faithful to His word!

I can NEVER watch this clip enough. Two of the most AMAZINGLY TALENTED women, both in music and spirit in all of gospel music. I can only imagine one day in the Kingdom of GOD when we all are able to listen to songs of praise like this, and SO MANY MORE, to our precious GOD ALMIGHTY for eternity. I have to say, I imagine GOD smiles every time he hears them sing. Not just these two, but many, many more of the gospel greats that have changed our lives through the years with their music. My mom loved the Lord with all her heart and died early at 51. As a small child I would see her in the kitchen doing dishes and she would be singing this old song. My how I miss her tonight. Hug your living loved ones and tell them how much you love them because when the Lord takes them home it will change you forever. I am 65 now but I still remember her singing this like it was yesterday. May this song bring you hope and comfort!

The Jesus I knows, knows I’m human and a complete mess or there would have been no reason for his salvation in the first place. The law has been fulfilled by him and now all we need to do is accept him and repent and acknowledge in our hearts as “the lord sees the heart” he knows even the things we don’t want him too, he just wants us to willingly come and lay it at his feet willingly. We have free will because he’s just and he’s not a puppeteer he created us for him and to live with him, not for him to control 100% even though he has every ability. He wants us, he wants a relationship with us, he cares for us and that’s why he created us and even preserved his creation even during a time he completely wiped it all away… he still wanted us and that’s why he warned Noah to prepare.

This song brings joy to my heart every time I hear it. My mother died at 79 and she looks like the black Gloria Gaither. Same size and beautiful face and lovely voice. Thank God for the mothers in our lives and we know that those who have gone before are with our Lord and maker.
