Loved the flat Abba bought! I always wonder why a lot of Brits want “period features”… to me all I think when I hear that phrase is old and needs a lot of maintenance! Modern, low maintenance all the way for me 😅
Period features in the UK usually means higher ceilings, bigger windows and beautiful details like fireplaces, floorboards / tiles, cornicing, etc. Which isn't for everyone, but culturally, it's often what feels homely. 🤷As for maintenance ... all houses need that at some point, and that's what the survey is for ultimately.
Abba wouldn't necessarily have to build a wall. She could buy a flat pack large open shelving unit to divide the two spaces and she would look very chic
NORTH AMERICAN ENGLISH: (of a person) unattractive in appearance. BRITISH ENGLISH: (of a place or surroundings) simple but cozy and comfortable, as in one's own home; unsophisticated and unpretentious, e.g., homely pleasures
it is great that the two buyers got what they wanted. What's depressing is knowing that Kirsty's rather relatively positive view of Brexit has not panned out. More than the pandemic, Brexit has been very bad for the Brits and the British economy...
I know people keep commenting this but for real, when you put a house for sale, all personal items should be put away. One of the flats the sisters viewed was full of not only furniture, knickknacks and so on but everything left in full view in the bathroom, shower gels, deodorant, loofah…this is what NOT to do if you want to sell, it’s off-putting to the max.
@@FarmerJAB You want a prospective buyer to imagine themselves in that house, make it a home in their minds first. Not imagine someone’s dead skin cells in the shower. I can see past the clutter too and look at the bones (rooms size, layout, etc) but that doesn’t make it very inviting.
That’s perfectly understandable. Many people want to leave within reasonable distance of their parents. Being independent doesn’t mean you have to move 100 I’m away
Both clients had similar budgets but were shown really different properties. Only 15K for 2 more bedrooms makes no sense. The Sisters were given better options than abba.
Also, keep in mind the differences between the locations and buildings. It’s not a like for like comparison. Not to mention, Abba doesn’t need three bedrooms lol.

Such lovely positive people and a great outcome for all! Just love Kirsty and Phil! :D
Good choice Abba, great investment. Happy for you.
Love these shows Kirsty and Phil work great together………..🤗🇨🇦
I watch this just so that I can hate it, the banter between Kirtsy and Phil is cringeworthy, it’s toe curling

I guess I just like having my toes curled. 🤣😍 Call me crazy!
Love the way Abba dress! What a lovely video with our favourite Phil and Kirsty.
All those properties are worth at least 40% more 8 years later, so they did well !

wow what a JOY!!! - realistic and successful people - and of course, Kirsti & Phil top it all off - SUPERB
Nice episode, thank you :)

I used to live up the road from Beckenham - a LOT of flats there in pretty decent surroundings.
Why can't I have a Phil and a Kirstie in my life??
Phil is a yes. But Kirsty can be judgemental and arrogant - her way or the highway
A bit of a roller coaster ride! Nevertheless, it all worked out in the end.
Thank you.
Good to mention service charges
Brexit, the gift that keeps on giving 🤦♀️
Phil blushing about the no pants comment. So adorable.
I would like to know how is the market now in May 2024
"Homely" in UK must be like "home-y" or cozy, homelike. In USA it means ugly

They were looking for different things though. Three people vs one, a child to consider vs none, not the same tastes...
