      It’s honestly surprising how racist many liberals are. A bakery in our town has immigrants that work in it (most asylum from Africa some from Asia). My white very liberal family went to it, then left because they had a bible verse on the wall, something about Jesus loving everyone or something. They said they wouldn’t support a republican bakery and told the people working that the owners were using them as slaves and the owner just wanted to deport them the moment they stepped out of line. They through out some racist terms and stormed out. They didn’t realize (and I didn’t have the heart to tell them) the owner was a black immigrant herself.

    I can understand Chandler's passion and anger. I'm a young black man myself and when I was his age I had that same anger. It is very aggravating when people treat you like you're stupid or can't make it in life because of your skin color. This is especially frustrating because I heard it growing up from my own people and now white liberals have adopted this mentality. Best thing to do is to understand their arguments, be patient, and give clear cut points. Patience goes a very long way.

    • @TheSchaef47
      @TheSchaef47 11 місяців тому +9

      And he needs to use Socratic methods of reason to drill down into topics like welfare. Alec doesn't realize it but he gave the entire argument against welfare in the beginning.
      "Conservatives want to take away welfare" and "just give people all the money" are contradictory when taken to their logical conclusion. If giving them money makes their lives better, then they don't need the money any more and you can stop giving it out. But if you stop giving the money out, then people will starve or whatever. So it doesn't actually help; you now have to keep giving them money forever, and they are incapable of surviving without being given money constantly. You have created a dependent class of people and now they have to vote to give you political power forever for the sake of their very lives. That's not helping, and by default it shows that distribution can never solve the problem of poverty.

      I think it's due to Chandlers' age vs. his skin color. He may use his skin color as the reason, but it is his age and lack of maturity. You said it it best at the end of your comment.

      @@TheSchaef47 What's more is Alec didn't address the part about how you would keep the families intact while still giving them welfare. Remember, them deciding to not get married before having kids and not have a man in the home was not something the state told them to do. It was something they decided themselves to do in order to qualify for welfare, so how does Alec plan on doing the same thing and convincing these people to do the opposite of what they would need to do in order to receive those benefits? It doesn't make sense and I wish the young man would have pointed that out. It reminds me of when Joe Biden literally said in one of the debates that if elected president he would "figure out" how to end racism. Well sadly enough, no one immediately asked him how come he hadn't done that in all his many decades in high political office, especially while he was VP with the former black president.

Like Sean indirectly pointed out, if he had more knowledge of how minorities in various countries throughout the world, including outside the West, could succeed in the face of blatant systemic racism, then there's no reason to believe blacks in America couldn't do the same even if America was as racist as discount Vaush claims.

    Up here in Canada we have a similar issue with the native population. It's the white liberals that push agendas like the whole residential schools myth, and even naming them "indigenous" or "first nations". When you talk to actual natives here they call themselves "native" or "indian" or "aboriginal" and think "indigenous" and "first nations" sound dumb. @williamschlass6371 nobody said anything about depending on luck. What I said is that luck plays a bigger role than most people would care to admit. That's because we have very little control over the world around us. Hell, we don't even have full control over ourselves. Humans beings aren't even capable of authoring their own thoughts. We can guide our thoughts and choose to act on them when they arise, but we have no control over what thoughts are going to arise beforehand. The human brain functions as a kind of roulette wheel in that once we decide to spin the wheel, we don't know what it's going to land on until the moment it stops. That's a fact that you don't even need a PHD in neuroscience to understand. All you need is a bit of self-awareness and the willingness to be honest with yourself.
      There are literally millions, if not billions of different things that could have gone terribly wrong (or right) for any of us today that we have 0 control over. Leaving your house in the morning 1 second later could be the difference in you getting into a fatal car accident on your way to work.
