I found this new avocado oil one at Whole Foods the other day in burger and ground forms. I used the grounds to make my meal prep pasta for the week and I instantly tasted a difference. I agree that it tastes way better! I typically use Impossible grounds and patties for pasta and burgers, but I might start using this Beyond one now!
Oh wow!
My wife went vegan about 5 years ago and during the process she picked up a medical condition call interstitial cystitis. It's a pretty complex condition and you can look it up if you want to. Anyway, she found out that one of the main contributing factors is Sunflower oil/lecitin which is very common in all foods but found in many vegan foods. This is pretty cool that they came out with this avocado oil. We will have to try it out!
Lot of unhealthy vegan food. Processed food should be extremely limited.
That has to be hard. I agree sunflower is in A LOT of things.
I also have interstitial cystitis and for me I have to avoid nightshades. I'm so sorry she has to deal with this awful condition too!
@alannahsaunders4722 I'm glad you found your triggers! It took a while for us to figure out what was bothersome for her.
Avocado oil is high in monounsaturated fats, vitamin E, and antioxidants. Coconut oil has a high saturated fat content.
Avocado oil is a healthier option than coconut oil because of its fat profile and antioxidant properties. 👀🤷♀️
it's all too much some days LOL
@taishaw1696 Unrefined coconut oil has medium-chain triglycerides that are burned as fat.
I've been buying Aabotts burgers of late. Not for me for my bf, he loves them . Especially the ingredients. He was a beyond fan when he first went vegan. We're not fans of foods that replicate meat closely. Enjoyed this video . I like to recommend choices for my non vegan friends and family
Thanks!
I love him he’s so chill idk why he’s just cool
We love y'all! Thank y'all for all of the information. Thanks for trying it and giving honest reviews.
Thanks for watching!
I would be hyped to try this new one. There is an aroma on the regular version I don’t love. And generally I’d rather just have vegetables over protein isolates and factory food, but you need these types of indulgences in your life from time to time. If you want to try making it yourself in bulk, the folks over at Modernist Pantry have a DIY version. Which is way cheaper, obviously, than packaged product.
Yes, please make a taste test video with all the new vegan burgers! You guys make the best taste test videos ❤
I think we need too for sure, thank you!
Personally I don't want anything that mimics meat but that's just me. My non-vegan husband tried both beyond and impossible burgers and thought they were "very good." I always thought that beyond had a weird smell when cooking. He's game to trying the new improved avocado oil burger and that makes me happy. Thanks so much for this review!
Agreed! Beyond the burger has a nauseating smell when heated imo, but I did a stir fry with the beyond beef strips and that was good with vegan steak sauce. Enjoy your day🙂🙋🏽♀️
Understand, we always appreciate people that don't want it. Thanks for watching
My husband and I so appreciate you both! Keep up the good work and yes we enjoy these burgers because we are advocates of avocado oil especially since now we have read more negative criticisms pertaining to coconut oil.
The transition though is ongoing due to the fact my husband also has a Jamaican heritage and most of the staples includes coconut. WOW! Thanks again!
We do love coconut in our house too, just moderation like everything else is how we try to handle
Love the matching merchandise outfits ❤
Thank you 🤗
I managed to get hold of this product just yesterday and immediately shared my thoughts on youTube the same day. I'm really impressed with all the aspects you highlighted about this item, and I'm eagerly anticipating your next video on comparing various vegan burgers.
Thank you!
Love your videos always the best reviews. It's been awhile since I've had either but beyond or impossible just sit like you are thanksgiving dinner uncomfortable vibe. Both really good though
Thank you so much
Trunk! Elephants have trunks 😂 We had the avocado oil Beyond burgers tonight. I defrosted them first, cooked per directions, and they came out great! We like the Impossible and Beyond burgers equally. The Impossible burgers are more common in restaurants around here (northern Nevada). Thank you for your reviews and especially, your delicious recipes! You two are awesome 🥰
Oh my goodness these burgers are awesome I love them. I'm so glad they changed the oil in them
Myself and my Fiancé are fans of the new formula. It's more mild in flavor and smell when cooking. Which is a good thing to us! The texture is slightly different but not unpleasant in any way. We're happy with the new formula!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks so much for your reviews! I'd love to see you do reviews of various seitan-based products. I've found them to have a lot fewer ingredients than some of the other products out there, though I do understand that people who have issues with gluten couldn't eat them. I've tried Upton's and No Evil Foods and really loved the products from both companies.
