Great professional instructions coming from a person who actually can play and execute these techniques and shots. Please incorporate a ball machine into your teaching toolbox...Therefore allowing you to demonstrate more realistic hits, versus a hand dropped/fed ball. You're the man. 💥💪🎾
@@tenfitmentennisimpulseI think Volley is similar to slice. For On my backhand slice I use a slightly different grip than what I would use for my forehand slice, I think slice is simliar to the volley. So I probably use a similar grip as your backhand volley. I learnt from one of the American Coaches called Jeff on how to remove all the problem of floating slices that fall short and sit up and turn the weak floaty slice into a big low flat skimming drive. When you can skim the slice low over the netcord flat with pace skidding low through the court it can causes all sorts of issues for opponents feet who are used to the normal bounces of the ball falling shorter and higher, but with the flat skimming slice it will go right up into their feet and start to tangle the ball up around their legs as well. So its sends the ball more extra deep.
all good tips from a real professional. Very good service to the average tennis player to get some key points. Biggest problem for beginners is too big of a swing...trying to hit with the arm and not using the legs....that's the only thing I would add...use the legs.James
My gosh... Finally found someone who teaches the old school volley technique. Getting your body low instead of lowering the racquet. I searched the whole youtube for someone who still teaches/uses this method. Thank you!! Federer's lazy volley technique caused millions of youngsters to believe that's how they should all volley. totally insane & equally sad.
A great way to start teaching ppl the compactness of the volley is by simply placing a ball in their armpit. It will limit the swing and make the feel super controlled. Hope you try it if you didn’t try it already :). MILLLLANNNEEE
Milan im going to try the backhand grip, i always found to have very little stability in the backhand, the new grip is just like bring more the thumb yeah?
Yes just tweak a bit the “trigger finger” and get more support with that thumb, you still essentially keep the “hammer” grip. Hope it works out for you!
When you switch to your suggested BH volley grip, on which bevel does the heel of the hitting hand end up? The knuckle of the index finger remains on bevel 2. Does the heel end up on bevel 1 or 2? For the regular slice BH, do recommend this new BH volley grip or the old regular hammer grip?
Awesome tips Milan! Who would you say are the best volley-hitters of all time in the men's game and women's game? I think John McEnroe and Tim Henman, and Martina Navratilova.
Switching the grip on volleys is hard, the backhand grip you show really does work I find, can you use that for the forehand volley too? Thanks for your great content Milan!
Hi...that BH grip change is interesting and does feel more stable...the thumb moves from touching middle finger to angling up towards index finger a little? Couldn't quite see the BH grip on video but feels pretty solid...gonna try it out tomorrow...thanks
Very interesting. What do you think about the no-dominant hand in the forehand volley? I suggest my students to keep close to the dominant. Do you agree?
Hey Milan , thank you so much for this video . All of your videos are great and I love your passion. Just one question in regards to the grip , can you use this same idea on ground strokes ? Ie forehand get stability from the index knuckle , backhand with thumb ? My grip on ground strokes never feels right and stable . Thanks again
The tip on the backhand grip is really interesting! I tried it today in practice and it works very well. I'll have to see if I can make it work in matches. Do you recommend using this grip for backhand slices as well, or do you just recommend the normal hammer grip?
Milan, since I hit most of my volleys as a backhand, would there be any disadvantage to my forehand volley if I simply stay in the new backhand grip for both backhand and forehand sides, so that I never get caught in the middle of a grip change by a blistering passing shot attempt?
Hey Jack, great question. What I would recommend is to be more ready to hit backhand volleys (and have that grip prepared), since you can cover a lot more space with backhand (including body shots) than forehand . However, if the ball comes aways from you to your forehand side you should get the regular hammer grip for that volley. It takes some time to train this and get used to it. Have fun and good luck!
Best volley tips! $1000 lesson! Very nice! Appreciate it.
Thanks so much Eric, means so much! Hope you upgrade your volleys with these tips!
Split step backwards!! 👍👍👍I saw it often in pro games, but none of the coaches taught us that!
Great example of footwork when you can't really split forward. Feet back, weight forward. I definitely need to practice that!
I like "eye level hitting" tip on volleys !
Game changer for me!
Backhand volley tip is amazing! I tired and it works!
took me decades to figure this out… if only had this video when I was a kid. great vid, thx!
Glad someone is pointing out that many top pros DO get a slight grip change in on the volley.
By all means the thumb change for the backhand grip is a huge tip thks a lot !
I really appreciate the camera changes you did here, just to avoid the sun and see details better. :)
Your lesson is very very simple and clear no usless wording

