Yeah true I'm trying to replay BF for 3 years but i quit it because the Kenway's fleet doesn't work, and Ubi support team "investigating" this issue for over a year and doing nothing.

It’s just crazy to me that they had a perfect blueprint and just said nah.
they know whales will still defend and throw money at the game cus people are stupid enough to play the division thinking its anything more than a dull looter shooter. dont worry though give it 5 months the game will be on game pass when most of the community has left and ubisoft has to try to bring people into the game by making it free.

1. feels the weight of the ship
2. the damage caused by the iron cannon hitting the wood feels more reasonable
3. the horror of the waves on the dark open sea during a bad storm was felt more
Skull & Bones :
1. the ship feels more like a lego ship, it is light and can fly whenever it wants.
2. too much fire from an iron cannon hitting a wooden ship, if they used modern missiles it might make more sense that there would be that many sparks
3. the storm at sea is more like just colored dark effects, less feel the real horror of the open sea in the middle of a very bad storm
In terms of graphics, it's probably more about over-enhancement and unnecessary effects

AC4 was made through 3 years of development, 4 if we add the fact that AC3 had been in development since before AC3's release, and AC4 was basically created out of AC3's leftovers. S&B took 10 years to create... Just think of the development chaos behind this game, it is unbelievable...@@JsphCrrll

same Black flag, Ogrins revelations. all the best AC games. Skull and bones isnt what i thought it would be it needs hand to hand and open world elements then it would be a top contender for the grown but that was wishful thinking

Skull and Bones it's like a half assed game compared to Black Flag. No boarding animation, no ship landing aground, while on ship you can walk around, climb on ship or just jump out. The freedom to do whatever. Now it's gone woke too.

I gave the victory to Black Flag when Skull has no battle in the ship invasion, a much newer game, but half-made, blackflag is complete and made with love, a game ahead of its time.

Who wants to just press X to invade a ship and have it all done in 10 seconds with a cutscen where in black flag u can actuly swim / swing to the ship yourself climb all around it while fighting off its crew and cut the flag down.
S&B is a joke to me. But the release of it is an attempt to make money on trash. This project needed to be shut down because it was a failure. It never became what it set out to become. And now. Ubisoft have stitched it together as a somewhat complete game. If you see world of tanks but with pirate ships like a complete game. Nah. I see this being pushed because they saw oppertunities for adding microtransactions to the game when it's more just an online battle game like world of tanks.
Like i said. It's a joke. But it's ment to be taken seriously. Don't waste time on it. Don't let them think that the game has a player base. Let them know that you find the game presented to you to be disappointing by not engaging in the game and by not adding a number to the active players. If only people understood this simple and logic trade in the gaming industry. When the big corporations f up. You show it by not giving any attention to their bad product.
We've just had years where people instead engaged in bad products. Bad games and glitchy games were treated like gems that were fun because they were broken. This completely ruined the gaming industry for way too long. Where games actually just released broken because it gave the game popularity and people wanted to play and stream it because they wanted to laugh at the bad product. But in the end these games made a lot of profit on the popularity they got on being broken.

Slow the ships down, make more realistic sail motion, improve damage models, make ship interios to walk around out of battle for repairs, medic room, crew quarters to improve visuality and rpg features. This game looks like a tech demo from 2015.
S&B looks like the Demo for Black Flag, would've been nice if it was basically Black Flag without the Assassin stuff in it. Being able to go to all islands, If you were fast enough being able to hop off the wheel and solo board a vessel and exploring the shipwrecks were all so fun.
Just wish there was more interaction with your fleet/crew like calling for aid when in a naval battle or have some crew work like the Assassins in Brotherhood. Plus I like the Jackdaw however I did wish at times that I had a bigger ship to use the swivel to hit the top deck of a Man O' War's.

@@UlpianHeritor you do realize that the original AC: Black Flag itself had numerous in-depth and well written female characters. Throwing the word "woke" around is not good of a criticism. Black Flag wasn't considered woke in 2013/2014, but I guess now, people like you will call it that.
A slower paced pirate rpg would be one of the best selling games ever. Ship battles that actually took time and tactics, maybe even able to comand small fleets. That would be amazing
A remake of 2003's Pirates of the Caribbean would be amazing. Or any Sea Dogs title for that matter.
There's a game called Naval Action. Its slow paced and realistic. The gameplay could took maybe 20min to an hour just to sunk a ship. But that's why its not so great, some people complain its too looong to play. So I think this fast paced ship battles are enough.

