UBOAT is a new Submarine Simulator that just Surfaced out of early access. It is a survival sandbox with crew management mechanics while its primary theme is life of German sailors. The boat is their home, but it can become their grave at any time.
In UBOAT you control the crew in order to control the boat. You look after their physical and mental health, because if the sailors are hungry, tired and their spirit is low, there’s no chance of winning even a skirmish.
Wow two capital ships sunk! The Brits were a little over confident leaving them unprotected like that. Churchill probably swallowed his cigar whole when he got the news. Heads will roll for sure! Now if you can only manage to escape to add insult to the injury. Great story telling!
I just accepted this mission in my career, set out from harbor, saved and then quit the game to open UA-cam and look who just posted. Looks like I am gonna take some notes and make a plan while learning from the best.

How'd it go?
I sunk both on the Scapa Flow mission got caught up on the sub net and 6 destroyers started hunting me and two planes. Had to sit on the bottom for 12 hours.
What a cliffhanger. Given your war record and the capabilities of your crew it amazes me that BDU does not break protocol and just give you a type 7. They are wasting a key resource. Imagine what you could do on a longer patrol.
It's a game - he can just get the Type VII
Maybe they think if it ain't broke, don't fix it? :)
He's been talking about whether to start a new campaign with more mods, probably why he's using the Type II, to see how long the Brits let him get away with it lol
Government and waste seems pretty synonymous here lol.
Imagine beeing the news deliverer to Churchill: "My Lord, there has been another german sub raid at Scapa Flow and we lost two capital... oooh" and just getting force choked Vader style by Churchill.
That's how I imagine this conversation 😂
The nice thing about the Nelson class is that it's _really_ easy to ID. You're not going to confuse a Nelson's silhouette for anything else anytime soon :D.
before the release scapa flow mission had a lot of ships coming for you , now only a destroyer, they should buff the response and the defense. Two capital ships require at least a moderate escort.
yeah i remember trying this mission and there was maybe 10 other ships just as defence
I mean they thought scapa flow was compleaty safe with the net and the mines. they would probably get more destroyers when they left port.

Besides the usual FX in games like this when a ship gets torped, I'm really enjoying the sky glow on the horizon where the battlewagon and carrier are burning. What a sight that would be in a real-life scenario.

Is the abbreviation of the German name for the naval command, I don't know what it translates to, but is basically the headquarters for the navy

@@Kaiser_Kenny that's been the standout thing for me too! I'm constantly in awe of the water graphics and physics in this game, Ive even occasionally had to ask myself "wait, is this real footage or gameplay" (usually at night when I'm a bit tired haha 😅) because the water honestly looks perfectly realistic at times!
I also think the water in the new Naval Warfare game (one that Wolfpack has been playing recently) impeccable too, subtle differences between the two games in terms of the water, like N.W has some really outstanding underwater visuals as well as super realistic physics, but both games are mind blowing!
I remember trying to get out of Scapa Flow being nightmare fuel - nets and mines everywhere, as well as destroyers relentlessly pursuing. Disappointed the vid ended where it did - the best part will be him trying to escape 😆

Managed to do this mission on 100% realism.
To add insult to injury, I managed to give potatoes to every lifeboat from the carrier. There was 16 of them or more, the list of lifeboats was so long in the "Wreckage" screen I couldn't see them all and it didn't scroll down. Understandable though if the devs didn't take into consideration someone might actually do that, heh.
Just learned a funny fact that most British sloops were regulated and mysteriously that was removed during wartime amazing the guys in the engine room could increase the speed that way almost like it was sneakily planned to get around the treaty 😂
Love your gameplay and the way you edit the videos to make it feel kinda personal for the viewer. Keep up the good work from Down Under 🇦🇺

Oh my! HMS Nelson was later involved in hunting the Bismarck and so was the Aircraft Carrier as well! I think that you have just altered history! Sinking these two is a big change in established history! You'll be getting a type 7 U Boat after this - if the two Destroyers Echo and Pegasus don't catch up with you first!

They'd probably be very grateful to get exotic fruit at all. In real life, it was an extremely rare commodity to see in the shops, if at all during the war-time rationing period.

Excellet work, Herr Kaleun! 👍When I was doing this mission, I did a capital mistake using one of my torpedoes on merchant met on the way and because of some kind of bug I had to use all remaining eels on Royal Oak only - it happened to me also in older version, some time before: if the ship sits in shallow waters, it does not count as confirmed kill sometimes, even if you see it mostly under water or tipped on the side in the water, both sure kills. 😥
Quick question - guess you are on full release version, do your achievements work when you are using these mods...?

Well I guess it would help to have a engineer but any decent sailor with some knowledge of ships should know what things to open to flood most ships

Can you remove the deck gun on these like you can with the VII for a bit more underwater speed?
The crew of a moored ship is INACTIVE, without proper damage control, it is easier to sink it compared to a sailing one.
