Holt was magnificent! I was REALLY taken by his performance. He better at least get a nomination for best supporting😊 for any award, Maura killed it in the scene where she talks of the dress "I can't put it on" Great film, very tragic. Stellar performance from everyone.
They couldn’t have picked a better actor to have played Fritz, he looks like him . Loved him in Mindhunter. Saw a interview with Kevin asking about the movie. He didn’t have a bad thing to say about his dad, he said he played college football in Texas and that all the dads were that way.
I haven’t seen this Yet. Will on Sunday. I agree. I Love when a character actor gets a role like this. Because he has been so great for so long and is finally getting recognition
I'll give the actor all the credit dude definitely did his research and anyone complaining about him defending Fritz dude played him in the movie so he has to get into Fritzs mindset to play him
@@verzinghettorix6360Says who? Not his sons, the sons actually did enjoy and love wrestling. Weird how you would disagree with first hand accounts when you literally don’t even know the guy outside of a documentary and a movie.
Great interview, loved the movie . These actors did an outstanding job, and it was a bittersweet finale. I’m from Texas i grew up watching wrestling so i know the story of the family. I’m a huge fan of Bruiser Brody . And the Von Erich brothers. May all the departed rest In peace 🕯️
prolly one of the best interviewers iv seen, asked a few good thought out questions, didnt ramble , didnt try to get a quick laugh out of the actors and make them play some cringy game or whatever just a perfectly executed interiew
@nickhendrikactor957 David and Kerry wanted the fame and adulation that Kevin was getting from the fans and wanted to wrestle, and all 3 became as popular as Rock Stars in Texas. Mike wanted it as well, and no one forced him into the ring. He was enjoying all the perks and looked like he was loving life before he contracted toxic shock. The effects of toxic shock is why Mike committed suicide and nothing to do with Fritz Fritz actually got out of the business and gave it to his boys after Mike died. Sure, Fritz wanted them to show up and keep their bookings just like every other wrestler in the territory. When Kerry wrestled Flair Christmas of 82, he was 22 and high as a kite before the match. You could see it in his eyes, waiting to walk out. He did drugs because they were everywhere and he wanted to and not because Fritz forced them to be the hottest territory of the early 80s.
i remember the Maura Tierney from the movie liar liar with Jim Carrey. Im really shocked she took this role. But also Holt McCallany did an amazing job portraying the dad. Looks like Fritz and even sounds like Fritz
Wow I had no idea that he played Sam Whitemoon until I read your comment. I’ve seen him in so other projects; but never recognized him. The Whitemoon character was awesome.
Maybe I'm missing something, but Maura Tierney looks almost exactly like she did 20 years ago. I hadn't seen her in anything in a long time, so I hit this clip curiously wondering what does Maura Tierney look like these days, and much to my pleasant surprise, she's still stunningly beautiful. Maybe I'm biased (I always did have a little bit of a crush on her) but she looks fantastic. I'm not one of those men that knocks a woman for aging either, it's a healthy process of nature, and lord knows I don't look anywhere near what I did in my prime 30 years ago, but man, she looks phenomenal. To look that good at 58 is a blessing, good for her.
Great interview I agree it was not all the father fault but he was a toxic he build a dynasty but all the emotional pain you feel of from the brother’s tragic deaths but I will say this the father was controlling and was not there for his sons on a mental and emotional level it’s just tragedy I loved this film everyone that did this film was great 👍🏻 10/10 for me

Agreed. These are two terrific veteran actors. They know how to show up and deliver. Both are so underrated

Good to see these two still working and on something important in sports history.
Holt had insane heel heat in my theatre. Amazing performance.

I don’t how they talk about the dad
Facts bro almost sounded like fritz with the excuses 😂😂 bro you pushed them in too this drug infested miserable industry to feed your ego 😂
@@verzinghettorix6360 that guy ain’t fritz but he kinda do look like him but holt wasn’t born before Kerry💀

Maura still killing it
Short but sweet interview, one of the best spoken interviews I’ve seen about wrestling. Great to see the actors take wrestling serious.

I really admire Holt for defending Fritz.
I have for years when people tried to blame him for his sons bad habits.
Same
I mean... He pushed them to the point that they needed a way to numb the pain he had created. But sure he's not to blame.

@@wa2k99 Funny how she took the role of the iron claw. NOTHING CAN STOP THE CLAWWWW 😂😂😂😂
Looking forward to seeing this.
It's crazy how much McCallany looks and sounds like Fritz Von Erich.
It's like Val Kilmer playing Jim Morrison in The Doors.
Holt, big fan since I first saw you in Creepshow 2!!! 😎👍

Holt, bring back lights out. I loved that show
I'm not a wrestling fan, but I just was IronClaw. Holy fucking shit, that's one of the greatest movies of modern times. I'm hooked 🤣

OMB 😲 I thought Holt became Fritz! The way he walked, certain movements and posture. It was scary!
is it just me or did Holt sound legit pissed at the end
Well played Holt

Holt was the best actor in the movie.
