- Find out if you are a BAD or a GOOD drifter. Today we're looking at 5 signs to spot bad drifters in video games. The gameplay is from CarX Drift Racing Online. Using my Thrustmaster T300RS steering wheel with TH8A shifter and Thrustmaster Sparco handbrake. Keep in mind this is just a funny banter, everyone starts as a bad drifter, take this as entertainment content. If you think I missed something, let me know in the comments!

The trick to not get tilted is to join random lobbies accepting the fact everyone will suck. Then when you drift and someone crashes in you, you're just like "understandable, let's continue"

been doing this for a week just hanging back watching all the good people take their line and tandeming and i learned so much. ive finally successfully led for like 5 turns. cant chase for shit yet tho

For the super close tandems, I think that's mostly a skill issue on the chase driver. Like dude, just back off before a transition, it's not that hard.
Yes, but everyone always just wants to get super touchy touchy, like drifting is all about banging doors only.
The problem is that they don't use brakes.they just want believing that they do it well 😂😂
CarX also has really bad de-sync issues, on their screen they are backed off but on yours they arent, Which is why sometimes they seem to just keep pushing/ramming into your door and push you off track hahahaha

Super close tandems depends on both the skill of the leader and the chaser for it to be clean they both need to be able to do their part right
Protip: use smaller tire actually can increase your tire spin speed. Don't use the smallest one because it will cause handling issues tho. I learn to balance both my car fitment and tuning aspect (not the decal looks because im more into that Drift Missle look). I've learn that on my RX-7 (as you can see on my pfp, yes that RX-7)

Gotta admit, there’s a lot of things I can agree with here…but these barely have anything to do with being a bad drifter. Maybe except for the tandeming too close and resetting. The rest are annoying to look at, but they don’t make someone good or bad. A lot of players do or have a lot of the issues you pointed out but can still run like everyone else.

I finally got my wheel setup and have been practicing carx and cruising on AC. I just use my clutch pedal as a handbrake but man! Even with my rotation at 540, sim drifting is still so difficult. I give you and all other pro sim drifters MAJOR props, dood. You guys are hella talented.
A common technique to cause drifting is to do a clutch kick, so you're also training the muscle memory for moving past just using a handbrake to drift if you want. So really, using the clutch pedal in that way is just training
Don’t worry man!!! Takes time and it is VERY VERY satisfying connecting your first drifts together. Have fun man and don’t knock yourself too much cuz it for sure can be frustrating lol
use ur space bar as handbrake, and do clutch kick. go to 900 degrees and start with asetto corsa. i did it and learned in 3 days. now after a month im pretty good

about drifting using the keyboard, you can have a more fluid and smooth drift by making a good tuning and not being stupid to keep pressing the accelerate button all the time (this goes for control and steering wheel too)

Everything in this video makes total sense. Except for the keyboard. Maybe it's more of an issue for CarX but personally I've found keyboard to be more than good enough for Forza.

I'm glad you pointed out these things for people that didn't know. I don't mind if a chaser gets close but it's literally their job to give you space when you transition and leaders job to set the pace, if they can't mirror you, it's their incompetence. And remember to vote ban on people that grief to make the world a better place.
Might be that your lead runs are too slow? I’m always mashing brake and clutch and yanking handbrake just to stay sideways behind someone drifting at 50km/h
I did several 90 ADH builds just to try to drift slower and I still have issues with lead drivers decelerating excessively
depends, I'm bored of vanilla maps and 90adh tandems now so hitting touge like tsukuba fruit line 100adh is much more fun I think. e.g people have different styles, you can inertia, weightshift, whatever a sharp corner, if the person chasing has no plan in mind but just to keep up and takes you out, its on him definitely and he should blink them mf lights to say sorry. if you're chasing, then ur trying to match their speed not control them, if they too slow then overtake or can just have really weak brakes with like 70% front bias @@alexwu8077
So basically i'm playing assetto corsa with mouse steering, is a little bit difficult at first but still better than keyboard steering. I was drifting on singleplayer for like 60hrs or so (i'm not an expert but i am trying) i nail like 3/5 corners either oversteer or lack of power bcs i cant use the clutch. When i started drifting i didn't had a bind for handbrake (i thaught that the mod didn't had a handbrake and learned how to use weight transfer. It was a fun experience

The camber thing is actually a funny point. I put my GTR on max camber with nothing else touched and it actually drifted great. I couldn't get it to break loose once even when trying, and I was drifting at like 30mph with 68+ degrees.
I obviously don't have it set as that all the time, but I did save the build as a meme build just for giggles.

