I just replaced rotors/hub/bearing on a 1997 Honda Accord with captive rotor set up. What a p.i.t.a. but got job done. Now trying to replace both transmission shift solenoids but it cost average of &600.00 for decent named brand parts. It feels like the car gets slammed in the back by a bus doing 30mph every time gears switch. Yes, I drain & refilled 3 times using Honda DSW atf. I should of got a 98 Toyota Camry because they are so simple to work on compared to 90's Honda... Nice video !
Thank you I appreciate it! Try looking on rockauto.com for your solenoids they have name brand parts and they always have great prices
Nice video. Very clear.
Thank you!
Very good video thank you so much
Thank you this video was very helpful....
Thanks for the video dude. At least now I know I don't have the proper tools. Two questions though....1) why not remove the caliper from the bracket first for easier access because it's only two more bolts? 2) why put those stupid rotor retention screws back? The wheel will hold the rotor in place as soon as you put it back on the hub and tighten it down. I swear, I curse every time I run into those stupid things. They serve no purpose whatsoever that I can see except keeping the rotor in line with the Hub while you put the brake caliper back. That will self-correct as soon as you put the wheel back on and tighten it down to the hub....
It just preference.. with the right tool the retention screws come out no problem
Great video bro
Nice video! Is this 3.0L V6 Honda Accord? I wonder if this 512179 Moog bearing fits my 1998-2002 V6 Accord
Yea its a 3.0 V6. The bearing should fit.. i looked up the part # and it says its for a 98-02 Accord
@@RICHY6 Thanks, friend! Your reply helped a lot some Honda owner 11K Kms away from the US. Much appreciation!
@@Bekov_Kairat You're welcome, glad i can help
So does it matter whether it's a 4 or 6 cylinder 98-02 Accord?
@@dqueen71 yes
Hi, i have a 2000 accord, and i'm suspecting that the rear right bearing has gone bad, so i wanted to ask you how did you know you needed to change the bearing ? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
When bearings go bad you can spin the hub and see if its smooth which is good, if making a noise and stops after a few spins the. Your bearings are bad. Had this issue myself
When the bearing goes bad you can usually hear a humming/ wobble noise. It gets louder with increased speed especially on the highway
@@RICHY6 like whistling sound?
Hello I have a 1998 Honda accord torneo cf4 manage to take off all most everything but when I went to take off the wheel hub one of the piece stayed on n looks to be on good how could I take it off
You can try to pry it off and if that doesnt work you might need to cut it with a grinder
How much for one of four wheels cost with parts?
What sizes socket for the axle nut ?
Its either 32mm or 36mm i don’t remember which one haha
32mm
same as 1” 1-4
that 5 lug hub, is that a direct conversion from the 4 lug? I mean can I use that to convert my '00 accord to 5 lug? thanks
I dont think its a direct conversion. I believe the calipers and rotors might be bigger on the 5 lug accords. Try to measure them on your car and compare with a 5 lug accord at the junkyard. Thats what i would do haha. Maybe they are the same and all you have to do is change the bearings and the hubs.
@@RICHY6 Thanks! I'll do that
What size is the axle nut
Should be a 36mm
What’s the zise of the cube he used
Do I need after any break adjustment or hand break adjustment?
No it shouldnt need to be adjusted
No it shouldnt need to be adjusted
Hey I'm about to do this job, could you tell me what size the socket is please?
Its a 36mm socket
@@RICHY6 Awesome!😎 Thank You So Much! Really good video, clear, to the point, and shows step by step what to do!👍
@@shamanbaray6327 Thank you🙏🏽 Glad i can help!
Good video 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you I appreciate it!
Could these rear bearings be repacked?
I dont believe so
Thank yooy
Yessir you’re welcome
This is the V6 model.... but similar to the 4 cylinder
What about the bearing geease
where are the parking brake shoes??
The e-brake is built into the rear caliper and uses the regular brake pads.
Wat about the bearing grease
The hub/bearing comes ready to go no need for additional grease. The inner side of the bearing doesn't need grease because it stays stationary on the shaft
This might be an 03 accord? Pretty sure the rear brakes were shoes up until 03. My 01 is a completely different job than this.
Nope, V6 models have disc brakes. I have an 01 Coupe V6.
Some ex's even 4 bangers have discs. The base models have drums.
My 02 is disc set up also
@@MrAdambeltran I got scammed 🤦🏻♂️
@@tommcbride6610 My 98 EX Sedan has rear discs.
What size is the axle nut
36 mm probably
36mm
