- Here you go folks - Straight from the launchpad onto the streets of Kuala Lumpur and up our favorite mountain all in one day to share our driving experience of the New 2023 Lexus RX350 D-Segment SUV.
You get a 2.4 liter 4-Cylinder Turbocharged DOHC Gasoline engine with dual VVTi and dual port and direct injection for the best of both worlds, yielding a total of 279 PS and 430Nm of torque. Drive is to all wheels through an 'on demand' AWD system and an 8-speed automatic transmission, with 3 Driving Modes
20-inch wheels are standard, and the RX350 comes with the full complement of Lexus Safety System (LSS); this includes AHS, DRCC (Dynamic Radar Cruise Control), which includes stop and go, and Safe Exit Assist, plus Lane Departure Warning and Lane Tracing, and of course the PCS (Pre-Collision System.
There is only one variant available, namely 'Luxury' and the retail price OTR without insurance is RM468, 888.

Probably in the next few years or so, they aren't immediately jumping on the Bandwagon of Turbocharged Cars/SUVs/Pickup Trucks like some of many other Manufacturers did in the last few years

GLS, GLE and GLC (sold in Australia) are Made in USA and they are notorious for breaking down even within the 3 year warranty period. I would stay away from these German (so called) luxury vehicles
Most importantly, the Lexus is CBU Japan. Built quality of Made in Japan Lexus/Toyota is second to none
You're right. I'm M'sian American Lexus Toyota rule the roost here in the US top notch quality and reliability by Consumer Reports and JD Power & Associates. Now of course Tesla is threatening. But you can't match Lexus and Toyota. Owners of these brands are looked upon as being highly intelligent, responsible and trustworthy.
For such a beautiful car, the engine bay looks like my storeroom.
Those engine covers on German sedans are notorious for causing plastic parts to go brittle and ultimately leaks coolant and oil.

Miles ahead of GLE and X5. Some more Lexus you can buy and drive for 10 years no issue. With conti after 5 year, everything break down lel. Make sure you have car towing friend if drive conti over 5 years.
Mercedes reliability is really worst compare to BMW and Lexus. Besides, GLE already definitely lose to X5 and Lexus RX350 in terms of everything, even Lexus RX also much better than Mercedes GLC300 CBU, both cars have no much different prices but Lexus RX350 is also more reliable, also wins everything in terms of safety, technology, comfort and design compare to Mercedes GLC300
Understood that conti cars are always unreliable as japanese luxury cars. But BMW reliability is improving and almost par as Lexus. Even Audi reliability is improving better and almost reaching at Lexus Level too. But of course, Mercedes wasn’t and placed at the least position
reliability, yes. But not sure if it can match the x5 in terms of handling. A two plus tonner x5 can feel very light on its feet hehe.
Both BMW X5 and Lexus RX are reliable cars. Based on specs, features and technology, both BMW X5 and Lexus RX are also not much difference since both are good but different designs but looking good. Anyways….
If you want comfort, get Lexus RX
If you want performance and handling, can consider X5

The previous RX300 had 238 PS. The RX350 in this video is 279 PS

How was the drive as compare with Mazda CX8 2.5T ? Which car handling is better ?
This RX is not so much about power, but about luxury and quietness and comfort, and lifestyle, but it does have an 8 speed transmission, and 279 PS, and 430Nm of torque.
I guess Mazda CX-8 2.5T power and handling wise is comparable to RX350. Hence Mazda CX-8 2.5T is really a value buy. If one is seeking for more luxury/ comfort feel, then definitely choose RX350. 😊

Mazda CX8 can’t able to compare with Lexus RX. Both cars have different categories. Yet, CX8 is already dated inside compare to Lexus RX

In the stability and controls department, how is it compared to a Subaru XV?

This is a comfortable vehicle, made for a co.fortable ride at a comfortable pace.

Uncle most people who drove luxury version without fsport says the car tend to be floppy and rolling around a lot more due to softer suspension compare to sportier fsport.
With no fsport for the new rx 2023, do you think the car can take cornering & driving better with fsport suspension or maybe lexus has done tweaks enough to make this luxury version without fsport mountain driving comfortable for speed drivers?
From what I see, 85 percentum of people who buy these vehicles hardly ever go much above tue speed limit, and are going for the luxurious ride and quietness of the vehicle.
All can afford it, so they want the top spec.
Maybe one or two will drive it aggressively, so who cares?

Its based on TNGA-K platform. RM468K is a way better buy than the X5 which have a tendency to break down all the time
Depends on your taste. Yes agree that Lexus RX is good choice but X5 also another better choice and also reliability also improving than before while GLE is one of the worst reliability as you mentioned but too expensive than X5 and Lexus RX
Depends on whether you can maintain a German fully at the SC or your local " I know someone who can do it cheaper " workshop.
Too bad that Lexus Malaysia is not offering RX500H, RX450H+ PHEV and RX350H which is the most popular variant in AU

Think that in the Asian community, it’s not the numbers that sells. Even mainland Chinese salesman in Australia don’t know the engine power/torque and dimensions of the vehicles by heart
The key point is reliability of many years of trouble free motoring,but in premium fee l the X5is way bettet

If the UX ditch the underpowered NA engine and plonk in a turbo charged power unit then i will consider its cross hatchback. i prefer small hatch back size car...the prev t harrier using this turbo 2.4 but they changed to a NA in the new model, what a waste
previous harrier was using a 2.0 turbo.
If RX do bigger V6 turbo, I think X5 & GLE will left behind far far away !
I think the Lexus appeal is not about power or performance, but of course there must be enough.
There is a variant RX500H not sold in Malaysia. This is the X5 and GLE killer

CX-90 is a 3 row crossover. The equivalent is a the new Toyota Grand Highlander sold in the North America

toyota 8 speed transmission is very slow and jerky compare to mazda's 8 speed automatic transmission. I picked Cx60 over lexus Rx becuase mazda has inline 6 turbo engine with very fast and intelligent 8 speed transmission.
But the price 😭😭😭

No doubt lexus is a good car but too pricey!! Furthermore interior really looks flat and doesn't match the price compare to Mercedes GLC 300 coupe...
GLC300 Coupe and Lexus RX are different segment. Btw, GLC300 Coupe too dated even for new facelift if talking about interior. Even reliability for Mercedes doesn’t match with Lexus.
The comparable segment for the Benz is GLE. In Australia, the GLE is voted one of the most unreliable crossover on the road.
It is too expensive as compared to a BMW X5 which would be a much better value.
But the resale value of the X5 will be much lower
