Jarrah? Is great name fir a red dawgie ❤❤❤❤
Just pinch some bait of ya neighbours there!😂😅
We have a very similar set up, it’s a great rig. Great vid too, really glad we stumbled upon your channel 👍

265/70/17 is 31.6 mate. Not 33's imo.
Thanks for the video 👌
winch? kitchen set-up? jack or hi-lift? air compressors?
The border nazis can be rather obnoxious as they DEMANDED I empty the entire car! When I refused, they called in a hiding police officer, who suggested that I comply. I said NO, I have no contraband, drugs, hidden cattle, penguins or vegetables . He then , with the border nazi, checked my fridge, food boxes and a general overview, then asked to look in my clothing and personal bags. I again refused and suggested, that the whole process was way too heavy handed and maybe he needs to get a search warrant and a reality check. I was then waved thru and they were given the one finger salute as I left There is a need for protection of our agricultural and pastoral zones, but not a nasty and abrupt attitude and a ridiculous level of aggro and suspicion from a single person on the border check squad. Previously I had no issues and it was quick and pleasant and was based on your declaration and a check of food stuffs and a visual check only. “ Times they are a changing”, said Bob Dylan. Great to hear your family connection to the great Len Beadell, he was a true pioneer and outback legend for his work.
Beautiful video , so congratulations with the filming, editing, production and music overlay! I will be doing this trip soon, so I appreciated your advice Well done!
Yo Mr A hope you’re doing well these days ! - Astro
Nice rig minus the camper. I was expecting a room inside other than the tent.
How long in millimetres is the canopy mate?
1820mm
Nice build, you have put a lot of work into the vehicle. Not sure if you are aware that DMW in QLD has Federal approval last year for second stage manufacture for next Gen Ford Rangers. They offer a GVM increase of 3800 kg & 4250 kg with chassis strengthening along with GCM increase. My sister has just had her new ranger upgraded to 4250 Enjoy your videos. cheers Jeff & Sharyn
Ex Army Survey Squadron (formerly survey corps, and aerial surveyor who has surveyed the Nullarbor, via air, and my great great grandfather was also a pre ww1 surveyor who lived in Adelaide. I’ve probably been in contact with soldiers who may have known Len, but the eldest I knew where Vietnam era. The old survey school building in Moorebank was called the Milne Bay building, most likely after the ww2 surveyors stationed at Milne Bay 👌
Hey great video for me. you said you bought double cap chassis but in the video there was no alloy tray. Can you order without alloy tray and is that more cheaper?
Gday Kim, essentially yes. A cab chassis is cheaper than a tub dual cab Ute.
Thanks and I can’t wait for next video for canopy and 12v system set up .
Hey I have another Q. You bought dual cab chassis and what did you do with your original tray? I mean did you sell it or you bought a car without tray?
@@aussiekim0825 Double Cab Chassis means it comes with no tray. Only the cab and the chassis. You put your own tray.
Great setup and video. I'm looking at a Ranger also, what's the rough cost of these options?
Nice set up guys. Do you know what the vehicle weighs now? Looking at doing a similar set up but also want to tow a van.
The ARB GVM upgrade kits absolutely do not increase your GCM. The only second stage manufacturer that offers a GCM with their GVM upgrades is Lovells Engineering. You have a GVM upgrade and an axle load limit upgrade. Not a GCM upgrade.
Can only go off my paperwork and SA rego documents that list these figures…
Nice build🤙🤙 In SA also... What was the cost of the wrap?
Roughly $4k
You got a gcm upgrade with old man emu suspension?
what the dog
Australian Kelpie mate
Very well planned out, a really sweet build! Looking forward to seeing how you do the electrics. Thanks for posting.
Great vid, nice rig. Question - Do you know what the difference in weight was between your empty canopy compared to a tub and canopy set up?
Thanks Brian Hard question to answer, depends entirely on what you set a tub and canopy up with. We’ve always preferred a tray over a tub, giving us clean and flat access to 3 sides of our tray, or in the case of a canopy like this 2 sides. Makes for accessing, packing and designing much easier. Has it a guess, the ally canopy would be touch heavy empty then an empty tub and fibreglass canopy, but there wouldn’t much in it. Especially if you then need to add support bars to your fibreglass canopy so you can put weight on the roof, like a roof platform.
Pretty much 32 s
I said 265/70/R17's whilst looking at the 285/70R17's actually fitted XD Have added a caption now to correct that.
Hey guys, brilliant set up. You may need to check your tyre size though. Your audio says 265/70R17 but the vision shows 285/70R17.
Good pick up! Not sure what I was reading and saying! 😂 Definitely Toyo 285/70R17’s
@@Wanderingaus_adv how's the fuel economy going ?
Good to see you 2 back , love the colour.
Thanks John! We love the colour too!
Nice.
Pretty!
Mate looks awesome, one thing Id be checking with your gvm upgrade is last time I checked arb gvm upgrade didnt change the gcm, its been a while so that might have changed but just for piece of mind Id be looking into it
Because our GVM upgrade was completed pre rego, fitted out and then chucked over the weigh bridge, Service SA have plated our GCM maintained at 3500kg.
