Didn't have space to name all 200 plus persona in the description, so it's going by arcana haha. Took a while to get all the compendium complete but the deed is done. Recording was a pain too but I think it turned out really nicely. Not sure what video to make next for Persona 5 Royal. So let me know what you want to see! Enjoy guys. :)

You know what I just noticed about the main casts’ personas. Their first persona is based off an icon/legend from history and folklore. 2nd is based off a god/goddess of mythology. And 3rd is the 1st persona but with a more modern look. Great job on 100%! Gonna try myself in ng+ run on royal soon!

It's so badass that most of the Personas are gods or mythical beings, yet Yoshitsune, arguably the best non dlc persona in the game, is a historical figure. A human being like us. How cool is that?
While Johanna and Goemon are debatable. I'm pretty sure captian William Kidd did actually exist.

It's hard to believe that many Personas in this Persona Dex are based of real life legends and myths.

They're Archetypes in mythology and history pretty much living symbols themselves which is why they became Persona's this stories helped shaped the world in both fiction and reality
It all is based on what factor one has over the other.
The idea behind it is that gods, goddesses, demons, spirits, angels, etc. are born from the human mind, and no matter where you are in the world you can find cultures that have created those beings. They all exist in some form or another in the collective unconscious
Many? Almost all of them are. They originated as demons from the Shin Megami Tensei series, in which part of the whole point was that they were based on characters archetypes from human mythology, literature, religion, history, cryptids, urban legends, and so forth,
I was actually expecting the new arcanas to be based on sword, coin, cup and baton so they could follow the tarot card thing
Yeah, especially disappointing considering 5 and 5 royal are the first of the "modern" persona games not to include the minor arcana in any way, since 3, 3P, 3FES, 4, and 4G all used them in their Shuffle Times

Leif Ruby It’s most likely ‘cause outside of Akechi’s 3rd awakening, the scenes where the 3rd awakenings happen aren’t voiced. Unlike in the 2nd awakenings, which’re voiced since every rank 10 confidant is voiced.

It's more of a recurring style. Cerberus is one of the first demons in the entire MegaTen franchise, his first appearance is all the way back on the first book before it was adapted into a game, his design (for the most part) always had one head because he was depicted having one head in the book. Yet, all redesigns of him (SH, DDS, P3) have three heads.
Maybe a translation mistake because in Japanese folclore there is a infernal Dog called Marchosias... Is simar to Cerbero but he don't got 3 head... And he got wings... And lots of other caninebeasts... Like Shisa! Okami! Inugami and Raiju
@@marcelosandoval4206 its not a mistranslation. Its a deliberate design choice since the first megami tensei novel in the 80s. In lore, Atlus waved it as Cerberus being strong he can mask his three heads into just one. His brother, Orthrus isnt as strong so had to let his 2 head in the open.

You have the timestamp for the Tower Arcana mislabeled, may want to fix that. Edit: Same thing with the Sun Arcana. Actually, just check all of the timestamps and see if they go to where they're supposed to.
I'm surprised by how many personas are essentially just palette swaps. Or light variations.
I always hear about the combat, dungeons, story, social links/confidants, but I almost never here about the personas themselves, and how many different beliefs and cultures the represent.

I always wondered why kasumi 2nd persona was vanadis hopefully there is a connection to her story and and vanadis in norse myths
It's the whole 'pretending to be someone you're not' thing. Freyja used the name 'Vanadis' as an alias when she went to visit Asgard in disguise. She demonstrated her powerful magic and ability to control and alter the fates of others, which impressed the Aesir. But eventually, they grew bored of it. They impaled her and burned her, but she came back each time. After the third time, she had enough and revealed her true identity.

Got 97% on vanilla. I was able get Odin accidentally, but it became way too frustrating
to get rest of them by trial and error. After watching this I think the ones Im missing are

I been playing this when persona first came out and I still don't know all personas u can get.but my question is does someone actually know all the names and weaknesses of the personas?
If there are people out there who knows every name and weaknesses of every single pokemon then I believe it is possible
@@Ice-Bear i mean, yeah, but it's a different deal with pokemon. In pokemon, each pokemon has 1 or 2 types, and each type has a specific, unchanging set of weaknesses, resistances and in some cases, immunities. Since there only are 18 types, you'd just have to remember 18 sets of weaknesses, be able to recognize/remember what type the pokemon has (which is pretty obvious in many cases) and be able to combine weaknesses/resistances in case the pokemon is a dual-type. For example, the water type is weak to grass - that's just a fact. However, if the water type has a second type that normally resists grass, the weakness is cancelled out, leaving grass attacks to deal normal damage.
In persona, however, not only is it not really obvious from a glance what arcana a persona belongs to (unless you have a good amount of experience), but that doesn't even matter, as each persona has a unique set of weaknesses, resistances, repels and immunities. For example, while both belonging to the fool arcana, arsene and black frost have different weaknesses etc. This makes remembering all persona weaknesses a lot tougher than remembering pokemon weaknesses.

Um this is late and may sound stupid, but did you max their respective Confidants? Remember the highest level Persona of each Arcana can't be obtained without the max Confidant. And also some specific ones require specific fusions which may trip up players, though I don't think Lakshmi or Attis are unique fusions.

I can't understand why there isn't a guide on how to get these. Still haven't found the Arcana sun, or how to even make one yet? Also no guide on how to answer there questions to add them would be amazing, but no luck. Nice video, but not really that helpful though.
there are tons of websites that show persona fusions. I did a guide on confidants for persona 5 back in 2017. check that playlist. there are only 2 new confidants which you can find answers for in the wikis that are littered throughout google. It's not that I couldn't do it, but I made a walkthrough for royal. 160+ hours of footage that I had to edit and make into 64 parts. Took a while. I was tired after

You'll need to have the pre requisite personas. And also have the strength arcana maxed if possible

I played this game JUST after watching JoJo's bizarre adventure. ITS SO SIMILAR. WITH THE TORO CARD, PERSONAS AND EVERYTHING.
It's simular with that its based on the same principal, which is Jongan psychology. The whole sea of unconscious and all that. But, correct me if I'm wrong, jojos doesn't explain what a stand is exactly, which persona does.
Also stands arnt based real life demons and God's and all that.
@@phantomnite Your definitely right! Persona is more in depth while JoJo is a bit more...well BIZZARE. However the similarities are undoubtedly noticeable. Personas are made from a persons rebellious will (I think) while Stands are the source of a person life energy or often referred to as an "evil spirit" which some of the personas referred in this game are demons and shadows with their own unique attribute. I don't know which one I like best though. CANT DECIDE! 😅
@@Shay-zs3xr a persona is a manafastion of a person's true self. Yes some of the personas are based on demons and they do come out of shadows (in this game) persona is only simular to JoJos in concept. It's so annoying when people make meaningless connections between the two that arnt there
I always found it funny how Persona plots always seem to have some sort of similarity to a Jojo Season. Like Part 2 has hitler in it and Season 2 had Mecha Nazi lol. Part 3 introduced Personas and season 3 introduced stands. Season 4 had to do with a serial killer and a group of kids finding the murder, same thing in Persona 4. And persona 5 joker is a "criminal" and Season 5 had to do with a Mafia. Really makes me wonder if Persona 6 will have anything in common with Stone Ocean. xD

Dont worry. Jojo fans dont usually bleed through the persona series surprisingly enough. Persona fans do however bleed through jojo alot of times. Just isnt as annoying or prominant