Noted, thanks for the idea
Both Beyond and Impossible have new formulas out recently. Impossible is branded as lite. I think they’re both trying to address some of the complaints that have been generally made about the burgers… too much sodium and saturated fat. I’ve always liked the Beyond burger. I can’t say I really remember Impossible outside of the Whopper, which is good.
I get that
i like the Beyond Meat products. But i agree sometimes it has a smell. Maybe its the coconut in the classic burger. I absolutely love their breakfast sausage patty. I also agree i can only have them every once in a while because the fat and sodium is a bit high for me overall . Great review thanks!
Thanks so much for watching
The sausage is yummy!
Avocado oil is healthier than coconut oil. Coconut oil can raise cholesterol levels and has a medium chain triglyceride fat that is more troublesome for people who have high lipids. So much better choice for health! I’ll feel better eating it.
They may have been using some coconut oil as a side oil but the main oil in their original one was expeller pressed canola oil. Which is a cheaper oil.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
@hidden909 unrefined coconut oil is healthy for you.
Love your videos could you do an honest review of the blue zone meals?
We hope too soon!
So I am one of those folks who likes the unique flavor of Beyond Burgers. Looking forward to giving these a try and seeing how they compare.
Let us know what you think!
We like them and will buy again. We liked the old version too, but this one is better. We don’t dislike Impossible, but we don’t like it as much, plus their Ground is 12 oz and Beyond is 16 oz, and Impossible is usually more expensive here in the NY Hudson Valley.
Understand that
I randomly found this maybe a month ago here in LA. It came in the free form pack and tried it out since the regular was out. I LOVED IT! The burgers tasted even better. I went back to the store, but the rest was gone quick. 😂
Oh man, hope it restocks for you
When cooking Impossible and Beyond on the grill, I find it easier to cook from frozen.
agree!
I have bought this version as the 16 oz block. The ground is stickier, and therefore more difficult to form into patties. I oiled my hands to form each patty and that helped. I prefer the taste of this compared to the older version of Beyond, as well as the texture. Overall I think it's an improvement!
Thanks for sharing!
I love watching your reviews but where I live I can never find the things you review I just keep adding thing to my list to try when I travel somewhere else
Oh no! I hate that, where are you at?
That would be awesome to see a video on different types of vegan burgers. I’m always on the hunt for a good vegan burger 👍🏼
We have two that we have done in the past, but i definitely think we need a new one. ua-cam.com/video/JcON1G4-Tps/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/Na_OsZ1dc3c/v-deo.html
I hope they keep making the prior version. I can't have soy and my husband is allergic to avocado so the original is better fit for us!
On the occasion I buy burgers or the ground, I stick with Impossible. Beyond seemed to have an odd smell and taste to me. I had noticed the new Beyond a week or so ago in a couple of stores & had been debating on trying it, just to see if it would be better. Thanks for the review, Im gonna check it out 😊
Fair enough!
Just bought this yesterday, and was happy to see that the price is the same, because Beyond initially said it would cost more. I appreciate that they've replaced the coconut oil with avocado oil, which _is_ healthier. I had the first one yesterday, and don't know how I feel about it. I like the identical priced reduced-fat Impossible burger, but it does have coconut oil, which I'm trying to avoid. I'm curious to see what you two think . . . . ah, you approve. I think we'll see people complaining on social media how they miss the faint whiff of canned catfood from the previous Beyond recipe, ha! Thanks for posting 🙂
Beyond has a bit healthier ingredients than Impossible
@@sunnylink917 Especially now, I think.
HAHAHAHHA
My fam likes the impossible burgs. We will have to try the Beyond again. It was the texture that we weren’t a big fan of last time. 👍🏼
Ah ok, let us know if you try them
I was going to ask about the weird after smell / taste… if that’s gone I’m willing to try!
@Make It Dairy Free hello guys👋🏾 I appreciate your reviewing these as I also didn’t care for the smell of the original beyond burgers. That’s one of the reasons I stop purchasing them. Another reason is because I also found that after eating the original beyond burger that beyond burger scent would be seeping through my pores. 🤢 But I’m willing to try the new avocado beyond burgers
oh eww
I don't think that the core audience is vegans necessarily. I always consider it more of a transitional food and since I transitioned long before these products were around, they don't appeal to me.
