On 15th of October, 2022 my Grandmother entered into the gates of Heaven and is now rejoicing with her Lord and Saviour Jesus, This song is a reminder to us believers that it won't be long until we reach our real home, I'm homesick for heaven.
My Momma asked ONLY one thing, she asked that this song be played as she left her earthly body. I did play, and it was THIS . Mr. Dixon and all the saints sang my Mom home to see her Father!
Dottie Rambo wrote this and sooo many beautiful songs. She truly was a vessel of God and a target of satan as he brought her such trials. She is no longer homesick along with the blessed Mr Dixon. We will see all these singers again in a land where homesickness is no more.
I am listening to Jesse right now June 2024. I saw him in person years ago at a church in DC but don't remember him singing, now as I listen to him I wonder why I did not follow his singing. I just love his singing. Usually watch the Gaither church in the morning.

Saw the Gaither's show in San Antonio around 2004. Jesse did this song dancing and prancing around the Spurs arena. I was younger then and didn't know the effort it took for him to do what he did. Amazing.

Dottie Rambo some time ago wrote a song that, it blessed me the moment I heard it. We had a lady right here in this city the other day. I didn't know who she was but, of course the Lord knew. She said "you'll never know how much it blessed me". And I pray that it'll bless you tonight. John's going to help me on the choruses. I've Never been this home sick before, Danny!
So sorry to hear about Jessy Dixon's passing. He lived a long full life, turning 100 this summer. He will surely be missed. Jessy didn't talk much about it but he was the last surviving Tuscagee Airman. May he rest in peace!

Dottie Rambo did in fact write this song. I'm not sure of the year, however I do know that it was a chart-topper in 1977.
Thanks Josh, I knew she must have, she wrote so very,very many fantastic songs in her life. She was a special person. We've lost too many of those wonderful people that have brought so many including myself happiness and joy with their beautiful music.

I remember the time he visited our little but beautiful country Barbados and notwithstanding we are just a little dot in the ocean he came and share his lovely talent and stardom with us. He blessed us emencely and with all his fame and popularity, he was such a humble individual. He was richly blessed by God and his presence will live on and on.
