My favourite road in the homeland the A87 from Invergarry over the hill to Glen Shiel and on to The Kyle of Lochalsh and Portree on The Isle of Skye.
Its an beautiful area to be👍😜
I’ll match that, love this road, did A87 3 times before going back home to east coast
cool I also stopped at that coffee shop at the begining and end of this video and that boat was in the water 😊 Scotland is just a beautiful part of this world 👍👍
Brilliant vid amazing scenery in Scotland
It really was endless👍😜
With such nice weather, there is nowhere better.
It was an utterly breathtaking experience, so much so I forgot how to speak!🤣
I will be there in a couple of weeks. Re tracing my steps from a trip ten years ago. Similar route to this but, over to Harris via skye. Great episode, thank you.
Would have liked to go to Skye, just didn't have the time. Next time👍😜
That was great .
You got such amazing images.
🏴
☀️
💥
Thanks Paul
Some of my fave roads in the UK.
One of my favourite places ever to ride a bike, only been twice, but I’d go every year if I could, scenery is unreal, and roads are 🤩 even in the arsehole of nowhere in the middle of the highlands 😁
I was expecting the roads conditions to be worse from what everyone had being telling me, but was pleasantly surprised!
We are very fortunate to have a beautiful country, Britain, Wales for me every day of the week,
It's just unfortunate that some people abuse the privilege of living in the UK in so many Ways,
Great video lovely scenery 😊
Great video, Shaun Scotland is beautiful 👍🇦🇺
Thanks m8, it really is amazing up there, and if you get the weather the scenery is beautiful!
Proper day's riding, great roads, magnificent scenery and lovely weather. Who could ask for more?
I don't think I could have taken anymore brilliance, I was speechless as it is!
I live in Pitlochry,so going through the way you went there and there abouts is my playground ...never tired of it around here .glad you got the decent weather
Cracking vlog,cracking roads, 👌👌🏍🏍👍👍
As soon as you turned right across the front of the hotel at the start of the vid I knew we were in for a treat. I thought oh no the Aprilla has gone the wrong way. Done that route a couple of times it’s stunning every bend has a jaw dropping view . Look forward to next vid. Thanks Shaun
It's was surprising how vast Scotland actually is, and as you said, the scenery is never-ending👍😜
Cracking vid Shaun... some of my favourite roads 😊 👍
Very good! Things get a bit tighter in the next one, and with much more potholes🤣🤣
just amazing,,love it
Loved loved loved it . All the roads we know . Great viewing.. tnx ..glad found yr channel and subscribed 🤘😊
Know the roads well in all weathers, never tire of the riding, Glencoe can still take my breath away…lovely biking country and I’m 40 minutes from Carter Bar and the border🤣👍🏍
A cracking ride, did that 2 years ago in 30C no smidges whatsoever 👍 Expect to see you have a cuppa at Eileen Donan in the next episode 🤘
I was pleasantly surprised not to have had bugs!
I just wave now
Can’t be arsed nodding
When there’s loads of us coming the opposite way I just hold my hand 🤚 up
So everyone gets a HI 🤣🤣
Or just ignore everyone👍🤣
Loved it, brilliant 😊
On the bucket list 👌
Its a must👍😜
What a beautiful piece of scenery Shaun, its been along time ago i was in Scotland totally fell in love with the place sadly have only ever managed too get there with the car..many times though..its just so peaceful and beautiful.
i found myself getting depressed when i left and made my way south too catch the ferry home...ah one i will go back for sure..
Awesome video too watch Shaun👌 Regards Glenn👍.
It really is an awesome place to spend time, equally so off the bike. I'll be back for sure👍😜
Stunning views!!!!
Really really well filmed and edited vid - thanks 🙏
Thank you👍😃
So much fun... Lucky with the weather...Dont say that mate.. I'm off to Germany myself in 2 weeks... I sure they are happy people.
It's been a tad rubbish here with the weather, but it's said to be better when you come over, where are you heading?
