Most taps will remove material and make the threads oversized and the bolt or stud "sloppy" in the fit. They do make tools to just chase the threads to clean them.

I have run into that problem before when using a cheaper set of taps. I done a little research to find out why that is a problem. Seems some tap sets are class 2 and some are class 3. The class 3 has closer tolerances. I was using a set Mac taps. I wasn't having that issue so they may be class 3. A class 2 tap cuts a little deeper to allow for plating on bolts such as zinc plating. I may make another video addressing this. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Any should work fine. Most sets have taper taps. That's all I've ever used and they have worked fine.
