A few ago, I attended a Gang Investigator's conference. One presenter was a detective with the Chicago PD Gang Unit. At that time, CPD had a homicide solve rate of 9%....imagine the huge number of murders and such a low solve rate (snitches get stitches).

A few ago, I attended a Gang Investigator's conference. One presenter was a detective with the Chicago PD Gang Unit. At that time, CPD had a homicide solve rate of 9%....imagine the huge number of murders and such a low solve rate (snitches get stitches).
I suspect police in Chicago very quickly learn that the majority of the murders there solve themselves fairly quickly... On paper it's 9%. In reality, the perpetrator is probably punished within a few days by being the next unsolved murder.

It's disingenuous at best. In a town that small, a single extra murder would spike the rate like crazy. Where I live they complain that natives are disproportionately arrested and charged with crime. The population is less than 5000. It's all one guy. One repeat offender. It isn't that natives are targeted, it's that Jim is an asshole.

As a brit, whos familiar with hasan, his opener made me roll my eyes. I have fond memories of hasan not calling out the extremists in the midst of the muslim community but at every opportunity, going after those calling them out who werent muslim and obfuscating the issue.
Heres a lovely reminder that he once compared non muslims to cattle in a speech. He apologised for it in 2019 and i'd happily accept the apology if not for the fact that he had been called out for it multiple times, including once on bbcs question time by david starkey and every time, he lied about it. In the starkey case, he got his name wrong in the moment and hasan used that to dodge the accusation. So though i truly believe mehdi doesnt believe that anymore, i think his apology was only because he couldnt hide it anymore and didnt go far enough given his years of lying about it.

I've noticed that we rarely hear about Amish-on-Amish violence.

So I don't agree with Adams, and I've described why.
But I wouldn't mind having more evidence for my optimism on the subject, if you have some to offer. What evidence do *you* find persuasive, in thinking that that integration is working, versus voluntary segregation?
