Nice to come across your UA-cam channel. I'm an Australian 64 yrs and have only embraced my curls for the past couple of years. I let my hair go grey which took a few years and is totally natural now and is just below my shoulders. I get so many women randomly coming up to me in shops etc and telling me they love my hair....which is so lovely to hear, without sounding vain. I just wish it didn't take me a life time to get here, as I have always tried to manipulate my hair into something it was not supposed to be. From frizz to voila it looks the best it has ever been.
4 years of being natural. Spent 100’s of dollars on products, lots of tears and frustration but so happy with 3b/3c curl pattern. Totally agree. It’s takes a longgggggg time to work out what works for you. But don’t give up!!
quarantine in victoria has made me decide to embrace my curls too! i'm worried about looking unprofessional/crazy when we go back to normal life... you can never tell how your curls will turn out every day! i'm determined to keep it up tho, they make me feel more ME
Try smasters technique. I have thin, frizzy, low density hair and works wonders for me. When my hair is 50% dry and starts to frizz I wet my hands and put a little of anything that I want this time. Gel for hold, cream for more Ringlets. My hair becomes more curly this way. Wet styling prevents frizz, but when my hair is wet is more heavy and less curly. By reapplying on dump hair a little product I have more than definition
I was waiting for the magic cut! How did you cut it? What should I ask for? (My hair is very fine and thin, and wavy rather than curly. It curls quite well when it wants to, but I don't know how to make that consistent.)
omg, i love my curls! as naturally curly myself, i found the very FIRST thing to do is get a hair cut, for the curls (nime has always been layered)curly hair HAS to be cut a certain way, it's where the frizzies and unruly hair really shows if it isn't. ask your hairdresser. if she doesn't know how to cut the curl, find someone else. you can look up "pineapple method" for plopping? that's the term i've heard before.
I love the Aveda Be Curly, its such a great product. I have been thinking about doing the curly girl method for a while and I think im actually going to do it now.
Oh I LOVE this!! You are first very beautiful. Second, it looks like we have the same hair (curly, wavy, thin, fine) and you explain it really well. The result is amazing. I am starting this week. Can't wait.
Do you have fine hair? I know it may seem unconventional but I"m a guy with hair about your length and the first thing I noticed was how the before photos look almost exactly how mine looks. I know my hair has curl to it and I'm trying to embrace is by looking through video's like yours. The frizz, and honestly I just think I don't have the kind of cut I need for it, it causing some problems. It's definitely been a learning experience. I'm definitely trying that conditioner in a bowl trick
Thanks for the tips! I’m very new to this-have thick, course, wavy hair. Should you ever comb/detangle curly hair? How do you get rid of the strands of hair that would normally be removed by brushing? Thanks for your help
Okay so I watched several of your attempts to get the frizz out. So I'm a little confused as to the process now, because at the very end you said that you didn't wash your hair and then proceeded with the other methods so now I'm not really sure what the steps are. I do know that I've used Aveda products and they are excellent
wait, what did I miss, you went from wash 5, which left you with undefined and frizzy curls, just as all 4 previous washes, to a segment, that says "after 2+ washes and hair cut", with perfect curls..... mmm, how did that happen? did you change products? because it was obvious the ones you were using weren't doing anything for your curls...
Your gorgeous, please appreciate it. My mom use to tell me "your going to get older one day", which is fine. Sigh. You will miss your beautiful skin, and thick hair the most . I loved #3, but mostly, I loved the baby in the background.
No one talking about what products to use for chemo curls which have so much frizz. So trying to use some of these but it would help if what to do to reduce frizz especially products after shampoo and conditioner as no shampoo or conditioner seems to have made any difference
The time to embrace your natural hair is here! 🙌 What's your experience with curly hair?

I am in the U.K. and the same as you, I still get the odd frizz especially with our weather but I am getting there.
I’m 68, and have always blow dried my hair straight. Found out 2 weeks ago about my natural curl. It’s AMAZING! Just like magic!
SHES AUSTRALIAN!!!!! finally someone who's gonna recommend products I'll actually have access too

where did you find your curl pattern quiz?
I love to know how to find my numbers as well
The T-shirt method is amazing. It picks up the drips well without overly drying the hair.
Love this! I have started to experiment with embracing my very wavy hair and appreciated the trial and error shown here.

I’m having the best success with LUS system ( a Canadian product) and I put a filtered shower head in my shower ($20 Amazon) good luck!
I tried the conditioner in the bowl trick and it made a huge difference today! I knew about it previously, but thank you for reminding me!

I dont know why this showed up but, I'm in love.
You got great curls, and you are just starting. Thanks for sharing.

Agree. Not keen on any of their other products, but Be Curly is the best.
I wish we had more details on the haircut!
Your hair is looking amazing!!
I really like the end result! Thank you and looking forward to trying it out.

Loved watching the process, great little hits, need more of this as we can’t get to hairdressers..👏🏼😳👍😊
My best tip - do a final rinse with distilled water before you add curl products.

Using the diffuser makes my hair frizzy as hell !
Works better just air dry

The end up is gorgeous!
Omg your pillowcase with the bull clip 😲 I've been struggling with headscarves and actually using the pillowslips!! 🤯
You hair looks gorgeous! I have ordered a copy of the book and will be researching which Australian hair products are CG approved.

Do you have more videos like this ?? I definitely need some extra help with my curly/wavy hair.
We do have a few curly videos! Linked below. But we also plan to make more curly advice videos in the future so stay tuned

Is your hair layered, or is it all one length?
Approximately how long is this method taking?
Looks great! Btw you can buy dedicated silk hair wraps/turbans instead of using the pillowcase 🤣
Beautiful hair!

33?? Wow. I thought I was watching a 20 something year old person. You look amazing ❤
I had that problem with it being frisky on my 1 trie
I love your hair!!! It looks great!

Maybe hair oils? There’s a brand called curlsmith that has a smoothing oil people like. Or olaplex has anti frizz stuff
With your method u do not rinse out the conditioner?after shampoo....
idk about their method but id rince it out and then add leave in c
Rinse out cond shud be rinse out bcoz its ph is different from leave in cond
Hi
Try changing the products.
You dont even state what the method is ....... Is it not using shampoo basically ? Then putting about 4 potions on top of the hair ?
Ver pretty at the end.
I keep trying to scroll up because you cropped the top of your head
Ok so you used several products. That’s a lot.
End result. Get better haircut.