Thanks for kind words and for great suggestion. Well noted!
The backhand grip change is something new to me. No wonder my backhand volley always feels awkward.
Yes, game changer for me. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Great tip on the backhand volley
Thanks again…
I wish I found you earlier. You are the Best.
Excellent explanation and demonstration
I noticed that I do that same backhand grip adjustment that you do when I volley! It really does help keep things more stable
Thanks Milan, these are really great tips! As an attacking player I think these will be very valuable for me and make me feel more at ease at the net!
Yes! It’s all about making your volleys rock solid so you can feel like at home when you come to the net!

Thanks Milan, we like all of your videos!
Really good stuff Milan! How about some serve volley tips too
The bonus makes the video more imteresting keeps us stay tuned.
Thanks, glad you liked it. Hope it helps!
@@tenfitmentennisimpulse l shared this video to all my tennis friends that the back hand grip is THE SECRET & I mentioned NOT TO TELL ANYONE..😅🤣

Loved the tip on the change of grip on the backhand volley, can't wait to try it. Thanks!
Beautiful explanation. Loved the way you taught the method.👍
Superb tips on the volley and easy to adopt. Thank you
Excellent breakdown of form and technique.
Best 4 tips
Milan so glad you know what you are talking about unlike many--keep it up!
Great tips, especially about moving forward and resetting if possible…
Really nice video with tips never heard before, especially the backhand grip.
Cool insights not talked much about elsewhere. Many thanks for your work and dedication!
Again, very good & helpful tips! Thank you.
Fully enjoyed ❤
So good!! Thank u!! & that back hand volley tip is helpful!! Gonna try it!! 👍🎾

Fantastic lesson.
Excellent instruction per usual!
massive - thank you :)
Is it necessary or good practice to chop down or slice every volley a little (give it some backspin)? I notice most people do that..
Great stuff! Thanks!
Excellent!
Great content as always
Great content as always! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

regarding your useful tip for backhand volley, may I apply it to the backhand slice?
5:40 I've noticed Nadal does this too. If you watch highlights of him at net (relatively few, I know) he chokes up on the handle like that.
Crystal clear instruction 👍

Yes, very interesting. You described it in a good way. Go out there and kill some BH volleys. Let us know how it goes!
Sir how to play low balls on volley.. specially at foot ankle level both on forehand and backhand
Very interesting. What do you think about the no-dominant hand in the forehand volley? I suggest my students to keep close to the dominant. Do you agree?
Yes sure, it should help for the body turn but then as you swing forward should separate (similar to forehand).

What racket and string do you use?
Great job man , but honestly didn't completely understand the backhand grip

Do you use blade v7 18 20?
What is the racquet weight?
Bam!
instead of a split step in I have seen people just bounce feet quickly as they have limited time to begin with.
Still confused on the grip of backhand volley
Where are you living? I would like to visit you to learn some tennis lesson from you someday.
someone is doing homework next to the camera!
Need a helper, man, to help demo.
True! :)
In my tight schedule, I was happy to get this little "window" of time and make this video by myself. Hope it still helps!
But it is all about tips not production ! Keep on Milan, you are doing GREAT ✊💪🇷🇸
Ball machine solves that problem no?...😇🎾💥