Black flag is truly on a league of its own! One of the best games ive ever played! That right there was a pirate simulation! Being on the boat really felt like you were sailing thru the ocean!
its not a simulation, but its the best arcade playable game to feel like a pirate.
While skull and bones feels like Eve Online with boats and water. I will pass . Sea of thieves had better features then this
And the songs! Ohh the songs. Always made me sing too. And it was a blast. There were moments where the crew sang in an intense battles too, that was *AWESOME* I want to play it again.

@@SymonTemplah that’s the beauty, the annoyingly long mission suddenly became so much more bearable with just the fact the crew could sing. I enjoyed sailing from one side of the map to another with out speed travel, doing anything I found on the way to the main objective. Truly a great game.
Jesus the storm in Skull and Bones looks so much worse than in Black Flag. The one field where S&B should actually be easily winning and it fails miserably. So sad.
It looks HORRIBLE, it misses all the Effects of BF and even got a graphics dowgrade, that is... a disgrace.
And also the boarding ship in Black Flag is more funny and detailed.

If Black Flag is an Assassin’s Creed fanfic of the Golden Age of Piracy, then Skull and Bones is a fanfic of Black Flag, and that’s not a compliment. It’s ironic how Ubisoft made fun of themselves in Black Flag with Abstergo’s concept trailer for Devils of the Caribbean (or whatever it was called), and yet this fits exactly like what Abstergo would release. When will they realize that self-awareness means nothing if they don’t actually DO anything about the flaws they admit to.

The interaction between the ship and sea animations looks better in black flag. I want more spray. More movement of the water level in relation to the ships hull. Whoever animated skull and bones seems to have never been on the sea
That S&B gameplay sequence with the ships crashing into each other at full speed felt more arcadey than Mario Kart. Only missing thing would be torpedoes with koopa shells...

I think two things have happened. Black Flag did something so ahead of its time (in terms of the navel sections) they set the bar incredibly high to begin with. It's obvious S&Bs has gone through development hell which even if things were plain sailing (pun intended) it would have been tricky to beat the brilliance of the 'at sea' sections of BF.
They didn't have to beat it though, they just had to do the EXACT SAME THING. If this was another company, maybe, but it's literally the same one, so they get no grace from me
No such thing as set the bar too high. Its a decade ago, everything has increased and improved. Games were 20 gb max, now 100gb avarage. We played with 900 pixels, now with 2k at least. They were working with UE2 or 3. We have 4 (and partly 5). There is nothing that can justify a game thats 10 years older but plays like 10 years younger. They have every technology at their disposal to create a game 10x better than BF. There is no walking hand combat, no boarding combat, cannons shoot like pistols, graphics are meh. Basically this game is half the game of what BF was and thats just not right for a game thats 10 years older.

Black Flag was one of my most favorite games and its unfortunate that that they didnt take more inspiration from it.
its the best pirate game thats for sure,ac oddysey is a better game overall,a shame they didnt put more effort in the sailing,yeah its ancient greece not the golden age of piracy,but realism was never a thing with these games so why not just go full on the ship system also

was really funny watching the black flag boarding in super speed.
though i will say it is unfortunate that blag flag still seems to have more atmosphere and character. I am excited for, and had fun playing the beta for skull and bones, but I wish they took more inspiration from black flag than just the ship combat. BF was amazing from start to finish, the feeling was unique, every moment felt like you were really there and free to sail and do as you wished. It was a really unique feeling...idk why they couldnt nail that again, its the same damn company.
why do people always want another AC game on the Sea ??? its a game that only concentrate on the life of the sea nothing more just a pirates life. No Jumping around much on land or anything else related to AC gameplay.

I'm usually telling people to stop expecting skull and bones to be black flag 2, but it is striking how amazing and timeless the original was. Probably because their team had a unified vision and stuck to it, unlike skull and bones which has had many issues during development
@@zaclovesschool2273 the thing is every thing skull and bones has sea of thieves does better sure you dont have the cannon options like skull and bones but that the only thing better, sea of thieves is way better, skull and bones has more cannons and graphics. sea of thievs has combat with swords naval combat plus exploration solo or with a crew up to 4. a more realistic sea of thieves would be a award winning pirate game. sea of thieves for veteran players needs a refrewsh but for new players there so much to do i got over 700+ hours in the game and there is still more to grind for but ive played so much i need a refresh. on graphics and new stuff to do. but the game is great.
I wonder if you are willing to kill 15 people on that ship to be able to capture the ship everytime. Having all the animations and all in multiplayer game. How would that work on the server with 20 people. It seems like SnB is more focused on fast naval fights. Just play BF if you want the atmosphere and character.