As always with a touring trip, with any vehicle, it's the weather that dictates so much. Not ridden in Scotland but I've tried the Picos twice and abandoned it on both occasions because if the faul weather and headed south towards the sun and warmth.
Down south we tend to tip our heads to the side as that axis is more visible and so requires less movement. I suppose it's the southern accent!! 😁
Agreed! This would have been a fairly miserable trip in the rain, although I've done plenty of that in the Alps, and still enjoyed the challenge. It's all part of the adventure👍😜
Awesome thanks for sharing 🤓😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🍻
Congratulations!!! It's rare that a video even captures a fraction of what Scotland is about but it really came across. Loved it. ❤
13 days until I leave for another visit 😁
I filled so many sd cards to capture as much of it as I could👍😜
The roads and scenery look stunning and the weathers not bad either looking forward to the next vid 👍
I really did have great luck with the weather👍😎
Scotland with the weather looks amazing Shaun, I never even consider it when planning because of the weather. Needs some serious consideration now after watching this. Off to do the RDGA in a couple of weeks on the XR, like a kid waiting for Christmas
I can imagine many have had their trips ruined by worse weather, would be a real shame not to see it in best weather!
peeps in scotland are just nice. even driving was so good. wish England had bit of the northern niceness haha
They really were, breath of fresh air for me!
Instead of nodding, try just tipping your head to the right. Everyone will get the meaning and it’s easier to do.
Lovely views, amazing ride. Glad you finally got to do it
Still makes you feel like a plonker, I'll stick to the wave😜
Here in New England, "USA" the wave is a big thing. I think it's stupid, I just want to enjoy my ride.
@@thelikeablerider8800 but waving like you’re the Queen looks so cool 😜
Not sure I've ever seen the Queen bung up the reverse two finger before🤣🤣
Have to agree with people being a lot friendlier in Scotland. I was there in May and was surprised by how friendly everybody I met was. It is almost uncomfortable if you're not used to it. 😄
Landscape wise the Alps are still my favorite but in terms of the overall experience the trip to Scotland was the best bike trip so far.
The people were a breath of fresh air, much different to where I live!
Would appreciate knowing what roads you are on and a dotted guide as to your route? Glorious scenery. Love Scotland and Yorkshire on two wheels 😊
loved it
I'm glad👍😜
Brilliant,can’t wait for day three.
Great to see you back in the UK. Looks like you picked a hell of a route! Nice story about the roadworkers letting you through-you do find decent people over here. I've been out on the bike a couple of times recently, parked at the side of the road (For a break etc) and other bikers have pulled up to see if i'm ok. Good is that. 👍🏼
I had that very same thing at Loch Lomond when I stopped to change a camera battery, two bikers stopped to ask if I was okay!
@@thelikeablerider8800 Brilliant. Looking forward to the rest of the series....
Awesome, it’s 20 years since I rode this route and your footage brings back some great memories thank you. I now have an excuse to do it once again before I’m over the hill, just acquired an RT 1200 the ideal tool for such an adventure. I look forward too the next episode 👍
It get even more epic, as I'm sure you know👍😜
Utterly stunning weather! It looked awesome when we bowled through in the rain, but for you it really pulled out the stops. Tremendous stuff!
Oh m8 the weather gods were definitely on my side, and it stayed that way for the whole week! 👍😎
In Scotland it best to fill up even if you don’t need to yet, as we got to a petrol station once and it was closed, only just made it to next one.
Normally I would have, but still had plenty and the next one wasn't far away👍😜
@@thelikeablerider8800 I was on 2020 Superduke, and as you know the gauge takes a nose dive on the range under about 80 miles left, going to zero in about 20 miles!😡
Weather and scenery look amazing. I think those roads could be a licence looser for some. Or does your camera flatten and straighten then a bit. Another brilliant day for you 😁👍🏍
Yeah the camera does that for sure, its even better in the flesh. I like to get a lick on, but really didn't feel the need, was took it all in!👍😜
Great video, shots and soundtrack fella. My only complaint is it should have read ‘LOCHS and reservoirs”! 😅
stunning m8
Simply stunning 👏
Some of the best scenery I've seen👍😎
What a great part two, really enjoyed it and the music was spot on.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, riding it was truly breathtaking!
