    I have the same pipes in the 14" model. Without baffles, they have a nice throaty growl, but not loud at all. No droning on highway riding, not much louder than stock with the baffles in. I opted for the 14" because I knew that the 8" would have less of a silencing effect, and I really didn't want it to be loud.... I run with the baffles out, and I get more wind noise than I do from the exhaust.

      Yeah, I wanted the 14s, but these fell into my lap for $80 nearly brand new. Couldn't pass that up.

    I still have stock pipes on my 2013. I like the low noise when I’m cruising

    I am really digging the way it sounds. I have the same exact bike and this exhaust is needed on mines

    I have FJR but i think when you realy ride the bike like for 500-1000km trips for a day this Exhaust is un needed , stock is better , but if u ride only around the city or to work then...yeah why not :)

    Here in UK these would be considered illegal for road use I used to like loud exhausts , now I am quite oposite. I ve change my muffler only because of weight reduction, stock is too heavy

    I'm thinking about trying a set of the 8" cans. Have you noticed any heat issues with the side cases, since the outlets are under the side cases?

      I have the same system on a 2013 FJR and the cans are actually cool to the touch which is super cool.
      One thing I notice a lot more is that when I am decelerating I get lots of popping noises that I never noticed with the stock exhaust. If this bothers you then you may want to consider that.

      @@michaeldecaires8078 I believe that's due to the PAIR system that injects air into the exhaust. Many people remove it and cap it off.. No more popping.. I'm getting the 18" ones for my 06 Fjr1300.. 😁

    Sounds good. But too expensive. I bet the cheap Chinese mufflers sound exactly the same with the baffles out.

    How do they sound at highway speeds? Is there a drone to them and are they much louder cruising on the highway?

    • @lrn15782
      @lrn15782  4 роки тому +3

      There is quite a drone to them. If you don't wear earplugs, you'll go deaf. I ended up installing the baffles to cut the edge. They're still loud, just not ear splitting. I also gained some torque back that I lost with the unbaffled pipes. I'm loving them for now, although everyone thinks you want to race them. Haha

    • @michaeldecaires8078
      @michaeldecaires8078 2 роки тому +3

      Yup... a major drone. I bought them already installed on the bike and I think the prev owner took the baffles out. For now I put my stock pipes back on and they sound just fine for me.

      I'm not going to lie, they're pretty loud, even with the baffles. Maybe when I'm older I'll go back to quiet ones. 😄

      Very much so. For me, the stock seat was unbearable. Don't get me wrong, the Corbin is firm and takes some time to mold to your butt, but it's absolutely worth it. My wife has it on her FJR as well.

      I only paid $60 for them, so I figured what the heck. Longer pipes do look better on the FJR. My wife's bike came with the Two Brothers titanium and they look and sound amazing. I'm not about to spend $1k for them, though.
