This just feels like a rehash of Black Flag but mainly focusing on the sea battles

Rockstar without fireguns is lost (yes they had fireguns back then but they were few and shitty ones)

it's a minor version of the very early game "sea dog" pirates game. which demage models are simpliied.
i got hooked. the very first naval battle . YO HO YO HO A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME.

Would've liked it if the boarding was like in black flag. I wanna actually go in kill not let me scallywags do it for me.
No wonder Ubisoft games aren't doing so hot like they used to. Put actual cutscenes! There's no way they don't use mo-cap cutscenes even at the beginning of the game. Some hot trash Ubisoft is becoming.(ur content is good tho Zanar🙂👍)

Sorry, warship modelling is a complete amateur. The bow gun has never been seen before. Mind you there are sloping masts and guiding sails at the front, and the gun doors in the CG are fixed, whereas the real ones were pulled open with a drawstring from the hatch, not fixed.

That naval combat at the beginning looked waaaaay too easy. I understand this isn't made to be a "simulation" of real ship combat, but it still needs a bit of simulator or challenge applied. Also, can you raid other ships and have sword / musket skirmishes?
No you can't. You can "board" the other ship but it's just a cutscene, the only combat you can do is naval. I could play the beta for 6hours and gave up after 1hr because it got boring, i went back to Sea of Thieves, a far superior pirate game 😊

That was my first thought as well!
Instead of the upgrade system being mostly on the character, it's all on the ship and crew, at least as it seems now.
For one, that looks to be actually pirate oriented and hopefully not 80 percent tailing missions. Customizable ships, much faster fire rate and overall polish make the game looks much better. Hopefully the story is much better than the one used for black flag

i like that there is clothing customisation at least, but for the rest no thanks, i'l stick to black flag, I''s agood thing modders repaired the kenway's fleet feature and community events at least to a degree, ubisoft certainly can't be bothered to fix their own game
I'm already tired of Ubisoft making games with the same concept, the interaction cutscenes always poorly done.
i wish at least 1 game had a change, cutscenes in the same way GTA or RDR2 does for example, all side missions are cutscenes and not just 2 characters standing around talking doing the same movements.
and I'm not even going to talk about the missions.
the problem is that ubisoft always rushes ideas they don't take their time to make games well
They only care about money its so obvious quick cash low quality affordable game to develop

That was literally always the point of this, to be a spinoff of the naval combat of Black Flag.
Ac Black Flag ship battles actually looks better. You could really feel the impact of the shots when you hit the targer or got hit, this feels the same as firing a gun in that knock off call of duty ubisoft made, just hitmarkers and no feeling behind it. The camera movement looks a bit jarring, the particle effects feel outdated and it doesn't look like it has half of Black Flag's atmosphere (I don't know how to explain why, but it just doesn't)

Farming trees from the boat seems lame, should be able to get off your ship anywhere and go chop down a tree, big no go from me 🤷♂
Regardless of this being an obvious spin-off of Assasin Creed 4, it still looks like it has the potential of being a solid game, but it all will depend on if they can make a storyline that can grasp us in its clutches! So far, I'm not too impressed.
Agreed. If its all battle its just World of Warships dressed in older ships.
Exploding cannonballs? Ships air horns? Boats travelling at 70mph? Shouting through megahorns? Looks like some cheap Chinese mobile game
Yes down with society and lining the pockets of the rich! That'll be $60 no refunds. This game is looks like ass wasn't interested in it before and even less interested after waiting 5 years. If this had released near Black Flag maybe but it just looks inferior to that game's naval combat in every way.

They better not release this game if it doesn't have a real estate island/land takeover...Property acquiring ect..it would make no sense to have a pirate game without any real estate aspect to it...Or did people that don't understand pirates and columbus try to tell another false story and cut corners to sell a product they don't understand???

During the golden age of piracy during the mid-1700's in the Carribean, many pirates were black as they often attacked slave ships and liberated the slaves and become working crew. History is interesting.

*alright so, assassin's creed black flag is still sadly the best pirate game we have and its ok at best. Terrible story and forgettable characters. Mid b rated gameplay. Definitely a pirate game and not a assassin's creed game.*