Great views, great Soundtrack, cheers ! ❤👍👍🏍
I feel like the roads in this 'episode' are some of the exact reasons the XR was created :)
Agreed! Not so much in the next Episode😆
I can see you put a lot of effort into making this video nicely done👍 Just one point though from my Scottish wife there lochs not lakes or reservoirs 😁
Yes sorry about that, I knew that would come up🤣 I do correct myself later in the series, so look out for that👍😜
That’s great, living here in Australia I know I have the weather, but when the weather’s good at home , I’d like nothing better than to be riding back in old Blighty some countryside ❤, Keep er lit lad 👊🏼✊🏼
It's nice to do something different, and really enjoyed it👍😜
You nod to the side, that is less effort. I was told that the furtherest between fuel stops on NC500 is 90 miles, and that stays my yard stick for the fuel station question.
It’s not an issue, plenty of community pumps…
Makes me still feel like a plonker doing that, I'll stick with the wave🤣
Nice one. We are just back from the dolomites. Back in gods country at home in Paisley 😎
Views to be seen. Mega !!
Great video Shaun enjoyed it.
PS definitely wave over nod 😉
Cheers dude! Yes I'll be waving from here on in🙌🙌
Great video and although I have lived in the UK all of my life (63 years) I have never really been to Scotland!
I hadn't since my parents retired and moved up there 5/6 years ago. I'd happily move there too!🤣
Great video and great to see a total ignoring of the Crab fly past….😂 Seriously though, brilliant episode 👌🏻
Thanks buddy👍😎
Ridden the bike through Glen Coe so many times but it never gets old so glad the weather was great for you. Great video and photos look forward to the rest of your trip..👍
It was an amazing day's riding, and the hotel and location was spot on👍😎
Brilliant video again, Scotland is amazing and u caught it so well 👍
Wow had to watch it again the videography and music catches the trip so well
It was such an amazing trip, was a long time coming!
Nice one Shaun, the Aprilia sounded better than the planes😄 You were so lucky with the weather
It sounded mega Mike, definitely not legal either🤣🤣
Thank for video. Am planning on a similar route if/when I see a good few day weather in a row. Might end up waiting till September :) glad you had good weather (at least for this part of you trip).
Really was lucky with the weather, just a few hours south seemed like armageddon!
*Some good ride out days you can feel like a nodding Churchill dog on the parcel shelf of a pensioner's Morris 1100.*
Ah it's really annoying!🤣 I'll be sticking with the traditional wave.
Great video Shaun. Where do you get your music from. It’s perfect for the roads and scenery
I use EpidemicSound, you pay a monthly subscription, and away you go! It's all royalty free so you can use it all over social media.
Fantastic video 👍 I did the same ride after lockdown 😁 I am thinking off getting a XR from a GS how was the long days in the saddle on the body 😊 keep the video coming 👍
The GS is definitely more comfortable Dave! The XR has a very neutral sitting position as you sit in the seat not on it, which makes it harder to move around on.
@@thelikeablerider8800 ok thanks for letting me know. Ride safe 👍
Brilliant as usual. which do you find easier left or right side of the road riding ? just curious
Definitely right! Although I did get used to left fairly quickly
At 6.57 is one Jimmy Saville’s old residence, if walls could talk.🤔
Oh Jesus!🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣
Great Video Shaun, the route you’ve chosen looks amazing. Could you possibly share your route and accommodation you’ve chose on the next video or on a wee link?
@davidhughes7292 it's the A82 from Loch Lomond, takes you up through Glencoe and Fort William, then bung a left on the A87 to Shiel Bridge. Link to the Hotel is in the video description👍😜
@TheLikeableRider Any chance of you sharing the GPX files of your Schotland trip somewhere?