The constant switching of the camera during battle in S&B looks so janky and adderall addicted, whereas the original's more static camera looks so much more immersive.
I felt dizziness while watching the video. I had never experienced such state while gaming before, so that’s a great indicator how fucked up the camera movement is.

@@curbowbass6124 My guy, BOARDING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING in a pirate game or any naval battle before WWI. Nelson's battle with Napolean's fleet, Boarding was the most crucial tactic he did when faced again the Franco-Spanish fleet that it even gave a name to his strategy - the Nelson touch. Also Captain Blackbeard died in a boarding battle and pirates mostly board their enemies to secure their ship and more loot. Even Sid Meier Pirates get this point, a game decades old.
It was because of this face, AC4 felt more like a Pirate game than this Arcade over glamourized barnacle trash.

Do you think ubisoft could nail the landing when S&B would probably be the blueprint for an AC4 remake? I mean they had the blueprint for a perfect game with AC4 to S&B and they fucked it up HARD. I mean 11 years and 120 mil budget for S&B, compared to 4 years and less than 100 mil budget on AC4

Great video. Thanks for posting. Disappointed that when boarding in S&B, there is no combat. Also appears, maneuvering in AC:BF is slower and more realistic. S&B battle look like they are on speed. This video convinced me to ignore S&B and go replay AC:BF again.
Look at the crew during the storm. In Black Flag they get down, sailors hold on to objects. In S&B people just walk from side to side like it was sunday.
I'm not even touching skull and bones unless they add the other half of the game back in, wtf ubisoft really? Defend it all you want but its nothing but a stripped down black flag with less than half the content.

Skull and Bones might be the best pirate game we ever had. Stunning visuals, a creative new approach on the ship mechanics and refreshing exploration ideas. Not to mention the many movie like cutszenes when boarding another ship. For sure it was worth this decade of development. Waiting for in-game purchase possibility to customise and design my ship and a battle pass for the grind.

even the songs i prefer in black flag. they sound more like theyre actually on the ship, like real people are singing them. In the new one its more like theyre in a studio singing it and it got slapped onto the ship with no physical distance btw them. I think my main issue currently is the lack of atmosphere that was VERY present in black flag.

black flag and rougue were the best!! the camera angle was perfect, it captured the sense of being part of the crew, much better immersion

Yes it’s releasing sometime in February (almost here). It’s not single player, pvp is insignificant (pvp component might change on release). Not much land exploration, only in town hubs to trade stuff, or pick up voyages. Not sure about the story but your character doesn’t speak

In S&B, can you only fire 1 cannon at once or can you fire the whole volley at once, cause i wana blasta ship like a shotgun and not just 1 little ball at a time?
Some of them shoot in turns, others simultaneously, you can choose any in the port, but you understand that the beta was only 6 hours, it was impossible to see everything.

It make me think Ubisoft should making single player Pirate of the Caribbean game, they could just adapt the movie trilogy or maybe make story about young Jack, with combat and Naval battle similar to AC black flag... It would be so awesome

I just want to start the game and have a great warship and go into battle but you have to build one which takes ages . I don't know if skull n bones has multilplayer with choice of warships?

Dont forget to charge 60 quid for the plesure of pressing X to board ships and then charge 20 quid every 3 months for a battle pass u cant earn ingame that gives gameplay effecting things.
The cannonballs in black flag look rediculously big.
I think things like details and physics can improve with time, but my problem with skull and bones is the loading screen when boarding and the looting system is just a minigame, 2 issues that black flag did not have
Dont forget the nvidia smoke physics on the pc. it just cranks the visuals of ship battles way high.
It’s been a decade waiting I’m going to play the game and judge it my self.
In Black Flag, it feels like you're steering an actual ship. In Skulls and Bones, it feels like you're moving around a toy. Not to mention, in Black Flag, big waves and storms can actually sink your ship if you're not careful.
To this day I will from time to time hop back aboard the Jackdaw for some high seas swashbuckling! The ship combat is the goat.

Skull and Bones looks like a game from 2003 and Black Flag like a game from 2023.

Skull and Bones (SAB) was a good thought, and I get the ambition, but they should have left it as that. A good thought. SAB is inside of Black Flag (BF), but BF is not inside of SAB. That being said, we get more bang for our buck with BF. Maybe they should have done what most developers are doing these days and redefine BF into a definitive version of the game and voila.