@@Wanderingaus_adv awesome
@@Wanderingaus_adv wrong!
I think the point where this failed was the start when you brought the ranger. 2nd most popular car but the worst for warranty, ford will leave you dry.
I suppose it’s each to their own. This is our 3rd generation Ford Ranger. 2009, 2016 and now 2023, our experience seems to be different. We’ve not been let down yet. Popularity of car doesn’t come into it. Using that principal, some of the great touring cars of the past you wouldn’t rate? Each to their own. But we think Ford have nailed this one.
@@Wanderingaus_adv i drive a challenger. They had a bad fault in them, mits still warranty them for new motors years after warranty ran out , ford will never do this…. but i suggest watching john cadogan and fouby4diesel …. I think they are well versed in diesels, maintenance , lemons and car manufacturers, the good and the bad.
@@Rustic_Farmer as we said each to their own. We’ve taken each of our rangers 3/4 around Australia, across some of the most remote outback tracks. This channel is proof of that. We intend to do the same with this new build. In fact June / July this year we set off for a trip across the famous Gunbarrel Highway and Sandy Blight Junction Rd. Only time will tell
Just found your channel. Great video. I pick up our wildtrak on Wednesday. Can’t wait!!
Welcome to the Channel mate! Enjoy the new rig! They’re beautiful!
Nice setup. As much as I love my Ranger, I wouldn't trust it for remote touring. To be honest, I wouldn't trust any modern 4x4 apart from a 79 or pre 2000's 4x4.
We’ll be giving ours a good test in June. Sandy Blight Junction and Gunbarrel Highway.
Well enjoy sitting at home then mate @Mikelennon. What a pessimistic view. Don't worry about replying, I'll be out in my post 2000's 4x4 "Risking it" LOL
Wow the guys at Go4x4, done a awesome job 😊
They sure did! Great crew
Love the colour
Looks awesome in person! Way different to sandy taupe
Good to see you back can't wait to see your adventures but I think I got the best Ranger still loving her👍
Thank you!!
Are you going to add a winch later?
Yeah mate. Just working through all the different brands out there. We had a winch in our old Ranger and never used it, but I suppose it’s a just in case.
WOW fantastic set up guys, well done she's a beaut, look forward to your next adventure.
Thankyou so much for the wiki links much appreciated
Just the service we provide! Enjoy!
Glad Goeff Lewis highlighted your channel, very interesting! I subscribed. We have had an old Jaffle Iron for years and I never really knew how to use it, thanks for the instruction.
Glad you made it across to our Channel and welcome! It’s the little tricks of the trade that help the most. Big fan of a campfire jaffle. The more you use your jaffle iron the more forgiving it becomes!
🎉HBD Jessicaaaaaaaaaa
Thank youuuu
I’m really enjoying you two❤, only seen 3, but I’m onboard!
Thanks Greg! Appreciate the support!
Hey guys what month did you actually do this trip. We are planning on travelling the Nullarbor very soon. Thanks
Hey guys! This was June / July 2023. Enjoy!
4:46 left hangin' 😂😮
Hey guys! Just found your channel and subscribed. We are also travelling around Aus and are documenting our journey too :) nice video!
Thanks George and welcome to the channel! Where are you currently? Safe travels!!
@@Wanderingaus_adv thanks! We recently crossed the Nullarbor, now we are near Albany, WA. Whereabouts are you guys?
What about permits. How did you go about acquiring them
Permits are completed through the different councils / lands you plan on entering. Most of them are now available online which makes it far easier than it ever use to be!
I always enjoy your videos, and this Anne Beadell Highway series has been no exception. Hardly surprising given your personal connection to the subject matter. Its been a little while since you uploaded. Hope everything is good with you guys and there are no issues. Really looking forward to your next vid 🙂
Gday Martin! Apologies for the late reply. We had some pretty significant technical issues with footage. We tried for a while to recover lost footage but unfortunately didn’t have much luck. But we’ll be back again! We’re headed out again in June doing the Sandy Blight Junction road and the Gunbarrel Highway! 👌🏼
This video was more about your car, your camp, you, and your food. What about the track ?
Hey fair call. Feedback taken on board. We try and tell a story of the day/a captured but track is important to that. Thank you!
8:02 that dual carriageway section could be sealed and then it would be even better than most highways in Australia
Just stumbled onto your channel and it's very rewarding to see a couple enjoying the outback. Special kudos to your family heritage. We have so much to thank Len for in opening up this wonderful country. Travelling all his tracks was on my bucket list and I'm pleased to say its been ticked off. Did the trip East to West in 2010 on the way to the CSR. The SA side of the track was very bad, but, improved considerably once we crossed the border into WA. Keep the spirit alive and travel safe.
Thanks Charles and welcome to the channel. We love the bush, it runs in our blood. We’re lucky to be able to share it with everyone. Safe travels!