My meat eating family eats that at home but I never touch it. It upsets my stomach due to the fat content. I don't have a gallbladder and was sick for 3 days after eating ½ a beyond burger. I am also more wfpb for my health
I haven't eaten meat in 30 years and the replacements don't appeal to me but I am so grateful that they exist because I do believe that they help people go vegan. While my family has not gone vegan, these products help me keep my house vegan with fewer arguments. Lol
I completely get that viewpoint!
Yep, I have eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and one of the worst foods to induce choking is meat. I’m trying to figure out whether a plant-based sub will do the same since it’s the texture that’s the problem, without actually testing it myself… lol Been WFPB since last Sept and haven’t choked once! I also have to watch fat, luckily less so than when I had a gall bladder, but it’s still an issue somewhat and so much packaged vegan food has WAY too much fat!
@leapintothewild I am so happy to hear that you made the switch. It is seriously the best thing that I have ever done.
Not to make light of your condition, my mother suffers with this and I can't imagine always being fearful when eating. The thought of eating animals makes me choke.
while we're on the topic, which brand of hot dogs do you guys recommend? i've seen all your videos but always forget😅 also thank you for this video!! i was so curious if these we're any different than the og beyond burgers.
You guys are so funny... Elephant trunk, but yeah it looks more like a Billy goat to me, too, but it suits him.
LOL!
Thanks for the video. The packaging is made to catch the eye of non vegans, to get them to try it. A percentage healthier* almost always refers to the non vegan alternatives. Andrew wants to finish the burger, that means he did like it. I’m in to try it.
He did LOL
I saw it at the store and was curious but I passed on it cause I'm tryna clean up the diet but definitely will have to check it out
Understand
The percentage thing didn't throw me off because it's on the other Beyond patties too!😊 It's even on Impossible patties too. But I'm also the type of person who reads all the words on vegan products because I have a friend who is soy intolerant and vegan/veggie-curious, plus never hurts to have some nutrition facts ready when someone finds out I'm vegan & suddenly becomes the health police.
But for burgers, it depends on my mood. Lately I've been all for veggie patties. When I want something that truly tastes like meat, Impossible. Sometimes I just crave a Beyond burger too. Really curious to try the NotCo one though! Everyone seems to love it.
You should def try it, we show it in this video ua-cam.com/video/MkWVvAo4IZg/v-deo.html
@@MakeItDairyFree yes! Already watched! You guys convinced me to try it!😌 Whenever I'm able to get my hands on it!
Thank you👍🏾🙋🏽♀️🍔
Welcome :)
I really like thr beyond i dont think ive bought the Impossible besides having it at Burger King! But, i will do a taste test with my son!
Hope you enjoy
Hi @makeitdairyfree please make a vegan speckled red bean burger.
Thank you
Thank you for this. I definitely prefer Beyond burgers to Impossible. But both are WAY better choices than beef burgers for SO many reasons. Eat whole plant foods whenever possible, but enjoy the meat analogs without guilt or shame please ;) They are better for your health, better for the planet, and definitely better for the animals!
Thanks so much for watching!
Have y'all ever tried Dr.Praegers? I think those taste way better.
We have, glad you like it!
Me n my husband love our swag from y’all. This channel and Nard Dog Cooks just rule! Thank you 🥰
awww thank you soooooo much
I liked and used the original Beyond burgers and grounds. I’m not a fan of Impossible. They give me reflux from all the coconut oil (I think). I’m looking forward to trying this new version.
Hope you enjoy it
Definitely try AABOTTS😊
We do like the few products we tried from them, we have a video :)
@@MakeItDairyFree hmmmm I must have forgotten the company name, I'm sure I've seen all your videos,,, my whole just started carrying them. I'll browse back through 👍✌️
Something about beyond burgers flavor. It just has an odd taste to me vs impossible and other brands. Great vid and the merch looks fly
Thanks so much
The less saturated fat labeling isn’t deceiving. It was on the prior versions of the burgers too.
oh ok, thanks, hard to keep up with everything sometimes
I don't think we have this version of Beyond in NZ yet, sounds healthier 🤔
I am definitely an impossible burger person ❤❤❤
Understand that!
