    I've converted to US measurements for those who asked.
    1 2/3 cups milk
    1 1/2 oz fresh yeast OR 2-3 tsp instant yeast
    3 tablespoons sunflower oil
    1 tablespoon sugar ( 2 or 3 tablespoons is OK if you want it sweeter)
    pinch salt
    2 eggs
    4 2/3 cups flour plus 2/3 cup extra
    NOTES
    Full fat, low fat, fat free milk would all work.
    Instant yeast can simply be mixed with the first quantity of flour. Using more yeast will make it rise faster, but it won't taste as good.
    If you don't want hollow donuts, don't cover the pot.
    It's worth using fresh yeast as this Serbian lady does if you can find it; the taste it gives is quite special.
    Peanut oil is best for deep frying, but canola or vegetable are OK tool
    If it doesn't turn out the first time you try, don't blame the recipe or the poster. Cooking with yeast is an art that requires practice.

    Oh man, I find it hard to believe people can write negative things without having any idea how good these taste! Whoever they are, they don't deserve to taste these krofne. My grandmother (Baka) used to make krofne and the donuts in Australia are very poor substitutes. You can't beat a good yeast fried donut like this. Thanks so much for the recipe!

    Best donut recipe ever!!! I tried so make donuts so many times and there was always something lacking.
    This was the easiest recipe by far, no kneeding required, and simple ingredients. And they came out soft and fluffy and just amazing!
    There is just one thing I changed that I learnt from another channel. That you shouldn't cover the dough with a cloth while its rising. Because it absorbs the moisture from the dough and the donuts get cracks. I covered the donuts with a kitchen cloth for the 2nd proofing. And one side got those cracks. So I will take care not to do that in the future.

    I made these for the first time and they turned out great tasting. I made the mistake of making the dough slightly too hard so they weren't puffy(hollow) but I seem to be the only one complaining. Every one loved them in our house! Thank you so much for sharing this also in english.

    Hello
    I would need clarification:
    1) What type of oil should you put during the dough?
    2) What type of oil should I use for frying?
    3) What is the oil temperature for frying?
    I thank you so much

    • @SabriRodriguez
      @SabriRodriguez 7 років тому +3

      Well what i know, NOT use olive, NOT soy oil or other oils, USE sunflower oil (the common oil).
      For frying use sunflower oil or they will smell and taste so bad.
      The temerature, wait till the oil is boiling and low the heat a bit and you can fry them till golden brown.
      Don't put the doughnuts with the oil cold or they will be oily, nasty yes.

    I don't know if you realize this but the steam from keeping the lid on makes your dough boil

    • @chrisrosenkreuz23
      @chrisrosenkreuz23 5 років тому +1

      After posting the comment I realized the purpose of this. It's probably because if you do not put the lid on, the air pocket doesn't form and the donuts cannot be turned as all of the weight is now at the bottom. Keeping the lid on makes the dough rise to the top thus making it possible to turn them. But that's just my guess
