    I would bet that the problem with volcanic offering is that because it offers the ability to select the same target for each option and mtgo doesn't understand how to let you announce the cast, declare targets, then put it back in your hand when you can't pay it.

    Good game, I love a deck with a lot of interactions. Glad to see a chance for this deck to shine. It helped me on some card choices after seeing the deck in action.
    It definitely seems like a midrange commander, I just picked up Hinata today from my LGS after watching your analysis on the card. I will have to see what list I can come up with.

      Hinata would just make a mean control deck in general,

      Have fun!!! Just one suggestion, you may need to pack some extra protection like a lightning greaves, as after a good number of games now I've seen she definitely becomes a target quick. Once she's removed two or more times, your game plan really slows down.

    Glasses of urza is an interesting card, personally, I just prefer playing Telepathy, that way I can see all the hands all the time and play around them accordingly. also its a pretty good removal target for someone to waste their enchantment removal on.
    Kindred discovery is a combo piece in my Locust God deck. with the locust god out, I just have to draw a card and It will start a chain reaction where I draw my whole deck and I would deck myself out if I can't chaos warp it or stifle the effect, but I have "firestorm" in the deck which is one of my wincons. since drawing cards gives me insects, I can discard 50 cards, target 47 of my insects and 3 of my opponents and shoot everything for 50 damage for 1 red mana, its pretty good. And it is an instant, so I can cast it in response to the draw trigger. if they counter it however, I die, hahaha!

      Telepathy is a good alternative. Though you have to be careful with it too, as your opponents can cast their big threats, knowing most of their opponents don't have an answer to it.
      Ooh, that does sound very powerful with the locust god and i love the spicy firestorm tech :)

      @@casual_commander a creature that does almost the same thing as kindred discovery is "Sage of the falls", it's a Merfolk wizard, very important, and it says the following: "Whenever Sage of the Falls or another non-Human creature enters the battlefield under your control, you MAY draw a card. If you do, discard a card."

      @@ingolf82 love it. Locust God is probably one of the best commanders with regards to abusing looting effects.

    Go watch The Matrix. The commander you aren't pronouncing is the name of Morpheus' ship. He says it near the beginning of the movie.

      I hope i never have to play that commander again, just to avoid the issue XD

      @Casual Commander It's also the name of the King in the Bible's Old Testament that threw Shadrack, Meshack, and Abendigo into the furnace to be burned alive.

    I think the way you pronounce Nebush's name is
    Ne-ba-can-ne-zzur
    As for Volcanic Offering, a friend had a similar issue pop up in paper. in regards to Hinata He put the question to a bunch of judges and half of them said it should work, and the other half said it shouldn't. Looks like MTGO favours the latter.

      It does work. Mtgo is just funky again 🤦🏾‍♂️

      Thanks Steven. I hope i don't have to play that commander again, just so i can avoid mispronouncing its name everytime lol.
      A few judges that i saw comment on the interaction said it should work, so hopefully it was just mtgo not working like it should.

      Nebuchadnezzur was actually the name of a Babylonian king. It's also the name of one of the ships in the Matrix.

    Hinata only reduces X spells, the more targets you select with X hinatra reduces, volcanic offering doesn't let you select anything more than what the card says, so will always cost 5.

    • @casual_commander
      @casual_commander  2 роки тому +5

      Hey Matt, i went to clarify with a judge on whether Hinata can reduce the cost of Volcanic offering. Here is what they said:
      "She can. The actual reduction is dependent on the targets. She will provide between 1 and 4 mana reduction (with a 1 mana reduction only possible if all 4 targets are the same Land Creature)."

    • @PlasmaTheBlue
      @PlasmaTheBlue 2 роки тому +10

      It definitely does not just reduce X spells. It doesn't even say that on the card.
