    I didn't imagine you driving over a bridge at Walkers Crossing, that was a surprise !!. Sad story about the chap it was named after, but that's not uncommon for the outback, it's part of what it is !!. Very enjoyable, thanks for your efforts and sharing, stay safe, cheers.

      To be honest... it wasn’t what we were expecting either! Looked as though the bridge was a recent addition to the crossing (how new, not sure).
      Thanks BigKev for your support 👍🏼

    Hey there, enjoyed your video, at 4.28 mins you mentioned you had to do a lot of map reading... can you explain in more detail... I take it there was no signage in parts... what maps did you use and what would make navigating it easier? I'm travelling that way in June 22..

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  2 роки тому

      Gday Peter,
      There is little to no signage out there, with lots of different roads whether for mine use, farm tracks or community roads. It was sometimes hard to work out the actual track. Sections of the track had been graded for mine use but you only followed it for short distance before getting back into 2 wheel track sort of roads.
      We use the Hema maps through the OziExplorer App on a tablet, as well as paper Hema maps. Was a big help on this one.

      Thanks for your quick reply , very grateful as we are planning it at this moment, I have to admit from what's on you - tube you have the best commentary and video quality.
      I've heard mixed reports on Hema map app.. did you find it worked off-line ok? We have already purchased the paper ones.

      Thanks Map, appreciate the kind words.
      We use the Hema map files but use the OziExplorer App. Works well, the android tablet picked up GPS signal just fine.

      Gday Craig thanks for tuning in and thanks for the feedback!
      We had a few issue with our early vids with audio levels when viewed on a TV, a strange issue but we think we’ve got it fixed for all our latest vids. Have a watch and let us know what you think!
      Cheers again! 👍🏼

    Hey guys love the videos. We are heading to the big red bash in 2021 from Melbourne from Innaminka to birdsville the way you went is there ant SERIOUS four wheel driving and is there any way you could tell me of speeds you could travel??

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  4 роки тому

      Gday Dean!
      What an awesome trip! Big Red Bash is a must do!
      We travelled along the Walkers Crossing track, but no, There wasn’t any extreme four wheel driving, when we crossed it, it would of been doable in any AWD / high clearance vehicle. The alternative is the Cordillo Downs Rd from Innamincka which heads into Birdsville from the east.
      We averaged 50 - 60kms/ph along the walkers crossing track, only a few spots were sat on 20kms/ph through a few bumps and dips.
      the Birdsville track was in decent nick so sat on average 70 - 80kms/ph

      @@Wanderingaus_adv thanks so much for the information. One other question was coming from Birdsville down the Birdsville track can you give us a rough estimate of speeds comfortably achievable (sealed or not)

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  4 роки тому

      Sorry for the delayed reply!
      We averaged about 70kms some slower sections but was in good nick