I need someone who normally gets stomach upset from the original burger to try this new version and see how is goes. For whatever reason, BB has a strange aftertaste and always give me stomach upset. Hopefully the new formula is better!
Me too! So honestly I don’t plan on trying this one :-/
I get that
Elephant trunk...you two!
OMG HAHA, I don't even know where this stuff comes from sometimes
Y'all are so fun. Thank you for the information. However, it's a no thank for me. I have tasted the original Beyond burger and thought it was not good. To me, their sausage isn't bad, but I don't buy either.
Fair enough!
I only purchase/eat plant-based meats when in social situations/events - typically 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc. I like Impossible best and will buy it over any other brand if/when I can find it locally.
I am interested in knowing the only brand of yogurt you will buy. Please share.
Dairy free Yoplait Oui is the one we like
😊hi kids!!!✌️🌻👍not my "food" ,,but great review and video!!!
Thank you 😋
Are there any good burgers with out soy? Like a good bean burger?
Greetings to you both. I tried the new ones this week and I had a little bit of that slightly grossed out feeling as though it were actually meat. But then, I have been a vegan for decades, so keep that in mind. Do you know of a veggie burger that doesn't resemble meat? (We're talikg 45 years here!) Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Understand. Have you tried the NoBull veggie burgers? We enjoyed those
@@MakeItDairyFree No I haven't, but I have never seen them around here. Thanks! 😊
I eat impossible. I dont like beyond much. But i need to try this one
Let us know what you think!
I've only tried the meatballs from both impossible and beyond. I prefer impossible, but would try both again if they would make healthier options. They are still too oily.
Understood
I actually just tried this burger, and mehhhh. My omni hub said it needs salt. We def prefer Impossible, esp if Beyond replaces the original with this.
I’ve been vegan almost 17 years, and I remember when Beyond Meat sold chikin strips that were awesome, and I miss that product.
Any suggestions for a thin veg burger, similar to a smashed burger patty? I’ve never liked thick ones even when I ate meat, and anything I make at home is even worse to fall apart than thick ones so I end up with a sloppy joe 😂
I feel like the ones at Aldi aren't that big. Have you tried those?
Target has them to..
Nice
I bought the beyond burger meatballs…I thought the texture was okay but didn’t like the taste. I’ve eaten many meat substitutes and like a lot of them but those meatballs may sit in the freezer awhile until I can figure out who to give them too.
oh darn
I hope they use the new formula in the sausage patties. I eat them more than the burgers.
That would be interesting to see if they do
I'm so happy to hear that the new version is good. My husband and Mt best friend both never liked Beyond Burgers because of the coconut oil smell. My husband also Saud he could taste the coconut, and he hates coconut. I live that the new ones are lower in sodium and saturated fat. Thanks, guts! Here in Metri Detroit both Kgoger and Meijer have them. They charge $6.99 for the nee version, and $5.99 for the old version. As for Impossible versus Beyond, I prefer Beyond because Impossible has more u healthy ingredients. That "heme" that the chemically engineered for Impossible had a hard time getting FDA approval. That's pretty bad.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I Challenge yall both to order the Abbots new plant based burger (from amazon wholefoods) which happens to have the cleanest ingredients in a vegan burger everr, and i would like y'all to do a taste test with it & show us how yall feel about it .. but taste it with a bun and ketchup it looks so good and all the reviews are so positive on it (please respond when yall see this message) So do yall except this challenge? 😅
We like Abbotts other products, so we will look for this one!
Bay Naturals has a really good burger made with Beyond, but the Impossible is the best hands down.
Glad you have one you enjoy
I only eat the not burger I don’t know if you have these but I’m from Canada,I do prefer the impossible to the beyond tho
We tried it in this video :) ua-cam.com/video/MkWVvAo4IZg/v-deo.html
Feedback from a film/TV professional:
Your videos would benefit from conciseness, which is achieved by preparing your words before pressing record. Editing out the slow parts would be similarly beneficial. Your viewers don't want to watch you figure out what you're going to say in real time.
Good content, though, and I look forward to seeing more of you two in the future! 😊
Your videos are perfect! You're not professional actors. The whole point is that you're a regular couple, sharing your opinions ❤
What's the only yoghurt you would get??
