Ted Brewer's boats are just beautiful. Before Ted had died, I had hired Ted to help me out with the conversion of a Canadian Navy Whaler to a motorsailor, the Nimble was used as the basis of the conversion. He was a wonderful man, not an ounce of pretension in his bones, easy to talk to. He mentioned he wished he could travel to see the boat when done, but he figured that wouldn't be possible. The boat is in the water, and now working on the interior.
early in the vid I saw the price and thought it was very overpriced, but after seeing all the upkeep and upgrade on it, I realize at 25K, it's a steal.
If I could afford it, I would buy it tomorrow. It's absolutely beautiful. I've been seeing a lot more people sailing around the world in boats this size. People have really figured out the old adage, "Go small, go now."
😂Brilliant Salty Dawg! 🐙Sailing in “bad weather” is terrifying no matter what the weight of your boat 😂 hey I think your mom is calling you. Spaghetti is ready 🤡
@TOMVUTHEPIMP Sam Holmes sailed from California to Hawaii in a Ranger 23. Personally, I've always loved "adverse" weather. There's just something about being lost in the sound of a torrential downpour and merging with the water as you get soaked to the core. Growing up in Florida in the late 80s and early 90s really taught me to appreciate a good soaking. Sure, I busted some teeth in the ocean, but I've never been afraid of it.
Don’t get me started on the Sven Yrvind UA-cam shell game. 🤨Nonsense! 🥸The fact that you think he’s some sort of sailing wizard tells me how little you know. There are many “salty dawgs” that have experience but all you have to do is watch his daily gibberish to see he’s playing the fantasy spectacle to get over on UA-cam views. This is not real boat building nor boat restoration 👎
Saw one of these Nimble 25 at the Benjamins in the North Channel of Lake Huron..... Looked at it enviously from my Sandpiper 565 and have wanted one ever since. One of the most beautiful classic styles.
I've been watching this boat for a good year. Dreams of adventure, but just not the right time to buy for me. You have a great narration voice and persona. Ill be checking in time to time!
Beautiful boat. My father had a Bruce Roberts 21' longboat for quite a while. Lots go good memories on it. He currently has an Albin 25 trawler. He is slowly doing the loop and enjoys day trip on a lake in NC.
@@motorcityboatwerks I was using Siri and dictation and it didn’t quite come out right but I edited it saying that I thought they were pretty nice and practical boats lol this is back in 1977
Being that far North, it would be tempting to sail through the Great Lakes up to Disko Bay then start heading back South. What a beautiful boat, thank you sir.
Very nice little boat looks very capable and comfortable. It's not so much a question of what the boat is capable of but of what the crew are capable of.
Wow... I love this boat... Such a classic look... great lines... It is a showpiece to be proud of... I live in Clearwater Florida but I have never heard of this or seen one... Fantastic 😁 This is what I love to hear. Making friends and influencing people. Please help spread the word about the channel. And thanks for the comment 👍👍
They were made in Odessa FL, in Pasco County. On the west side of Gunn Highway approaching from the south and just short of the old flea market. They used to sit the hull molds and hulls outside a pretty small shed at the side of the road! You may be confused with Compac yachts who made up to 28' boats in Largo/Clearwater Hurcules Avenue area.

Right Scott ! this is why I’d didn’t buy the boat. What a great deal , but I already have several and need to stay focused. My is someone will see this and find the boat they need 😁
wow - and to think they were made right in clearwater where i lived for ages. love this little boat and wow! what amazing shape. price seems quite reasonable.
I concur. With the mast/tabernacle combination, outboard motor, and flat bottom it should have no problem navigating any part of the Mississippi and shallows. Fueling will be easy as it can use gasoline from anywhere. However to use anywhere? No way. Too light, no keel to speak of to keep it tracking well and tacking would be difficult as a solo sailor. There is not enough room for fuel & potable water storage or for refrigerated or frozen food. There is no survival gear or advanced electronics (chart plotter, AIS, etc.) evident and definitely no radar. How do you recharge the batteries? That v-berth has me feeling claustrophobic and I served on submarines in the Navy! The two things about her that are nice is the protected pilot house & helm and the bow thruster. Cannot picture her and crew making a long passage.

If I owned this boat, she would quite possibly never see the ocean. With her shallow draft and trailer-ability, you could spend a lifetime exploring the lakes and waterways of America and with that little diesel stove you could include Canada and Alaska. Several lifetimes, actually. Time for a small, diesel/multi-fuel outboard with with reduction box and a decent size prop. For a boat of this heft and windage, it’s low-end thrust you need to get you home against a stiff headwind.

How hard is it to stand up and fold down that mast? Is it a 1 person job? I think this is about the size I'd like as long as it was easily trailerable.

Beautiful, this has the only shortcoming I see on a lot of boats is the lack of dingy storage.
Hard to argue this is a shortcoming in a 25 foot boat. More like a design parameter 😂