Кто то воду качал кто то боезапас носил кто то на мачте смотрел куда плыть, в то время как капитан за штурвалом дает указания по типу, "заряжать ядра, картечь, крюки, на абордаж, на таран, скидывать бочки, ремонтировать корабль. В игре была реализация голосового чата, но так же была и реализация колесом чата, что очень удобно, при этом все что необходимо - находилось в нем. Очень крутая игра в которой не только корабельные сражения но и штурмы фортов были ( там ваще адище творилось из за большого количества человек "около 100".
I liked the dlc where you play as your first mate Adewale. Instead of sea shanty’s you sing tribal songs. The story is underrated and the trailer hit hard
Maybe the graphics were downgraded on Skull and Bones for the multiplayer.

The entire point of a pirate game is to make you feel like a pirate and Ubisoft went and removed the BIGGEST part of being a pirate.
Boarding and looting the enemy ship
Given the conflicting content videos shown prior I have no idea what actual gameplay for skull and bones will be. People would have been happy to take Black Flag and expand on it.
Go to island craft resources, go to town, buy ship and cannons, get voyage, sink ships, back to town, upgrade ship cannons, get voyage, repeat until you unlock better ships and resource factory, repeat till your ship gets stronger
Ubisoft really dropped the ball on this game. What a pile of shit. I really hope they decide to do some more work and delay this game further because it is NOT what we wanted. Ubisoft PLEASE listen to the criticism and fix it. Don't pull a Battlefield 2042.
Both games is amazing one single player the other multiplayer. I love that both has different focus make each game unique. Ready for skull and bone for some PvP and world boss battles with friends.
enjoy it while you can. The game will be dead within 6 months, IF it even lasts that long. its slightly better than the day before...lol! Its a boring slog.
Well, let me tell you I bought the game and I enjoy it. If the game isn’t for you don’t need to go all crazy hating it go find the perfect game for you. If fallout 76 hold their community why wouldn’t sku and bone do the same many people wants this game and many enjoy it. Just don’t hate in us because we like it and you don’t. I call that selfish.
The best thing about Skull and Bones is that it pushed players back to Black Flag.

Skull&Bones is a bad joke
As someone who had gotten the chance to play the closed beta, this video doesn't do it much justice. While it is by no means a perfect (decently far from it actually,) game, it is incredibly fun to play. It has exceptional customization, improves the ship battle feeling significantly, removed the incredibly tedious boarding minigame that was far worse than anyone really remembers (for real, go back and play black flags for a while and board every ship you see. It's mind numbing doing that over and over, to the point where I just ignored boarding and went straight for sinking every playthrough). This game is getting an unprecedented amount of hate for very little reason other than the fans of the black flags (who asked for a game focused purely on the ship combat shortly afters its release) were upset that they were making a game focused purely on ship combat after its release.
Seriously, I understand it might not be a game for you, or you might not be interested, but almost everywhere you go, this game is getting nothing but hate and borderline death threats solely because it isn't black flags. Play it or not, but dedicating every fiber of your being to spilling hatred on the internet because there is a game you don't like is a little ridiculous.
As a little closing note, I have nothing against constructive criticism or anything. My personal opinion is this game is fun, I enjoyed almost every moment of the 6 hours I got to play, and I think the bloodrage fueled hatred this game is getting is unwarranted. Of all the negative comments I've seen, almost none of them have been constructive, and have essentially resulted in just "Wow this garbage isn't black flags, I hate it and I hope it fails so this 9 years of wait were for nothing at all, and no one wins. Fuck you Ubisoft." I hope some of you guys give the game the benefit of the doubt, at least if you ever see the game on sale, because you might actually enjoy it if you push back against that hateful spirit. If not, it's not for you, and I was wrong in your case.

As someone who skipped the boarding sequence via sinking most of the time (unless it was to take a high level ship for the fleet) I agree it ground the action to a halt mid battle and got old if you had to do it a bunch. As much as I liked the ship combat, if there wasn't anything to break that up it'd get old too.
Judging from reactions, I don't think people wanted a game that was JUST the ship combat. They wanted the work put in to make AC4 an assassin game into making a pirate game. Which stil would have included stuff like going ashore, raiding forts, finding treasure, whaling, diving at wrecks. walking about the ship, and sword/gun combat. Maybe less tailing and stealth, more plundering and smuggling.
This looks like the equivalent of making a GTA game where you never leave your car.
This game is a copy of Sea of Thieves only the ship and sea battles with Black Flag are not even close to the quality level of GTA@@ussliberty109