Dairy Free Yoplait Oui
The "old" Beyond taste and smells like Flintstone vitamins. I just can't. Do the "new" ones have that taste as well?
OMG not Flinestone vitamins LOL, haven't heard that one. They smelled when opening, but not when cooking/eating.
Don't all the Beyond and Impossible products count as ultra-processed foods?
Pea protein can cause an allergic reaction for some people with peanut allergies.
Yes
I think you should have also bought a pkg of the original one to compare it..
Noted
Are you not concerned about the "Natural Flavors" that they do not list and that it is not Organic? I also hear Avocado oil is not as monitored - I choose organic
No we aren't
I LOVE how you pointed out that marketing trick that's why I don't support these plant-based products. At the end of the day, they are more processed than eating meat.
I don't necessarily agree it's more processed. I think vegan and non-vegan companies all do deceptive marketing, but I wish they didn't
All meat is ultra processed...from the moment the animal is born, even in the womb, many processes to feed and grow it and the hormones and anti biotics injected, the weening from the mother, the slaughter then the grinding, them mixing the ginds with other ground up animals and adding the pink slime and artificial dyes to make the meat red to appear fresh, the packaging and preserving and storage and shipping...etc .pretty processed
I agree with her about the deceptive packaging. Of course, Beyond wants new customers, but at the end of the day the bulk of their customers are probably repeat buyers. I believe (someone should correct me if the statistics say differently) that move of their sales are people that are already vegan or vegetarian. Therefore, I think it is misleading to their established customer base to misrepresent the nutrition information of the product compared to their other products.
The founder actually says most customers are meat-eaters
@@MakeItDairyFree Interesting. I wouldn't have expected that. Thanks for the response.
Their packaging has always mentioned that beyond has a certain percent less fat than ground beef.
Oh thanks! Sometimes it's hard to keep up
If you do a ranking video, include Not Burger!
will do! We did try it in this video ua-cam.com/video/MkWVvAo4IZg/v-deo.html
I thought I read that there are fewer ingredients in the new Beyond. ??
23 in old, 16 in new. Noting that both say Natural Flavors and the new one just says "spice".
@@MakeItDairyFree well, that feels like a step in the right direction. You guys are great! Keep up the informative reviews. 👍
3:08 fat comparison is definitely meant for the meat eaters. especially in my grocery stores they place it in next to the real meat which thoroughly annoys me to no end 😕
they do that in our Target too :/
Elephant trunk 😂
omg why was that so hard
I hated the Beyond meat because of the smell and taste that most people detect. I'd be willing to try the new, but I default to Impossible because it didn't have that taste. (To be fair I am not vegan for health nor do I "watch" what I eat.)
Completely understand
Elephant trunk.
SMH HAHAHAH
Now I'm curious what yogurt you'll only buy after that comment. 🤔
Yoplait Oui lol
The dairy free one obviously
That's my favorite also. ❤
What is this yogurt you love? We love vanilla Siggis. (And I think you meant an elephant's trunk. Haha!)
HAHA, I don't know why that elephant thing was so hard in the moments LOL! We like dairy free Yoplait Oui
@@MakeItDairyFree Thanks. Will give it a try!
I hope they keep the non-avocado version. I try and buy very few avocado products because they're so bad for the environment.
Understood
Gosh this companies products are far to expensive here, so never tried them, these burgers, for 2 are $11 dollars, their mince is $15
oh darn :/
Beyond Burger gives me a stomach ache every time i have tried with it its a big nope for me
boo!
i dont like beyond because there is to much grease
Get that
Impossible is gmo, so not for me!
ok
It sounds like standard marketing deceptive tactics to me. Beyond Meat is just doing the same things others do and shoppers have to be super sleuths.
agree with that
If it doesn't have actual food in it, it stays on the shelf.
There is real food in these. It may not be whole foods, plant based, which is another category, but I don't think it's fair to say there's "no actual food in it"
Toxic stuff
you don't have to eat if it's not for you :)
Is beyond burger a bill gates product?
You'll have to ask him
It is only going to be a matter of time before the meat industry is going to go with hybrid plant and animal protein and full plant protein as animal protein continues to climb in price.
They're already on the market, I know Tyson was making some. I think a few others
These burgers are for meat eaters wanting to switch and the occasional vegan that wants a meat substitute
Maybe
Do you have a cook book? ❤
not yet ;)
