I'm picking mines up tomorrow 6.30.21 it was an off lease. After reading the comments I want to cancel. The engine and transmission noises... hmmm. I do like that this vehicle uses non premium gas. Unlike my current vehicle that uses premium.

As a Chevy guy the Explorer is really looking a lot nicer than the Blazer.
Chevy cars are garbage
I'm looking at the Explorer - but if I were looking at Chevy it would be the Traverse to compare to this. The Blazer is more like the Edge.
As a Chevy guy I bought a new 2020 Explorer 😆 Chevy's SUVs excluding the full-size, are lackluster.
THE 2020 Ford Explorer is pretty the same sized as my 2018 VOLKSWAGEN ATLAS both of them are great vehicle.
Rear turn signals are not LED. Actually there are three incandescents listed: license plate, rear turn signals and backup lamps.

How can I change the radio source from the steering wheel buttons on the XLT?
I have a 21 XLT with heated seats. They're only in front and not available in the second row. So thats an interesting change
Heated 2nd row seats are included in the condor package. That is correct.

Really good video, thanks Tim for all the information. I purchased this vehicle where I live last month and am still trying to learn more about it. One thing I could use is how to leave the hatch open and get the side mirror outside lights to go off for camping and drive in movies. I've been searching the web and folks have mentioned taking out the fuse, removing the light bulb, etc. My sales person said, you pinch something on the bottom that makes the car think the hatch is closed and you have to unpinch before actually closing to not damage it. I purchased the tent that attaches to the vehicle, but when tried to use it, had to close the hatch to get the lights to go off (sort of defeats the purpose of the having the hatch open to tent). I still can't figure it out and would love to see a video on how to do this. Many owners seem to have this issue from what I've been finding.
I will do some research on this, if I figure it out I will do a video. Thanks for the idea.

I think the only thing I really notice about it, there is a little bit of a wind noise from the windows where you think they aren't rolled up all the way, but they are. I had it looked at but it seems that's just part of the car. I think I only notice it more than most because I don't listen to music that much when driving. No one other than my husband has even noticed it. Other than that it's been great. Also, in regards to my initial concern, the last time we pitched our tent and left the hatch open the lights went out. Not sure what I did different, but the side mirrors seem to be going off now when hatch is left open. I ended up choosing this over the Honda Pilot and love it. Hope it last as long as our F-150 which is 30 years old.
Wish I would have gone up a model to get the heated seats, but didn't want to spend that much. That is the one thing I wish I had with this vehicle.

Remote Start is not standard but it is included in the 202A package. But you can remote start and even schedule remote starts with the FordPass Connect which is standard.
By the time you add up all the upgrades, you might as well get a luxury car.

The reason people get leather seats is they have no compassion. Get Sensatec. ActiveX has some leather unfortunately - very backward.

You somehow forgot to mention the cargo area having shrunk considerably. Pretty significant difference.

@@longmcarthur . Just curious. Are most customers purchasing the XLT trim level with the 202a package? I'm thinking about buying an explorer XLT this summer, but I would rather have the comfort package than the 202a package. I'm also a little disappointed you can't get the fog lights without the 202a package. I have no interest in faux leather seats, remote start, or the 8 way passenger seat.
Where is the block heater plug-in
This vehicle doesn't have that option on it. It should be located in the front, sometimes Ford will have images on the configurator on their website.

I'd rather take the Hyundai Palisade. More options with the better built quality and about 10K cheaper; how can you not like Palisade? Ford Explorer is definitely overpriced! I wouldn't mind Explorer as a disposable rental car for a long vaca trip where I never want to take my own vehicle!

I'm fan of the explorer but this new one looks so cheap on xlt models, too much black plastic everywhere on the exterior, the wheels looks cheap, the roof rails, the grill, the mirror's cap, no fog lights on a 36k vehicle. I know it has value in some other aspects but someone who plans to replace it's old xlt for this is not making an upgrade
Ford has made a decision that I appreciate and is not quickly recognized by looking at the exterior. They put a powerful turbo engine and RWD architecture in the base vehicle as standard. For me that's important but in a crowded marketplace many will see the more 'glitzy' exteriors of the Hyundai / Kia vehicles appearing more upscale for a similar price.
I am not so sure about this but I think the xlt model is a base model or there is another model that got realized since Ford explorer 2016, it's called XLT base model
2.3 4Cyl turbo.....0-60 in 6 sec or less. Independent front and rear suspension ....sway bars front and rear....amazing technology for the money....amazing performance for the money! Who the fuck cares about ‘plastic’ interior. Every car is mostly plastic inside...BMW, Mercedes. Don’t be an ass. One of the best SUV’s of 2020.