I have been drifting on a controller for a long time but I had a Logitech with shifter and pedals I turned the clutch to a hand break I play it on PlayStation. I love you goose keep up the good work

I can stay really close to the leader as the chaser like a few inches and to keep it clean I either tap the brakes or let the accel slider go down a bit until the leader speeds up again it should give them good space
I’ve been drifting since Forza Motorsport three but it was AWD and automatic then when four came out I switched to RWD with manual with clutch and I’ve been drifting ever since but on controller and people should drift without drift suspension/angle kits so they can get the feel for the car.

I like prismacolor and carbon fibre as my wheel color, I only use liveries and dual-tone/colored rims for spazzy cars, which takes up less than 10 percent of my cars. In fh4 that is

another way to tell you're a bad drifter is if you drift on 90 adhesion (bald tires) or if your front tire is smoking by catching friction from drifting normally around a corner also if you drift with your car maxing out the rev limiter constantly without ever shifting up or drifting in automatic

90 adhesion is fun to drift with its more slow paced and relaxing
I get close with people when I tandem, but as soon as I know that they will transition, I give space.

Actually that would be cool if the game had more support for keyboard players and controller players who wanna drift without assists. Adding a setting to have the wheels be a little less reactive to your inputs and having the wheels smoothly turn to the angle you want would make controlling your steering way easier for these scenarios instead of having the wheels instantly turn to max angle. I'd love to get a steering wheel to learn drifting that way though but I gotta spare some money, even the budget ones are pretty pricey.
it's kinda hard to make it work like that, just look at assetto corsa, it's hell to drift with kb/m, gamepads are a little bit better. I think CarX is fun with kb/m now as arcade drift game.
But I just play CarX when I want to chill so I also understand people who can't buy wheel to play AC and want more from CarX.
Maybe try sending a mail to the dev's. You never know.
@@SHIZURAKU I think Forza does it pretty well, I remember not having too much trouble controlling the car while drifting in FH3 on gamepad but I get your point. When I started to play CarX I switched off the assist immediatly and started to learn like this. It was hard but satisfying and I had fun even if it's so hard to drift smoothly with the steering being so sensitive. After a few hours I finally tried to drift with assist and I gotta admit, I really liked it. When you fire the game after work and just wanna chill it's perfect.
But anyways, thanks for the recommendations I'll try throwing this idea to the devs :)
I dont get why he wanted to crap on keyboard players so hard, i drift pretty clean on a keyboard, drifting with a wheel is obviously a good option but if you're getting a pc set up you'll be on keyboard for a good while until you want to get a controller, let alone a wheel, people can be very clean drifters on keyboards, I'm not the cleanest drifter for sure, but i hold my drifts pretty well, i try to tune the car to actually be able to spin out cause plenty of times it's just like that on keyboard, locked angle, i can tell you you dont have to have a controller to be a professional anything when it comes to driving games, Wirtual, a semi-pro (might be pro cant remember) plays trackmania on a keyboard, he goes up against super professional drivers all the time and gets high up in there, most of the other players, if not all of them, being on controllers, he's won 2 times for cup of the day, maybe 3 not sure, and out of something like 60 players, that's good, he's not the best player, but you dont have to be if you enjoy what you're doing and are having fun.

I think it's mostly due to beginners trying the game with a keyboard and not drifting clean at the beginning and so people tend to say that you can't be good with a keyboard because of that. Once some guy told me that I was a dumbass to play with a controller and without assist because it's not good and I should get a wheel, maybe because he never tried to play like that or he tried but failed and assumed it was impossible. If you can drift clean on keyboard, that's pretty badass IMO. It's like playing on hard difficulty and that's awesome
When i get a tandem , the chaser is bomping us in the top 32 if the chaser is close and your gonna transition and the chaser bomps you, and you get disqualified in the lead

as a nfs player since my childhood i got quite the experience on liveries, and i don't think not having sticker is necesarly better, idk how much options this game offer but on the games i play, i always try to make my liveries look like a work of art.
I feel attacked lol, I drift kb sometimes and it matches the controller and wheel people pretty well. I consistently have people wanting to follow

I agree fully with everything lol but I also rember seeing a video a long time ago of some guy in Japan with a pink s15 drifting with stupid crazy camber lol he said he preferred it that way ha. It was dumb but kinda sorta impressive he could pull it off rather well without crashing lol
even though I'm not the best and that I don't play this game at all, I can relate a ton. I play a lot of nfs and I drift most of the time, but I swear to God when someone tries drifting with me, they spin out and they run in to me

Goosiest, I have been playing on controller for ps4 since christmas, I can pull 360's somewhat consistently, BUT there is one thing most people dont know but my left joystick that i use for steering, Isnt there, So i have to do super small movements to actually transition and drift smoothly
